I just want to know the method for transforming into B/W Kyurem. It had better not be like Meloetta's >.>

According to Pokejungle, the preview for next month's issue of Corocoro states that it will announce and showcase a new pokemon. GIMME DAT GEN. 5.5!

But seriously, what it could it be? Could be Genesect, but if it is, they're really wanting finish this Gen. I personally think it a new forme of an existing pokemon, there were rumors that Cryogonal is getting a new forme.........

The way i see it is it has to be something new, because revealing genesect would mean a new movie, and that can't happen ;]

1:16/1:18

doesn't look like kyurem forms we've been seeing. The green? are they shiny? I don't think they would show off shiny pokemon in a trailer. Overdrive anyone?

Compare it to the forms on the cover, they look different certainly.

They do have much more red and blue than previous pics. Actually, looking back, neither previous pics or the original resh/zek have any red or blue. I guess thats overdrive, now just to find out what it does.

Ir seems most people don't realize there are five different Kyruem designs that were revelead a long time ago.

Kyurem: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/c/c3/646Kyurem.png
Black Kyruem: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/1/16/646Kyurem-Black.png
White Kyurem: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/8/81/646Kyurem-White.png
Sparkling Blue Black Kyurem: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/d/de/646Kyurem-Black2.png
Burning Red White Kyurem: http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/2/26/646Kyurem-White2.png

You'll see that ordinary Kyurem has some "plugs" on his apparently broken off wings that the Black/White forms also inherit (just behind their shoulders).
Both Black and White Kyurem have circular indentations/marks on their tails and in the powered up formes the tail the wing plugs get connected by tubes.

IMO, a typing change is strongly implied by the Sparkling/Burning formes because the body is now being fed with Electricity/Fire from the tails (before anyone gets confused, I know ordinary Black/White Kyurem are still Dragon/Ice).
My theory is that the transition (to Sparkling/Burning formes) will be brought about by use of the Black/White Kyurem's Signature Moves but that's just a guess.

Partial wishful thinking but...

It's also possible that the charge turn on Freeze Shock/Ice Burn only applies to Normal Kyurem - the only forme that can exist in the original Black/White.
Let's assume Kyurem's forme change is Deoxys-style and it can only be tutored Ice Burn/Freeze Shock in BW2 where it is always in Black or White formes.
If such a Kyurem is traded back to BW it will revert to Normal Kyurem and still know the signature moves but they'll have a charge turn. Since Normal Kyurem will always get STAB that could be for balancing.
However, if the effect in BW2 is to put Kyurem into Overdrive and change it's secondary type, they'd still be powerful moves but less devastating without STAB and no charge turn.
So here's to hoping they don't force us to use horrible moves for some other effect. At least Relic Song is pretty good.

They don't need an useless gimmick that does nothing but adding like 3 seconds in the overworld for that, they could have made the Unova pokemon overworld sprites during the development of the new games as seen in this pic:
achroma2.png

This looks like Crustle overworld sprite.

Was that screenshot from the trailer? I don't remember seeing that, looks interesting. Also the movie thing is very interesting, you can see a green screen and theres the "clip" board thingy (the thing they snap at action). Also glad we can finally put the whole frozen over unova to rest. Also anyone know what the rival is saying to the "Team Plasma" people?

Man, so pumped for this.

From Pokejungle, about that scientist dude:
His other quotes include “Oh how rude of me! I am Achroma, a scientist” and “With the tool that I created that ‘activates’ Pokémon…”
Please let him turn into a DW ability tutor...

Beneath the ice on the east side, if you look good you will notice that the beach near Undella town is smaller and in the sea are islands.

cannot resist urge to comment on CoroCoro leak:

- The Kyurem formes got taller than the original Kyurem, Zekrom, and Reshiram, but not heavier. That is logic right there.

- Two years, I wonder what else could have happened other than what we already know, which is a lot

- They dried up the water around the Entralink. Drought in that area maybe? inner area changed as well, points to more major changes. Keldeo/Meloetta/Genesect via Entralink anyone?

- The ice is clearly fake, so GameFreak is being secretive :0

- North and East Unova is covered by ice. More development here? Has Opelucid been changed, since it has some ice on it? Changes for Kyurem/something else anyone?

- At least two new towns and at least one new route: obviously awesome new stuff, maybe new gym towns?

- they finished the road between Castelia and Nimbasa: might this mean we get to explore the east side of the desert now, with the construction stuff gone?

- we have a new building in front of Nimbasa, maybe just a gateway but hopefully something better, maybe with binoculars and some trainers. who knows, maybe we'll even get a team's secret base in the form of a store or something. by that I mean like a mall, maybe slots, or even a new transportation system/way to the underwater tunnels

- new area to the east of the Ferris Wheel: Keldeo's cave maybe, just maybe? or a villain secret base, side quest area, or just new area to explore to meet someone important to the story/get an item

- with the Driftveil lighthouse gone, probably by the meteors or maybe by our new villain(s). maybe how Kyurem changes formes?

- route 4 settlement, people to see, new areas to explore

- Liberty Garden revamp+shown on map - maybe we'll get Victini without an event this time. or maybe someone captured Victini. or maybe Victini is somewhere totally different, and they figure that there is no harm in putting it on the map

- Driftveil storage & construction gone: new areas to explore, new people to meet, maybe a way to sail somewhere. that might be stretching it a tad, but maybe to some islands or the battle frontier, hopefully (but likely not) Hoenn. on the battle frontier, maybe the subway could be the frontier as well

- missing part of a mountain on the east side of Unova, some buildings there, again, new place to explore, possibly location of Kyurem formes/Keldeo/random Meloetta or Genesect. maybe the location of the new move tutors? just a thought.

- Challenger's Cave disappeared: now underground, or still there but just not shown, or a chamber for a legendary, or new area

- webbing that initially blocks Chargestone Cave gone: obviously, they took it away before. but maybe the Joltik/Galvantula were captured or something

- 300 pokemon, or a total of 144 more: that's cool but the Pokedex #'s are interesting as well. Riolu at #33 and Psyduck at #28 probably means, based on previous editions of a regional Pokedex, that we will be able to get theses Pokemon early on. hopefully this means I can have Lucario on my in-game team and maybe Golduck, but I probably wouldn't use it. we also have Metagross at #264, which means it could be obtainable at any point in the game, so maybe we'll get that for the main story as well. Arcanine, Lapras, Mareep, Tyranitar, Buneary, Lucario, and Weavile as well, all cool in-game Pokemon if they make them so. Eevee included "might" mean we get new eeveelutions, Flying- or Dragon-type hopefully if so.

- male is underwhelming, but I like the female one

- new rival, childhood friend, the usual. maybe an actual cute back-story this time? "From now, I'm going to rage!" there has to be a reason for that

- chic with a guitar, Homika, Poison-type gym leader: Amoonguss Porii Sames? we also got her gym as a music club, if only pokemon was rated M. maybe some somewhat revealing chics though. cool stuff

- tanned dude with a bathing suit, Shizui: GF, you have fallen to even lower standard where a swimmer can be a Water-type gym leader. maybe he's like the lord of them or we'll get (please!!!) a swimming side-quest/main-quest portion. but he's big-hearted and a big brother, so maybe we'll get some decent stuff from is younger brother(s). multiple gym leaders/co-gym leaders possibly?

- new researcher named Akuroma: I heard a rumor that this was a Ghetsis with a diff. art style (the new eyes), and cut and died hair. probably not true, but still. he's researching Pokemon strength, doing something regarding the latent abilities of Pokemon, also mysterious and hard to read. have a gut feeling it's the new villain, either a remnant of Team Plasma, Ghetsis, or part of a new team.

- Hiougi City new starting place in southwest, suggests the already-obvious development in the southwest. also the home of the new character, likely the rival too. it has a Pokemon Center and a Trainer's School, which suggests that there is more to do here. it's also a city, which suggests there is an absolute TON to do here. we also have a lookout, which we might need to spot something, or maybe just like binoculars in previous games

- we got an arena somewhere, some cool possibilities. the underwater tunnel suggests travel to new locations/yay use of Dive and maybe, just maybe to Hoenn. Mantine in the tunnel suggests it will be in the regional Pokedex. pokemon film studio filming an action series, maybe we'll get to be on film as sidequest or even (please) part of the main quest.

- Absol and Pelipper, I like Absol and Pelipper will be my HM slave (maybe)

- regular trainers have animations, a cool touch

- water gym (probs Shizui's) has a lily pad puzzle, which should be fun

- 48 page manga book, probably some back story to one of the "new" or event Pokemon

- New Pokemon Scoop, which could be anything but hopefully will be a new Pokemon, but likely will just be Kyurem formes/Meloetta/Keldeo/Genesect

This is old news, but I actually like that the Kyurem formes stay Dragon-Ice. It doesn't ruin the flavor of either forme, and without Stealth Rock in play it's really good typing. Hopefully, GF will do these formes justice and we'll see a rise in Rapid Spinners to accommodate them.

- I see that Homika has a gym that is kind of evil looking, referring to to the Poison-type. I also see what looks like a hovering/flying NPC. the possibilities of flying, maybe for the player character. fun.

- Shizui on a beach that houses a mysterious cave: maybe a legendary Pokemon chamber or a new area likely

- beach hut, dock, standing on water, we'll be surfing/sailing somewhere

- player's city looks like it would be expansive, and the player has a random garden, nice touch. another beige building

- trainer school, with pokemon center and different building. even more suggesting that the starting city will be expansive

- mountains & trees on Hiougi lookout, proves we are starting in the southwest, but one other thing. a crater!!!!!!!!!!!! new area to explore, Kyurem's chamber, or even better!!!

- unusual building along Battle Frontier-style buildings. please, please, please. yes!!!!

- modern, shiny tiles, huge marketplace. cool stuff, maybe we'll even get it in the starting town

I didn't notice the wires in the tail before, and the overdrive with the tails, but this might mean what has been said here about Overdrive a new ability, negating the recharge turn possibly, a possibility.

That is the crap ton I have to say, so cheers!

EDIT:

@Tytus: That would be cool for a DW ability tutor, but other possibilities include a move tutor, changing Kyurem's formes, and getting Genesect's Drives.

Man, so pumped for this.

I'm thinking that the green screen/movie might be this game's version of contests/musicals (pure speculation). I know that the first time I tried out a musical, I was all "I want those three minutes of my life back!" I remember the original contests and the Pokeathlon being quite engrossing for me. Having that degree of influence over the outcome was sort of what made it that way, I guess...have yet to try sinnoh's "super contests" due to the dance portion.

As for the protagonist art...am I the only one that saw the girl and immediately compared her hairstyle to Sailor Moon's infamous "meatball head"?

If the ice is hiding something (which I'm assuming it is), Game Freak is hiding a huge portion of the region... Interesting. Especially for the starter town from BW to also be covered up. What could have changed that warrants teasing? It's not like they are just covering a frontier. It's a bunch of cities and areas. You can see a new city of sorts in the side of the Eastern mountain... Also anyone notice your rival talking to a group of folks dressed in some black uniform? New evil team?

I'm really glad these are true sequels, really excited now. The rival looks cool, and the main characters look alright. I much preferred the BW characters. Some of the best designs, imo. I wonder how many of the gym leaders were changed? And why are there new ones? Did someone die / retire / get fired?

They've probably heavily revamped the entire East region and are going to reveal bits and pieces at a time.

Bottom of this image seems to suggest this. Lucario and Haxorus in Black, Metagross and Zoroark in White.

The Water gym leader has a bunch of Pokeballs stuck to his butt.

I'm going with Metagross, and Zoroark on this one. I have White 1 anyway, so it seems "right".

But, depending on what version the Larvitar-line (and potentially Growlithe-line as well) is exclusive to, might heavily sway which game I pick.

Quite some good and impressive news. I like it. There is just one thing I fear.

Caves full of Roggenrola, Geodude, Zubat and Woobat?!?! Oh shit...

For the record, Roggenrola is only available in 1 cave. Which, aside from 1 little plot battle 5 steps inside, you never have you enter ever again. It's Boldore that is found in every single cave after that.

Okay, I know this is outlandish, but this picture really reminds me of Pacifidlog Town.

I'm guessing you travel from the starting citing to a coastal town and travel to some island town/dock area (There's a screenshot of you and your rival exiting a cave at a beach). From there, you travel through the water to get back to mainland. Maybe?

Yeah, the problem is I don't really see any truly coastal towns. Starting from your home town and heading through the path leading northeast, the area further east south of Driftveil looks like it has a contour border, whereas I would assume the huts on the water would be in an area without specific boundaries. Perhaps it is a part of the area east of your hometown, but it doesn't really look that way to me. I'm just curious where it might be, perhaps the east side of Unova where the ice is obscuring the map?

Just and FYI, but Shizui is not black.

http://www.pokemon.co.jp/ex/b2w2/characters/character04.html

He just has an awkward tan.

Yeah looking at the map you probably head into Driftveil. There's that construction area on the water and city a bit north of it.

I was browsing the Japanese website (which means clicking random links and seeing where it takes me), and accidentally turned on Google translate.

I was surprised by the accuracy of some of the translations, but there were still a bit of grammar hiccups.

The main point of this is that on this page, the paragraph mentioned something about a "map of frozen sheets" and something about an "accident that occurred in a rural location two years later."

Does anybody care to interpret or perhaps translate this better?

From Pokejungle, about that scientist dude:

Please let him turn into a DW ability tutor...
Exactly what I was thinking. That would be so amazing. Ability Changers should have been around in like Gen 4.

And quick note, I ripped the sprites from the battle vid.

Kyuram-2.png
Kyurom-1.png

The best I could do at least. Couldn't find a frame where Black Kyurem's wings didn't seem blurred.

Edit: Didn't notice I missed a part of White's background. Fixing.

Edit2: Fixed.

Pokemon Smash is airing now, they showed the intro video from the game (it shows that Black Kyurem silhouette we saw in the other trailer, Zekrom, the muskateers, and then regular Kyruem) and a bit of gameplay from the character selection to where you battle your rival.

Unova starters are confirmed, as expected.
Azurill and Lillipup seem to appear in the first route.
You start out in that new city.
They showed a battle between Reshiram and Black Kyurem.
Showed the map with the ice again, with some words under it and question marks.
The poison gym leader appears to have a Koffing (in the anime at least).

Anyone noticed that Black Kyurem didn't have an ability slide-in when it came out? That cancels out Teravolt/Turboblaze/Snow Warning/Pressure so looks like we're getting something different for this guy.

Then there's the possibility of Overdrive becoming an ability...but..

I wonder how many/ if any gym leaders from BW will return in this game. Surely not all of them will have retired in two years time? Most of the Kanto ones stuck around for GSC.
