Pokémon GO

Guys, if you wanted to request for a pokestop or pokegym to be created, time has ran out. I checked the request site and it said it wasn't accepting any more request for new pokestops and gyms!

It's been like that for the past few weeks. Idt they accepted Poke Stop / Gym requests after like 3 days of the submissions being open.

N
Is it just me or do encpunter rates drop as you level up? Been walking around 45 minutes with nothing showing up even though the nearby screen shows Growlithe, Eevee, Venonat
Not really. The server only updates the map data each 10 seconds instead of previous 5 seconds, I read somewhere. That's why there are less encounters as one might have passed through it without the game encountering them.

I'm personally not having any issues catching pokemon. The only one since the update so far that's gotten away from me is a Pidgeot, but that makes sense. Maybe I'm just getting lucky.

Porygon was fairly easy actually, but i'm wasting balls on junk, and catching good stuff, wasted a good 10 balls on zubats due to lag on top of constant pokemon shouts just as the ball was landing.
Did manage to catch a 15/15/14 Magikarp today :v4:
curiously, regarding Porygon, in the future they will probably add the later stuff, Porygon as a basic only, has similar CP to a Jynx, which is in and around the same as a good few 2nd evolution Pokemon already, when we get to Porygon-Z the CP will be insane.

Hi guys. Pokemon Go just got released in the Philippines two days ago, and just last night I visited a public park at the city center and a crowd of trainers had gathered attracted by Pokemon Lures, it was a fun sight. :D
Anyway, I would just like to ask if this spreadsheet is of any use. Found it online and I was wondering if this already took account the new patch:

no idea about that, just hoping I can get some more freaking Magikarp Candies so i can dominate the area with the Gyarados

Prepare for Twister. It has happened to me once, and it was really devastating. Second try I got Bite + Hydro Pump, so that was perfect.

There are 2 apps I found which are slightly helpful for finding pokemon in your area: GoRadar and PokeRadar. They are basically the same but I'd like to know which one is better...

Did you catch them as Gyarados or collect 800 Magikarp candies?
800 Karp candies. I'm now at 540 already, so I could make another one if I want. But since I already have one with Bite + Hydro Pump, I don't really see the point. I don't really do gyms so I guess that's the reason for not wanting multiple good Gyarados.

I've gotten enough candies to evolve two magikarps and both have been dragon breath + twister ;__;

Sorry if it has already been answered yet, but 26 pages :s

When I look at the move listing on Serebii, what exactly are energy increase (fast moves) and energy requirement (special moves)? And how does duration exactly work? Those are a lot of "exactly" but as any good min-maxer out there, I need to know :]

energy increase is the amount of the energy bar that gets filled by each use of the fast move. The energy requirement is the amount of energy needed to fill that bar so the special move can be used. Some specials have one bar, others have two, three, or four. I haven't looked at the page to see context but I'm assuming duration has to do with the attack's animation and thus how long your pokemon is "vulnerable" while using the move. There's a spreadsheet floating around somewhere showing pure DPS on all the game's moves, so that might be useful to you as well

Prepare for twister... I wasn't prepared for solar beam on my Parasect.
I find gym battles are buggy anyway, nothing like dodging a special move by hopping 2 jumps sideways and it still hits.

So Iran just banned Pokemon Go due to "unspecified security concerns", in other news water is wet and fire is hot.

On a sadder not, a man was shot and killed while he was playing Pokemon Go. It's not known why he was shot, the shooter didn't take anything before running off, it just seemed like a random act of violence. It's unknown whether Pokemon Go had anything to do with the murder. I'm beginning to question whether our world was ready for Pokemon Go, such a game only seemed worthy for a much better world than ours.

Good point you have there. Up until now most experiences I've had with other people were positive though. I've met new people, I've had laughs, and I'm enjoying the game (apart from the Niantic bullshit). And I'm playing it quite a lot. The few exceptions I encountered were a bit rude towards me, without any particular reason. I have heard remarks varying from "Do something with your life instead of chasing digital characters", to "Go kill yourself". I think it all has to do with gaming being the most frowned upon recreational hobby. Never understood that.
