I'm like you also. My teams aren't really suited for the rules. I'm really trying to think of a team I can come up with, breed, figure out the counters for, and work in Platinum moves. All dealing with a deadline. I don't know why they had Sleep Clause in JAA and not VGS.

yeah well the tourny isnt until may right? so you have all that time to decided and practice.
I looked through them, and didn't see someone with a serebii shirt. I think I remember seeing someone, though, with a serebii shirt. I don't remember what he looked like or anything though. :P
ok well for most who dont know, Micuat's showdown is today during his time zone its 11:30am my time zone in florida is 21:30 its currently 21:14 for me. so Micuat show be arriving there now or waiting there. i honestly hope he does good so i may see him in the 2009 finals for showdown. =D i also heard the guy tht won second place in 2008 showdown is going to be there. so there is gonig to be alot of competition. i hope SeadraDS or era404 will be there that way there will be videos to watch. =D

im hoping its micuat and his team. wich i dont know if he is runnig the same team as the one for the tourny on smogon so i wont say it.

sorry but its late and i got to go to sleep now. but since im not an ass i tell you. he told me.lol =D i pm'd him for a battle but he was getting ready to leave and so i wished him good luck. =D also im not really sure if it the final but its his tourny and i cheering for him to win. actually i would like to see some videos so im also hoping people like era404 and seadraDS are there so i may watch what they recorded. maybe we'll see a finals match with micuat in it. =D but ill have to wait till tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I lost at qualify, round 2. I was not so confident in my Rain Dance team so I used Trick Room team, and this was the first mistake. I was nervous so that I used Earthquake with my Metagross against my Heatproof Bronzong, lol. Though it was a close battle and became 2vs2, Smeargle Snorlax and Kingdra Metagross, I couldn't predict Metagross's Explosion then I lost the match.
I can only say that I learned much from this tourney, and I'll prepare for the rechallenging touney in March.
I'll post results afterwards.

micuat, look though its sad that you lost...i still have to call you an idiot! the part i bolded in my oppinion, that was your only mistake. since you have been coming on here to smogon you have posted how great raindance teams are and you even battled me with that same team that you said yourslef is awsome. what im trying to say is that you have to have faith in your own team and skill. well anyways good luck in march.
also i dont know if it would do anything for you but. i can help you in your doubles strategy and battles. =D
You should have stuck with your rain team IMO, since that is what you have been practicing with it. but ah well, you will do good in the rechallenging tournament. ;)
its a real shame he lost.
well see the way i look at it explosion is a last resort attack. for example if you know your going to win the match and your opponent has only 2 pokemon left then you use it. also i HIGHLY recomend having all your pokemon with a protect or detect attack.
I had accidentally thought that he has used his rain team, but then realized my mistake. So I edited my post. but yeah, I am sure he'll do better next time. ;)

PBB- micuat was using the Trick Room team, so he was trying to beat the Kingdra and the Metagross with his Smeargle and Snorlax. His opponent was the one who used explosion to win.(Edit: Nevermind, PBB types faster than me)
viperGTS-Yes Explosion is worth the risk, explosion was one of the reasons micuat lost, but it depends on the team imo. My Metagross did not use Explosion since I used a Trick Room team, and PBB's Metagross didn't use Explosion either because he used Trick Room too. However, if you are using any other team besides Trick Room with Metagross in it, Explosion is definitely worth the risk.

Disappointed that you lost micuat, but I'm glad to hear that you can get a second chance! That's pretty sweet, but it's a pity that they probably won't do that for any other locations, like the US.
I'm thinking of preparing a Shiftry/Cherrim combo, but what nature and attacks should I use for Shiftry, outside of Fake Out and Explosion? (Something like Grassknot/Solarbeam + Dark Pulse?) Should I max speed? It seems a little redundant, but it could help in beating other Shiftry to the Fake Out, I suppose.
In regards to that other team I posted a while back (which was Lucario+Ghost+the Lati twins) I'm deciding on maybe using either Machamp or Hariyama with Thick Fat to replace Lucario and finalizing on using Spiritomb over Dusknoir. I will still breed Lucario and Gengar just in case, though. ;3 The toughest part is choosing the ideal member to compliment Spiritomb, who will use Trick Room to my team's advantage and Pain Split+Sucker Punch/Shadow Sneak as its main attacks (or Dark Pulse over the priority moves).
I'm also working on creating a more defensive team (in 2v2?! am I crazy?!), focusing primarily on using Light Screen+Reflect, but we'll see how far I get with that!

... Just so you know, Spiritomb can't learn Trick Room.
Alas, the misery of it all! I must has subconsciously assumed that it did, without bothering to properly check a source! Dusknoir it is then, I suppose.
