Stealth rock setter and mixed attacker for the team. Magic bounce prevents hazards, status moves and all kinds of cheese from affecting the team with timely switches (which is important as Rotom-W is the defogger of the team).
Traps ghosts/psychics with pursuit, removes items with knock off and mauls ground, grass, flying and dragon types with triple axel. Ice shard allows it to revenge kill or threaten faster threats that are worn down.
Sets up spikes with the switches it forces due to its offensive presence and can even set up to wallbreak with SD + EQ + Devastating Drake/Outrage.
Physically defensive wall that eats hits from some of the most powerful attackers in the metagame like breakfast with the assistance of multiscale. Roost keeps it healthy, hurricane is a strong STAB move that does not miss in matchups against rain teams, body press can annoy steel types (cough cough Kingambit) while ice beam knocks out the ground type Pokemon it switches into.
Specially defensive wall that traps and removes certain Pokemon and spreads status. Has good type synergy with Dragonite - Dragonite comes in on the ground and fighting types that force Heatran out (even water types at times, e.g. Urshifu, Mega-Swampert even though it needs to watch out for ice punch) while Heatran handles fairy, ice and rock types fairly well.
Physically defensive pivot that clears away hazards and further patches up anything that can get through Dragonite/Heatran. Volt switch can bring in offensive teammates safely.
The lack of pivoting moves on this team make it reliant on good reads, but well-timed switches to get the offensive core onto the field will yield good results, while the defensive core is fairly sturdy against most of the metagame.

Dragonite @ Silk Scarf

Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Extreme Speed
- Fire Punch
- Dragon Dance
This is a pretty standard Dragonite set, mainly a late-game sweeper and cleaner taking out chipped down opponents with Extreme Speed. I decided to use Silk Scarf instead of Heavy-Duty Boots to increase the overall offensiveness of the team, however, they are interchangeable and it's not a drastic difference. Earthquake targets Gholdengo, Toxapex, and Kingambit while Fire Punch is nice for Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Kartana. Other than that, it's pretty default and not anything special.
Zamazenta @ Choice Band
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Wild Charge
- Crunch
- Ice Fang
Somehow this beast stayed in the tier so I decided to abuse it some more, Zamazenta is an excellent wallbreaker threatening out Kingambit, Weavile, and Garganacl which can be annoying for Dragonite. Wild Charge hits Toxapex, Tornadus-T, and Pelipper, Crunch checks Dragapult, Gholdengo, and Victini, and Ice Fang is great for Landorus-T, Garchomp, and in a pinch Zapdos. This is another basic set and for further information check out the analysis.
Kingambit @ Black Glasses
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 112 HP / 252 Atk / 144 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Pursuit
Choice Scarf Tapu Lele and Dragapult seemed very threatening so I decided to slot Kingambit. Iron Head targets Mega Diancie, Weavile, and the aforementioned Tapu Lele, Sucker Punch is nice for picking off Choice Specs Dragapult, weakened Volcarona, and Focus Blast Gholdengo, Knock Off is an overall great move that chips down switch-ins like Great Tusk, Landorus-T, and Rotom-W, making them easier to deal with. Pursuit lets Kingambit shine as a revenge killer, trapping many of the aforementioned threats.
Great Tusk @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Close Combat
- Ice Spinner
- Stealth Rock
This team required a Ground-type as well as entry hazards so I figured Great Tusk was a good choice. Another fairly standard set, I won't go too in depth on this one but its nice for checking Landorus-T with Ice Spinner as well as Kingambit. It's also a nice Mega Lopunny check
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Defog
This Rotom was originally holding a Choice Scarf but I figured I wanted a more stable Defog user due to Dragonite not having Heavy-Duty Boots. Hydro Pump is nice for opposing Great Tusk, Skeledirge, and Garganacl while Volt Switch allows it to pivot out of and deal some damage to Dragonite checks like Dondozo and Toxapex.
Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Diamond Storm
- Moonblast
- Mystical Fire
- Spikes
Mega Diancie was a Mega Scizor in the first draft of this team to check Fairy-types but I ended up wanting some more entry hazards and a check to Mega Charizard Y. Mystical Fire is interchangeable with Earth Power but now that Heatran has Tera Grass, I figured Diamond Storm is enough.WORK IN PROGRESS

CM Clefable + Hex Pult Status Spam
Some atypical choices, but I think they work well with the rest of the team (e.g. Mega-Absol provides a speedy physical attacker that can pursuit ghosts as well as a way of dealing with Kingambit with its access to sucker punch and close combat even if it does not take tera boosted sucker punches too well if chipped, Swampert is a nice specially defensive pivot that synergises well with Ferrothorn with its typing and access to stealth rock/flip turn). Spread status with Clefable, Dragapult, Zapdos (via static) and Swampert to boost Dragapult's hex while setting up hazards and knocking off boots to harass and chip down the opponent so Dragapult/Mega-Absol can either clean up or wallbreak for calm mind Clefable. Magic guard and magic bounce also forms somewhat of an anti-status core.
