Pokemon Black and White (SPECULATIONS ALLOWED HERE)

I always thought it was silly to have this long list of items that could only be used in story battles.
It was never clear why the trainer was suddenly limited to yelling out commands once a link battle was started.
So I think adding trainer items to the already allowed Pokemon held items is a logical step that we probably should have considered as possible.

It could be unbalanced and annoying but I don't think it will be because there will be restrictions on the number and types of items the trainer can use.
A single Full Restore, for example, might consume all your points when you might have been able to fire off two X-Specials.
I can't say I'm not a little bit worried (it'll be another variable to think about) but I'm mostly intrigued.

The new fish Pokemon, Basurao I think, looks a lot like a Piranha/Carvanha.
I don't know if it fits the Magikarp/Feebas role since it seems a lot less useless (Aquajet, Headbutt?).
Unless they're going the route where something agressive and ornery evolves into a calm and defensive Pokemon.

The mole's ability is interesting. Getting boosted attack while Sandstorm buffets foes is nice and it should stack with Choice Band/Scarf.
It's still not out of the question for it to get a move which boosts attack so it could get dangerous in a hurry.
If the evolution is indeed Ground/Steel it'll have a couple immunities and a nice Rock quad resistance to switch in with too.

My theory for Sand Throw is that it grants the boost to partners.
They've been doing a lot of this "doubles equivalent ability" stuff like Magic Guard/Dust Proof or Hydration/Healing Heart.
On that note, it seems Mamanbou is defensive and slow.
It's not that surprising since adult Sunfish are not exactly agile.
Also, GF doesn't infrequently drop speed on generationally 'late' evolutions while Luvdisc's other stats lean towards the defenses.

Wow, missed quite a bit.

Anyway, Complete Burn was definitely not what I was expecting from Victini, but I guess it has its uses. Victory Star boosting accuracy isn't as big of a deal as people are making it out to be, IMO - even with high powered moves, it only has base 100 attacking stats at the end of the day. You don't see Flygon ripping things apart with Outrage.

The season changes seem much more detailed than mere aesthetic effects, which is cool. Finding different areas and pokemon in different seasons is something I've always wanted, so it really is one of my favorite features so far.

You're underestimating 100 base attacking stats. Flygon can 2HKO Suicune with Outrage, and you most definitely see things fleeing from Starmie's Hydro Pump. If it makes Fire Blast 100% accurate, I'd say that's extremely useful.

The seasonal changes are cool, I agree. It seems they applied Shoal Cave in RSE (one of the many awesome aspects of that game) to entire environments.

Moguryuu reminds me so much of Sandshrew, especially now with the pure Ground typing. The difference is Sand Power is extremely useful, and Sand Throw may be too. I think it'll evolve and become Ground/Steel.

Kurumiru: Both abilities are pretty cool, but lead me to think it is not our starting bug (don't they usually have a single ability?), but who knows. Bug STAB + Chlorophyll isn't something we've seen before, so I'm looking forward to it.

Mamambou: If Healing Heart heals your teammates of status conditions simply by switching in, then the (supposed) Luvdisc evolution could shoot straight up to OU, UU at the very least. Assuming it has any kind of decent stats, this thing could be the ultimate Cleric.

Shikijika: Herbivore seems really useful (like really, really useful) because if it works like any of the other absorbing abilities (Flash Fire, Volt Absorb, etc) then it will be able to absorb Spore and receive an Attack bonus. Not to mention Leaf Storms / Grass Knots.

Depending the BST and their locations, Moguryuu's evo( Assuming that's Ground/Steel and Doryuuzu) may be a fantastic Zekrom counter.

I don't think that's how Healing Heart works.
Serebii said:
Healing Heart (いやしのこころ) which removes Status Effects on your partner Pokémon in battle.
I think it'll only heal your double/triple battle partners. So, like someone said earlier, your partner can use Rest and Mamambou will heal him. It'll work like how Kyogre/Manaphy work.

Mamambou will be like our own little Nurse Joy in double/triple battles.

I may be the only one who thinks this but, god damn gamefreak stop being lazy and lets see the pokemon we are actually surfing on lol.

Healing heart heals partners in double battles if Mamambou is out i think.

The better question is why you use gyara as a surf slave..

Well, at least rock climb looks like a Bibarel, lol

Haha, so true. Since Gen I Gyarados should be used for things other than Surf. :p

I did not know Healing Heart worked like that :(. When I looked at Pokebeach, it didn't specify, and I rarely go to Serebii.

In D/P most pokemon before the elite four couldn't learn more than 3 tms. Oh wait, Bibarel

In RSE, most pokemon before the elite four couldn't learn more than 3 tms... oh, wait, there was linoone

In GSC, most pokemon couldn't learn many HMs... oh wait, except for furret

I'm sure that mirhogu will be a fully competent HM slave.

I don't like HM Slaves. Some of the HMs are decent ingame, except like Cut or Flash. I just disperse them all over my team.

Considering Mirohugo (sp?) can glow, it'll get Flash most likely.

Same here, I just used Gyara in HGSS. The only thing that annoys me is flying all the way to a city just to erase an HM.

The thing is, Flygon requires a Choice Band and Stealth Rock to do so (IIRC), and Starmie's Hydro Pump boasts great neutral coverage and is boosted by a Life Orb. Victini could also use Fire Blast + LO, but fire resists are everywhere and adding on LO to a SR weakness isn't exactly appealing, not to mention that Victini probably won't have the amazing coverage that Starmie gets simply by adding on Thunderbolt/Ice Beam.

Base 100 offense is great, I admit, but not good enough on its own to become overly threatening. The 40% chance of a SpD drop is a large part of what makes Shaymin so deadly, along with Seed Flare's base 120 power. LO Suicune is hardly threatening until it uses a Calm Mind or two, and the same can be said of SpA Jirachi. Infernape's 104 offenses aren't really what make it a great late-game sweeper, its the high base power and sheer coverage of its moves that do it. Try knocking out Suicune or Swampert without Grass Knot, or dealing with Zapdos if running Flamethrower over Fire Blast - not such an easy task.

On another note, I hadn't seen Healing Heart interpreted that way. I was assuming that it would heal its teammates in a double or triple battle, but if it still has this effect in single battles, then it would indeed be the ultimate cleric - with Water typing and a potentially bulky build to boot!

Herbivore seems useful...but then again it depends what tier it ends up in. Grass attacks are all over the place in UU, but decidedly less in OU. Spore is rare outside of Breloom, and switching into Shaymin/Celebi's grass attacks is risky since they often carry HP Fire and, in Celebi's case, Thunder Wave. Roserade has Sludge Bomb to blast Shikijika with, so I think that a high speed stat is essential for this ability to reach its full potential on Shikijika.

ffs some very basic details of Miracle Shooter are revealed, and people already want the thing banned. I hope the community doesn't turn into Smash Boards or something like that when the time comes to worry about items.

Anyway, I hope Illuminate gets some kind of boost, since no Pokémon goes from having a different ability to Illuminate upon evolution (granted, Run Away is equally useless as of now). Anything as long as it gives some kind of effect during battle will be welcome.

Miruhoggu's description is "It lights up the pattern on its body to threaten its opponents." This gives me the impression Illuminate may do something like Intimidate, but maybe to Special Attack.

If so, then starmie and Lanturn would be the premier special walls of their tier...

Does anyone else see that GF is remaking staples of all the previous games? Besides the obvious Pikaclone/Bugclone/Pidgeclone/Rattaclone we have
Koromori=Zubat,
Gigaiasu=Geodude, complete with a shitty ability and typing
Basurao=Magikarp, or maybe Tentacool, depending on the evo
Shijika=Eevee, maybe. Depending on how it evolves.
