Lakers trade Radmanovic for two shitty players? WTF?

Good deal for the Bobcats, Radmanovic will get some serious minutes and should contribute well.

A couple of Laker's notes:

1. Lebron all but showing up Kobe at MSG was amazing.

2. Morrisson to the Laker's was a steal and theft.

No way, Adam Morrison has wonderful potential. He averaged 11.8 ppg as a rookie, and then was out for an entire year with injury, receiving only 15 mpg this season. If he plays to his potential, he will be a wonderful pickup for the Lakers, where as Vlad shits me cause he takes too many 3's that could be better spent on shots to Gasol/Bryant/Bynum etc. Vlad didn't know his role with the Lakers, but hopefully Morrison will.

Not only that, but even if Morrison is a flop (which isnt much worse then Vlad), then the Lakers will have plenty more salary cap space. Its definitely a win for the Lakers here.

That should help the Bobcats tbh. It's not a bad deal at all (for either team, really).

Jason Terry breaking his finger is fucking bad though :(

I didn't know anything about Morrison, thanks for correcting me on that. I never thought about salary cap space either.

A broken finger? I wonder how long that sidelines him for.

Vlad Rad was also in the dog house, and has been for a while, so I think it was a good thing to rid themselves of him.

Good win against the Celtics Spurs!!! * Flame Shield ARMED AND READY *

Terry should be out for a while, so hopefully Barea will take advantage of the opportunity =P

And now Al Jefferson goes down.... really now, too many good players getting injured this season....

FUUUCK what the fuck is wrong with the Suns?! Actually don't answer that, I already know. Kerr better start getting on the phone lines or something...

Yeah the Suns are really underachieving this year. I guess age has finally caught up with Shaq.

Is it true that the Suns are open to trading Amare?

I wouldn't say that Shaq's the problem, he's averaging 18 and 9 this year. Amare needs to start showing up in the games, 19 and 6 against Philadelphia tonight, and they really have nobody who can match up to him. And yes, Amare's on the block.

Kerr pretty much said that everyone but Nash is open for trade talk, so yeah...

Detroit is another team that is struggling and needs to do something soon...

Because there window has closed really and they need to blow up and rebuild
Again though, why? The Suns were a winning team under D'Antoni, but ever since (mainly) Kerr and Porter came along, they've gone from elite to...well, barely hanging in there. I mean, granted trading Marion for Shaq wasn't the best of ideas way back when, but Shaq has proven he's still effective. I mean seriously, look who we've sold our players to:

Heat (sucky team): Marion
Bobcats (even worse than Miami): Bell and Diaw

What's next? Stoudamire to the Grizzlies? Barbosa to the Timberwolves? Why the heck are we trading good talent to horrid teams for their "star" players, whose stats are probably padded by the fact they play for the worse teams out there, and likely get the ball more than their other sucky teammates? I'll admit, even I've never bought into Stoudamire much, but trading him is still a bad move, as he is a good player. Bell was one of the better defenders for the Suns, and for a coach who wanted to improve upon defense, why trade one of your better defenders for someone who really isn't? Diaw...eh...still never liked him much after the 05 season tbh, though it looks like he's doing good with the Bobcats.

I really like this article and everyone should at least give it a look. I agree with what is said here and explains some of the reasons some weird trades have and will probably happen.

Personally, I actually liked the Shaq trade because it gave the Suns the option of fast break or run the offense through Shaq. What happened when Kerr came in is that he started to override the way D'Antoni coached: he started making rules, running practices, and essentially coaching the team himself, and that's why D'Antoni left for New York. Kerr, Suns' Ownership, and the fans got so greedy for a championship that they completely changed the team's identity when all they actually had to do was get some depth into the rotation, and that's why the team is in the state it's in today.

Now Kerr doesn't have choice but to rebuild, because the players aren't buying into the Terry Porter/Steve Kerr system, and it doesn't fit what they have. Terry Porter isn't going anywhere because that would be an admission of a mistake by the GM and owner, which doesn't happen. They know that Stoudamire can walk in 2010 and that he isn't going to re-sign with them, and they may let Steve Nash go after this year because he's slated to make a lot of money if they decide to keep him. They've also got Shaq, who will be making $20 million, and that contract's not going anywhere.

I also think the economy and the struggles in NBA attendance don't help. I think what hurts the NBA more is how much they overpay bad players.

Well, I agree with you on the Shaq part; I've always liked Shaq, and it was a thrill to get him. I just wish we hadn't given up Marion for him, even if he was turning into a bit of a whiner...

I also agree, Kerr is the main problem, he is hurting far more than he's ever helped, why the heck did we get him for? Ugh...I miss the old Suns, back when watching them was fun.

I thought it was a good move to give up Marion because I think he's really overrated.

The Suns trouble started when they're GM left for Toronto. Then they hired Steve Kerr, which a lot of people didn't mind. The team failed to get to the NBA finals because it didn't have enough depth even after the O'Neal trade, but instead of addressing the real problem, Kerr decided that he didn't like the way D'Antoni was running the team and ran it himself thanks to media and fan pressure. That caused D'Antoni to leave town the second he got the chance. Kerr hired Terry Porter, and the D'Antoni players aren't happy in Phoenix now, which is why the Richardson trade was made and why the team is where it is today.

Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks got traded for Jermaine O'Neal and Jamario Moon. I think this is a good trade for both sides. The O'Neal-Bosh experiment didn't work, and with the emergence of Bargiani they could afford to get rid of O'Neal. Marion gives Toronto a solid SF, and with Calderon throwing passes around he should see a small increase in scoring, even if not by much.

For the Heat, O'Neal gives them a much needed low post presence... if he can manage to stay healthy. It's a risky move, but the reward could be huge. Moon is a nice defender and will probably be the starter, but there is some competition there with Cook and James Jones around, and the Heat will try to find minutes for Beasley as well.
