Lakers in the finals. This is why he is the best player in basketball. When his team needs a win, he dominates.

Here I agree with RL; LeBron's game is nothing more than a product of an officiating era where simply driving to the basket is more than enough to draw a foul (even if the defender is going directly vertical and AVOIDING contact) whereas Kobe has actually developed his offensive game to something other than "bullrush the paint and hope for a call".

The Nuggets should not be ashamed. They lost to a good Kobe Bryant. If you can take Kobe Bryant to the limit to where he is so tired like that then you know you have played well. The LA Kobe Bryants are in the finals =D.

haha

The Nuggets really did play well though. J.R Smith looks like a player that could possibly give them the boost they need in the long run. Look forward to see them again next year.

Denver is great .. no one expected them to get this far. Cavs are making it to the finals because the NBA is rigged. Stern is going to rig the next couple of games and make the Cavaliers win. Stern knows Cavs-Lakers is what the fans want (Kobe vs Lebron) and he is going to force it either way. Last year the hype was Boston vs Lakers, now it is leaning towards Cavaliers vs Lakers.

If, hypothetical if that did happened and it was Lakers vs Cavs....I don't even know who I'd root for honestly.

Lakers have become the Yankees of Basketball with how much so many people seem to hate them. And that the Lakers are now a hit or miss, a love or hate kinda thing. The Cavaliers are annoying because I feel as if they get too much hype considering they really are a one(two on occasion) man show.

Rather than Lakers vs Cavaliers I would rather see the two teams who have the most complete and really best teams out there face each other. And that would be Orlando vs LA.

Orlando is a team and very underrated. They are often overshadowed in the Eastern Conference by the Cavaliers and Boston. Couple of days ago Howard was pissed because his team wasn't getting enough respect and whenever they would win the reporters would consider it "an upset" and a "disappointment". It makes him or his team feel like they don't have the potential to go to the Finals and potentially win it all. People are vouching too hard on Cavs vs Lakers. Howard states that he uses the Cavs vs Lakers mentality of the fan to boost their confidence every game and to prove everyone wrong. It's about to happen as in only 8 teams in the entire history came back from a 3-1 deficit.

It's not a 3-1 deficit anymore. The last game is no longer relevant to calculating the "odds" of Cleveland winning the series, not that historical precedence in such a category really matters except to say what is already obvious.

Grats Lakers, I really wanted to see Denver in the finals but the Lakers were definitely a more complete team. Regardless of who comes out of the East, I don't see it being a great matchup for LA.

You do realize that its happened recently with Phoenix and Los Angeles (06 playoffs I believe). It's not out of the question.

That said, Cleveland is extremely over-hyped and Orlando has shown that a perimeter oriented team with enough weapons is an extremely tough team to take down, especially anchored by Howard in the middle. Cleveland probably loses tomorrow.

speaking of that last recent 3-1 thing, it's the same one that kobe threw away game 7 in lol.

anyways, the difference between kobe and lebron is, skillwise, kobe is superior but lebron's skill set combined with his physical attributes makes him better right now in both their current state. and the fact that lebron is hungrier than kobe, as he actually wants a ring period, whereas kobe only wants one without shaq. that makes lebron the better player imo. but of course i'd still rather have kobe take the last shot any day of the week.

plus, kobe's a jerk :(

personally, i think chris paul is a bit overrated. he's like a career 2-11 against deron williams, got beat by tony parker in playoffs last year, only beat the mavs last year because kidd was trying to guard him, and this year got raped by chauncey billups. he just can't really perform against 'good guards'

it's not like his team is utter trash too. dont get me wrong, cpaul has good skills and is a great playmaker, but he is kinda ball dominant, so when he has a bad game, hornets have absolutely 100% no chance to win. no one else can do anything because cpaul has the ball in his hand every. single. possession. and it's not like other pgs either cause he'll hold it for like 14 seconds every time. but that's just my opinion

wade is still a beast, definitely needs better supporting cast

That's not it. Cavs have to beat Orlando at their homecourt to tie it. Chances are very low and if they win this, they still need to win back at their homecourt. Chances are slim but if Cavabron's win tomorrow, I would be very nervous.

And for those arguing who is better and what not. Lebron is younger and is physically gifted. A hand-full of talent and driving ability paired with a body like a tank with great speed and body control. Its hard to stop something like that. It's extra hard when he is nailing those jump shots and mixing it up with his almost-unstoppable-drives. Not to mention the fact he attracts the double-teams and the rare triple-team which he can utilize to rack up his assists. Overall he is the perfect package. Now in terms of overall career, face it, Kobe will have a better overall career than Lebron. Lebron will decline real quick as he gets older. The reason being is that Lebron is physically gifted to help aid his skills. Face it, his jumpshot is not perfect. When he ages and his body gets old and weak. He will loose his durability and athlethiscm, what will he rely on? His jumpshots? Please. If he works on it in the long run he is set. IF ANYTHING, I predict Kobe having a better career but as of today, Lebron is better due to his age. Don't get me wrong Kobe is still fearsome in the playoffs and is hungry for those Finals MVP (the one Shaq stole)

lol lebron can still develop his jmpshot. kobe couldn't shot THAT well 6 years ago. he had to develop that right block turnaround that he's like 100% on and those ridiculous flat footed rise up 3's. hell even jordan wasn't that great a shooter but then he developed that unblockable fadeaway. lebron could eventually add that, who knows

Yes that's true. If anything, if he don't develop that jump shot and he starts aging. He is going to end up as a 16-19 PPG player.

Personally, I think LeBron is older than 24 right now (look at his body... he is a MAN)... with that being said.. him maturing so quick IMO will make his decline come a little earlier than people expect... say... early thirties (rather than late)

Horrible criteria.

Or, just tossing this out there, he could be someone who is great their entire career; born a gifted athlete and works at it to make it better than it should be.

All year long, when LA makes a concerted effort to center the offense around Gasol, they're very, very hard to stop. Ever since they got him last year and I saw him and Odom and later Bynum playing tippy tap in the paint as well as high post/low post reversals, I really think Kobe doesn't even need to average more than 22-24 points per for that team to dominate. I used to have a statistic somewhere that showed when Gasol was the top scorer for LA their record was something like 90 percent...Lemme try and find it.
And I agree with NightFalcon, the incredible season CP3 just had as a point guard in history's perspective has been lost in the Kobe/Lebron media mire. Considering Chandler's injury problems, the step back West took this year, the absence of any competent back up point guard whatsoever, and Byron Scott, the consistent dominance that Paul had to put on every night just for the Hornets to compete is just mindboggling. And, I mean, as a basketball watcher, isn't it so enjoyable to watch this guy come down the court and make great decisions time and time again at a assist/turnover ratio unprecedented among the elite one guards? He's not a physical beast like LBJ, or a scoring machine like Kobe, he's like this puny 6 foot guy who dominates the game!

Yeah, but you could say that any guard that penetrates benfits from the officiating, so that argument doesn't really hold any ground, although I'd give you that Kobe's a better shooter and a better scorer than LeBron. If you ask me, the difference is that Kobe's team wins when other players well, and LeBron's team wins when LeBron plays well. Don't believe me? Check out tonight's box score and check out the Lakers' record with Pau Gasol/Shaq.

lol calm down, shaq was the best player in the league for the years that kobe won a championship. give lebron/wade/cpaul/tmac/pierce/vince anyone the 2000-2002 shaq and they win a championship. pretty simple
