Actually, lately they've been trying really hard to make it more canon to the games. Like, for instance, having abilities play a major part in battles and other stuff such as using stat boosting moves, field hazards and obviously avoiding shit like Thunder Armor and "Pikachu! The Horn!".

They had Torterra at a disadvantage to Drapion (USE BLOODY EARTHQUAKE ON IT YOU DOLT ASH) and an Aerial Ace missing, according to Serebii on the second episode of the final Ash vs. Paul battle.

I'm WAITING for you to get accurate to the games, Pokemon anime...

Unrelated to the current topic, but;

In the new Best Wishes trailers, one of them features Mamambou- meaning it's catchable before the Elite Four- thus not related to Luvdisc if the claim that "no old Pokémon is found in Isshu before the Elite Four" remains.

Electivire got an episode before Sinnoh even freaking started. This video proves nothing.

Ugh, they BETTER be related. Also, the anime can help us find out which type gym leaders Dento and Aloe are, like how Dento is suspected as a Rock-type leader due to the rocks in his gym (although I REALLY hope not, although he at least won't have a Geodude, an Onix, and something else like the last two, although with our luck he would have two Rock/Ground Pokemon @_@ lol).

It was not wild, though.

Well, we'll just have to wait. I still think Mamambou and Luvdisc aren't related.
I agree. It wouldn't make sense for them to have a relation because as was previously mentioned no non-Gen V pokemon are supposed to appear prior to national dex.

How many times are people going to have to repeat that the anime =/= the games?

The anime reveals a Pokemon whenever they choose. Was Elekid in the Sinnoh-dex prior to Platinum? No, it wasn't.

Maybe you can catch Mamambou, but can only breed a Luvdisc with Heart Incense attached to the parent? Sounds good to me.

I'm always shocked when people argue Mamanbou is not related to Luvdisc. Uhhhhhhh...so there are going to be two pink heart-shaped fish Pokemon? lol

I am sure Gary had an Electivire. I just don't know when he got one, though.

And SkellyDuke's idea works for me. It's like having Wobbuffet in HGSS, but not Wynaut; they just didn't give you a Lax Incense before the National Dex! ~__~

No, it was anime footage. But still, they usually have some kind of correlation to the games.
Not really. They just show off Pokemon at random.
Let's take a step back 8 years, to the Hoenn saga. The first couple of episodes were filled with Pokemon one couldn't get until Colo or FRLG. Like Team Magma having Houndooms.

Meanwhile, in the Sinnoh saga, there were tons of non-Sinnoh natives all over the place, like Charmeleon, teddirusa, etc etc

They also don't really care about placement. May ran into a Duskull in the first episode of Advanced, for example.

People denieng that the new pink Heart Fish pokemon with Swift Swim and a new ability is Luv Disc's evolution are almost as funny as people who denied that Makoto, Dudley, and Ibuki were going to make it into SSF4.

Hmm... that reminded me... are you guys tired of seeing new incense items added to get new pre evolutions? I mean get creative, there are as many incense items then incense ones (Also, their battle effect could be different then copies/lesser items).
Anyways, maybe a luvdisc evolution will be nice..! ( I personnally believe the new evolution techniques, choices are quite nice, no matter how they screw some sprites over' I especially liked the new additions from D/P (togekiss/lickylicky). Maybe a Pokeshifter only evolution or something like that :O

Mamanbou has Hydration, not Swift Swim.

Electivire showed up in the last/second to last episode of Battle Frontier, a few weeks before DP started.

Which reminds me that Paul had an Elekid within the first three episodes so there's another one to the pile.

I take a lot of joy in seeing pathetically weak but cool Pokemon getting boosts. It's really interesting. Aipom, Roselia, Lickitung, Nosepass..

According to Pokejungle, there's reason to belive that Dento is a grass-type gym leader. But wasn't that Madea/Aloe lady already confirmed to be a grass-type gym leader? I remember hearing it from a legit source somewhere, despite Serebii calling her specialty "unknown"...I just can't remember where.
So, anyone else hoping for a Dark-type gym?

I hope this rumored elephant turns out to be true.
I also hope that if it is true, we'll end up with something better than Donphan...

I REALLY like the idea of the Sudowoodo-esqueness of Desukan. Back in GSC, I remember the satisfaction/awesomeness of battling and catching that goddamn tree.

The rumors seems like a real plus, but I'm not going to get too excited until it's officially out.

Pure Dragon type is the most interesting one, although not really ground-breaking. No x4 Ice weakness, though. :P
