not only that but shadow claw is weaker then shadow ball. idk if gamefreak is trolling us again or they just dindt noticed ghost became a almost all special type.


maybe that was they objective...but a all special type never works when you make a ultimate special wall 2 generations ago.

An ultimate special wall who happens to be immune to your STAB :p
 
I think it would be great if our ghost had a high Speed and Attack stat, but I don't really see that happening.

The best I see is just another Dusknoir with a better offensive type, defence, and attack stat, but trading off good special defence. In other words, a pokemon geared toward both attacking and defending, but good at neither. I don't really have much faith.
 
The only problem with Dusknoir is his lack of STAB. STAB Ground is always good to have unless your a special attack, and hopefully he'll get some STAB Ghost attacks as well.
 
I'm not saying there's a problem with Dusknoir, I'm just saying that I think that sarcophaghost will be trying to fill the role of both wall and attacker, and just not be stellar at either.

fixed and Earth power isn't bad when it's only 10 points weaker(and has a small chance of getting stronger via special def drops) than Earthquake and it's just that all the stab users are physically orientated except only camerupt has stab on it with a decent special attack but it's slow as dirt and stab Earthquake does more damage to most things you'd use a stab ground attack on.

better new physical and special moves for various types and better distribution of current moves will be nice.

It's probably because of Lick.

Also, Dusknoir is awesome as fuck. If the sarcophagus goes that way, that's the best we can hope for.

Earth Power isn't very useful when things like Tentacruel and Tyranitar will be taking much less than Earthquake. Tentacruel because as a Ghost-type it will undoubtedly be put into an Anti-Spin position. Considering it's weak to Water, OHKOing Tentacruel is a big deal. 100 base Attack + EQ allows that, but 100 base Special Attack + Earth Power does not. Tyranitar, of course, will be able to Pursuit it like any other Ghost we have. Earthquake can 2HKO from 100 base Attack, while Earth Power cannot 2HKO. Earthquake in general is superior to Earth Power, unless you want to hit Scizor and Metagross harder. To be honest, while Ground/Ghost is a unique typing, it's not the best typing for a Ghost. Being weak to Water really, really sucks. It means he cannot spin-block Starmie, and switching into Tentacruel is more difficult.

Since Drill Liner hit Pokabu super effectively, and Desukan neutrally, we can assume it is one of several secondary types if Drill Liner is Ground-type: Dark, Dragon, Fighting, Ground, Ice, Normal, Psychic, and Water. The ones that jump out to me as completely ridiculous (imo) are Dragon, Ice, Psychic, and Water. That leaves Dark, Fighting, Ground, and Normal. We've already seen Spiritomb with Dark/Ghost, so I'll just ignore that possibility. Fighting/Ghost would be unresisted offensively (except theoretical Normal/Ghost) and have resistances to Bug, Poison, and Rock, with immunities to Fighting and Normal. Ghost/Normal is the most intriguing possibility, imo. Resistances to Bug, and Poison, with immunities to Fighting, Ghost, and Normal. I'd personally prefer Ghost/Fighting or Ghost/Normal over Ghost/Ground simply for the ability to take on common spinners more easily, but that's just my opinion. Regardless, I'd love for this to be a physically attacking Ghost.
 
Literally just realized that if Desukan is in fact a ghost type, which it appears that we're all assuming is true, Spiritomb would be a perfect name for it O.o
Tomb and everything, ya know.
I actually think that it fits the name better than Spiritomb itself.
 
base 100 atack is low for something like dusknoir, it might have the coverage but not the raw power to break any common walls, besides some gimmick subpunching he is not beating steels bar heatran any day.


i am putting my hopes on the new tomb.
 
I think that would only work if the ability was a constant when bred from a certain parent. Which would probably be more useful in its own right, anyways.

It would save so much time and effort if abilities were passed down while breeding, and like Skylar56 said, open up new stuff for pokemon without requiring wi-fi (Because god knows some people are too lazy to get a working wi-fi connection for their DS...like me)
 
It would be like breed moves,you can only breed a couple,and you could chain breed to get abilities,and Scizor definatley does not need Flash Fire,but it would give some Pokemon the chance to rise in the tiers a little.
 
^Not to mention that physical ghosts are rather rare. Banette and Dusknoir (both from Hoenn, coincidentally), are the only two that really utilize the attack stat, so it could provide a nice alternative to Rotom-A, bringing different resists to the table and hitting on the opposite side of the spectrum. Just a thought.

I could see Banette getting its own evolution, with a higher Attack stat and Speed, with slightly higher defenses. Its movepool could get an upgrade with the elemental punches, Swords Dance, and perhaps Superpower.
 
Here i was, thinking about what abilities the starters could possibly get.
Also took alook into the starters pokedex. Here's my conclusions:

Venusaur - Solar Power
Charizard - Reckless
Blastoise - Sniper

Meganium - Magic Guard (wow)
Typhlosion - Flash Fire
Feraligatr - Water Veil
I'll refrain about the others.

I could see Banette getting its own evolution, with a higher Attack stat and Speed, with slightly higher defenses. Its movepool could get an upgrade with the elemental punches, Swords Dance, and perhaps Superpower.

I bet that if Banette gets a evo, it will get a little boost on defense and speed while getting a great boost on attack and a decent boost on sp.atk.
Mixed ghost is where Banette is at.
