Official NBA 2010-11 Season Thread

Damn 3 games already? Only 79 more to go oshi-
Well when you're labeled a "superstar" and cant even come close to breaking 20 points in a system that will pretty much get you open looks when they try to double Lebron, its safe to say you wont see Bosh dropping anywhere near 22-23+ a game this season

Riiiiiight. Oh and Rondo will average 20+ assists this season too right?

ITT: Generalizations made 3 games into the season

Rondo had one game of 20+ assists... Bosh hasnt even broken 15 points while playing major minutes.... The dude shies away against any tough team, if half of the heat bandwagoners watched any basketball they couldve seen this coming instead of just LOL WE GOT 3 SUPERSTARS 10 RINGS LETS GET IT

Shies away against any tough team eh? So who was that Bosh fellow pounding any Magic player who happened to wander into the paint? You know, the guy who out rebounded Dwight Howard?

If you actually watched that game, you would've seen Bosh was going hard the entire game (he didn't shoot 8 free throws for shying from contact). Granted he had a frenzied crowd feeding him but to say he was invisible or soft would be wildly inaccurate.

Howard wasn't out-rebounded because of Bosh's play; he was out-rebounded because of foul trouble and because it's much easier to get defensive rebounds than offensive ones. And how was the Magic's shooting percentage, exactly?

How about the fact that Bosh, in the past 3 seasons has never had one good game against Boston? Dwight isnt exactly what I call tough... Garnett is the definition of tough who nobody messes with and Bosh has literally never played good anytime Garnett is on the floor..

And yeh, 8 free throws is an amazing amount, that doesnt sound like what a big man of his ability should be having each game... Lets not mention his 2-9 from the field though

The only two "he's gonna be great!" bandwagons I have been on in college basketball ever have been Kevin Love and Kevin Durant, so I am enjoying Simmons recently.

"Day 3 of the Kevin Love Hostage Crisis. He only threw up a 17-16 in 27 mins last night. Where is Ted Koppel??? #freekevinlove"

14 points, 13 rebounds today, incredibly his exact season average...25 minutes (just under his season average!). He is the best rebounding player on the team, WHY WILL THE COACH NOT FUCKING PLAY HIM!! This is turning into "2004-2008 Detroit Lions" territory for the whole team decisionmaking, GM, owner, coach, everything.

I will say that his FG has been pretty bad this season (today bumped it to 34%), but that will rise presumably, and meanwhile he is only averaging a bajillion rebounds a minute...fucking staggering. It is not like he is Reggie Evans here.

bosh did pretty well against garnett last year...

jan 10 9-17 13-13 31 13 4 2 2
jan 2 11-15 3-4 25 9 1 1 1
nov 27 9-13 2-2 20 13 1 2 0

64.4 fg% 94.7 ft% 25.3 ppg 11.3 rpg 2 apg

the year before that though he did absolutely shitty so ehh

If I had to go back on it, I probably would do it a little bit different, but I'm happy with the decision I made. There's always going to be a misunderstanding. I don't know what I would [have done], but I definitely would have changed it.

Okay guys, now that he admits he did the decision the wrong way, what unfounded reason will you use attack his character now?

I hope that wasnt serious lol.... They even said they almost kicked Lebron off the redeem team due to his immaturity and how he could be a cancer to that team until Nike told him to cool it down... So yeh, he really redeemed his image there by apologizing for "the decision"

Uh huh, and Kobe wasn't ripping his teammates and coaches just a few years ago while crying to be traded.

Nope, LeBron must be perfect at 22 years of age while everyone else has been a pillar of maturity.

Look, I don't have problem with you bringing that up (it is true after all) but it's pretty moot to knock LeBron for something he was "warned" for, let alone did but act as if no one else has done anything even remotely immature during that time period.

Did I ever say Kobe was mature? lol I know about his past, this isnt a Kobe/Lebron debate. He went a little far with a white girl, he probably didnt rape her but he just went a little too far and cheated on his wife... When management put guys like smush parker and Chris Mihm around him and said go win us games, he vented his fustration in the wrong way by taking it to the media and trashing Bynum on a cell phone video.

Lebron is literally almost as immature but how can you blame him? The media and fans ride his jock 24/7 and if you had attention like he does why wouldnt you have an inflated ego? He proved it by dragging out his free agency for no reason. Nobody would've hated him for forming a super team if he handled it better. He wasted hours of multiple team's time and worst of all, he destroyed his home town team. He said," ok Cleveland, instead of maybe getting some value in return heres a couple first round picks that probably wont be worth anything and im gonna trash you guys when I announce my decision live on TV....

You know what, the decision was nice because it raised money for the boys and girls club of america... But if you really wanted to raise money, you could've had a kiss Lebrons ass day and probably raised more money then the decision did. And lets not forget, when Kobe was a free agent there never was any talk about holding his decision live on tv... Nor did any other big name free agent even think of doing something so stupid

Wait you're telling me you don't remember that big hoopla what with Kobe announcing his "Decision" on radio?
Him saying "I dont want to be a Laker anymore" on steven A smiths radio show then retracting it isnt anywhere close to the level lebron's free agency was on. Dont be stupid now Kobe didnt leave people on the edge of their seat then jerk them for 2 years

Okay guys, now that he admits he did the decision the wrong way, what unfounded reason will you use attack his character now?

Unfounded? The guy has acted like a proverbial "manchild", a guy who lets everyone tell him what to do and he follows because he is eager for adulation and loving his posse and whatever the fuck else. Whether or not he admits anything (after a summer of being hated, not exactly making his admission credible) does not change the fact he did it. I personally loved it, he was so completely joyless on the show that you could see "this is one of the biggest p.r. disasters of all time unfolding" well before any announcement of his Dwayne Wade's team selection for him.

oh man i dont even know how you can even begin to defend a kobe maturity debate

#1: constantly whines on the court, no exceptions. literally always has a bad facial expression for every call that doesnt go his way
#2: off court issues: aka he raped a girl. enough said.
#3: is not as good as he is given credit for. never EVER shot more than 46% for a season (durant has already done it once, jordan 7-8 times). literally did not do shit with his team after shaq left and before gasol came. lebron singlehandedly got his team to the FINALS with a mediocre at best supporting cast... and then finished top 4 almost every year after that.
(just for reference, lebron has only had ONE year where he shot UNDER 47%.. which was his rookie year.)

tl;dr: kobe is a (BAN ME PLEASE), lebron is a better at basketball (BAN ME PLEASE)

This post owns hard.

As popular as it is to hate Lebron and even as a lifelong Cleveland sports fan, I still don't hate him. He's deep into his career and the worst thing he's done off the court is a PR blunder, the worst thing on the court was not shake his opponent's hand. Sure, he's a big spoiled baby like EVERY OTHER superstar, but he's a decent human being and the best basketball player on the planet.

I'll give him a pass on his poor decision as a thank you for bringing a horrendous Cleveland team to the finals and single-handedly making me care about the NBA again.

Lakers fans are a typical breed of fans of the team that lays the golden goose, pretending everything about their team is fast times and good feelings. I hate to say it, but like the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990s pretty much...Anyway Kobe is a jackass, the only way you can defend him is being a fanboy of him, but then again everyone feels about their fanboy player a little differently than everyone else. I definitely feel like Nowitzki puts up the best performances in the NBA, when realistically he is infalliable in many games of course, but more than that has only been the best NBA player one playoffs run.

(sorry for the poor grammar here, being sleepy is really making my thinking go to haywire)
