ouch, dude where did that come from.
It wasn't an attack on Expert Evan. Most people who know the situation found it pretty funny, and it's not like EE got the loss, they just restarted the match. Why I chose that situation is simple though. If you can't use the pressure to your advantage like TDS is having trouble with, then you should take your mind off the pressure of having to win in order to win the trip(ex. thinking of something funny in order to raise your confidence level)then you are at less risk of choking.

Round 4 vs Diego with rhyperior, togekiss, machamp & blissey
Boy was I nervous and therefore accidentally hit ran and almost got disqualified. They were nice enough to let me continue so long as I chose my same starting 2 again.
Here's my suggestion, make sure you know what moves all your pokemon have and if you change your mind at any point, make sure the button you're pressing says "Back" instead of "Run". As simple as that.

So my opponent and I won't knwo what kind of Pokemon we are facing until we have reached the finals or so? Both a blessing and a hinderance I suppose.

On a side note, I wonder how many people will be bringing a Obi-Mode backup team to battle with, jic they feel like overwhelming those of us who are less competitive.

box trick. Ev them, put in pc and when you withdraw them, they will have the ev's. doesn't work for lv. 100's though

Anyone pick up their copy of platinum yet?
Funny how no one has talked about it, because you NEED PLATINUM to get in this tourney, lol.

Wow, you are right. However, I don't think we need to say whether we have picked it up or not as this topic is for the discussion of the tournament. It's best to assume that anyone from America (and as far as we know you have to be from America, Japan, or Europe to join this) already has their Platinum ready. It would be good for us to discuss ways of organizing Doubles tournaments (maybe either Platinum or NetBattle?)

Thanks for the info Micuat, I'm hoping Izuru(molf) or the kaaa guy will place in the next block, and I hope you win the whole thing at the rechallenging tournament. Just to add some more info to the winning Sandstorm team that I gathered from the battle recorder(It could have been someone else who used the exact same team but with different movesets, but it's unlikely)so some of you may have seen the team already, but his Registeel has Rest/Amnesia/Seismic Toss/I forget, but I think it was a defense raising move. His Cresselia had Psyche Up and Rest which is all I remember.

In what section of the Battle Recorder did you manage to find the battle? Any chance you saved it and could post the Recording Number?

I used my Japanese platinum, but I just searched for the Pokemon Hippowdon under the 4th option iirc(In English it probably says something along the lines of 4v4 double cup) and a match between that exact team and a rain dance team was one of the matches displayed. I didn't save it, but it might still be there so you'll have to check.

one of you main established guys need to start a tournament test tournament (if that makes sense) using showdown rules... it would be way better then just finding out that netbattle won't work on a mac. Is it still called showdown rules, or Champion Series rules?

If you absolutely need to use Netbattle on OSX, go download and install WINE and you should be able to run it.

noob to shoddy...

I guess it's just because I've never tried it, but why would anyone want to "test battle" on a computer program when you could just go to the battle tower or friend code somebody. Wouldn't that be more reliable than some non-Nintendo-licensed computer program?

And again, I'm asking because I've never tried it.
