np: Suspect Test - Deoxys-S

Sure, you waste your time with that, meanwhile a Gyarados/Salamence will happily Dragon Dance simultainuously and call it a sweep. Or you could let the screens stay active and directly counter the real threat, which is the opposition boosting their stats with game-breaking moves like Swords Dance or Dragon Dance. Either way, their strategy is effectively causing you great difficulty.

Sure, you waste your time with that, meanwhile a Gyarados/Salamence will happily Dragon Dance simultainuously and call it a sweep.

But it almost never works out that way in practice. Deoxys needs to switch out after putting up the screens so that something else can reap the benefits, but the Brick Break user can just come in on Deoxys first turn and get rid of any screens the second turn, so even if the user switches out there is no net benefit.

The Deoxys-S owner is still capable of setting up a Dragon Dance, which is all Gyarados / Salamence needs to cause severe damage to the opponent, right? Salamence / Gyarados still sets up a free Dragon Dance, without much concern.

I don't think we have even weighed in how many movesets carry Brick Break regulary on their sets; most Fighting-types prefer Close Combat, while non-STABed Brick Breaks we encounter are considerably low. It's not even a scenario worth debating, to be honest.

I can only think of weavile. One of the main arguments against Wobb being in OU was how he could guarantee the set up of another pokemon. I think Deoxys as well works almost perfectly in allowing something to set up, and whatever bit it lacks in that department is made up for with SR/spikes, a move thats importance has been stressed by the amount of suicide leads seen. Taunt is a very powerful weapon, and it's about useless against Deoxys, who just about always goes first... That said, the revenge killer set is still rather effective though I decided (and I've been open about it) that I'll most likely vote Deoxys as uber.

DS Deoxys is why I have Brick Break on my lead weavile. I Fake Out first turn, then I Pursuit as they set up a screen, then I Brick Break as they set up Stealth Rocks, then I Ice Shard for the KO. They sacrificed an entire pokemon for Stealth Rocks alone, and I get mine up later on in the match anyways.

So they started off essentially 5-6, and they got maybe 2-3 switches worth of SR damage ahead of me for it.

That only works if the deoxys leads though, Weavile cant switch into Deoxys generally, unless it knows it is the DS version.

Pokemon like Scizor or Metagross are generally more effective as brick breakers in this case because they are good switches into any Deoxys (ok not Scizor in the case of a Firepuncher, but people generally will be willing to rely on Scizor as a switch in against Deoxys).

Have a nice day.

The final list will be pulled tomorrow night, so you have roughly a day and a half to get your ratings up.

Never mind, I have met both the requirements as "Syberia."

My record on Syberia drifted back down, so I've met the suspect requirements on Syberia and the standard ladder requirements on lol nub.

I reached #13 on the OU leaderboard as capsaicin, now I just got to work on getting my Suspect rating up. (probably not going to have time for this unfortunately)

Okay, I think I'm done now. My Suspect Rating was in the low 1200's so I had to ladder for a while tonight, but I've managed to qualify:

Standard:
Rating: 1731
Deviation: 49

Suspect:
Rating: 1652
Deviation: 51

I'm hoping that will stay, as I can't play tomorrow :(

The final list will be collected roughly 12 hours from now. Good luck to everyone working to get their voting eligibility.

when does the deviation increase for not playing games. because i currently am at the required rating, but i am leaving my house and not coming back until tomorrow morning?

They should post a list with maybe two hours to go, pretty sure my account AbCd 1234 made the cut, but I would just like to be sure.

Awesome, I just made the list a little earlier today as Bologo-testing. It required quite a bit of time to get my poor suspect test rating up to par (with really low deviation to add to the struggle), but with enough winning streaks, it finally got up there. :D

I'm Twist of Fate., just incase I manage to make the voting cutoff with my close deviation (I can't shoddy today, too busy).
