FREEDOMAlakazam: Arguably the strongest wallbreaker in the meta, thanks to its great Speed tier, monstrous Special Attack, and excellent coverage moves, Alakazam has been dominating the tier during its time on the LCOTM ladder. A great post by Discordual says most of what the Council wanted to say, although we should also note that Alakazam could viably run No Guard and Sheer Force to wildly increase the power and reliability of its coverage moves, at the cost of losing out on Expanding Force. Frankly, Alakazam has become too much, and is now banned due to its lack of reliable counters.
Gonna use this post to also talk about one of my favorite pokemon right now
A powerful rat... named Togedemaru.
I'm most likely going to get meme'd on here, but Togedemaru is a very interesting role compressor, It's immune to poison and paralysis and resistances to some of the strongest types in the metagame. Its also got 3 abilities that help it out:
Lightning Rod - Deals with Koko and Eleki
Iron Barbs (+Rocky Helmet) - Possibly one of the best abilities to have natively, smacks U-Turn pivoting Corvi and minor physical chipping
Sturdy - useful for smacking that one big threat that scares any team.
I'm personally using it as one of the funniest ganks of all time
behold
oof ouch (Togedemaru) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Zing Zap
- Iron Head
- Endeavor
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

U-Turn is the obvious pivot, with Dual Stabs and Endeavor to abuse Sturdy with.
Water Absorb not only stops Weather Ball Zapdos dead in it's tracks, but also tickles rain teams with the surprise ability. It also helps recover health when being chipped by U-Turn to be able to proc Sturdy again
The best fact is: its funny
I will probably update this post to include a collection of confusion from my opponents. Have fun being funny
