Chain Lightning doesn't kill much unless it is dual casted and even then you will only be able to use it once since it pretty much depletes your entire meter.
(not counting smithing/enchanting abuse which is...dumb)
It's abuse to use a skill exactly as its intended?
I've played the game a good 50 hours now I think (feels weird not having a count anywhere in a series famed for play time).
I can't find myself killing any dragons without restoration magic. I even have full dragon armor and a max upgraded daedric mace. If they stay in the air for too long and i don't have restoration i'm screwed.Just wondering, for people who have done pure fighters, how do you kill dragons without healing spells?
I mean, I find dragons kinda easy because they are slow, but their damage output is enormous when they hit you. I cant see you avoiding the fire breath in any way.. Do you just potion it, or what?
I made it back to my favourite cannibal village today! I dunno if this is like a scripted encounter, but when I fast travelled to klarth peak or whatever it is called, the place with the wall carving anyway, I had to slaughter the same village all over again during a blood dragon attack. Overall it was a lot easier this time, but it was pretty fun.
The whole experience brought back painful memories of Lydia.. No matter how many times I set her on fire, she would always follow me..
I should never have brought her to the college, she had no interest in magic, that was my own selfishness..
It's abuse to use a skill exactly as its intended? At least enchanting is expensive.
I've played the game a good 50 hours now I think (feels weird not having a count anywhere in a series famed for play time). It's easy to feel like the game is a huge gameplay leap for the Elder Scrolls series, what with Oblivion sucking and with Skyrim being able to captivate me much longer. But it seems pretty plain to me now that Skyrim is awesome purely on the merits of its quests and world. Everyone is worth talking to, there's fun and interesting things to do around every corner, and the factions are fleshed out and exciting. The fact that enemies don't level up with you makes you feel like you actually progress through the game rather than kind of just stagnate.
I don't think it was intended for you to have 70 smithing/enchanting 10 hours into the game through farming daggers (which is what I was referring to).

Alright I am making two characters and need so advice...
1. The first character is a Battlemage. He would be a Heavy Armor-based Mage that could hold his own in melee combat if he absolutely had to.
Race: Tough one here but I'm thinking Altmer or Breton, but could see the merits of a Nord.
2. The second Character is an Assassin/thief that is going to focus on Dual wielding daggers/swords, Archery and will have Light Armor along with typical stealth stuff etc.
Race: I'm thinking Khajit but I could see using Imperial (for Imperial Luck)
Okay so, is anyone using the Illusion school at all? I've already gotten plenty of levels in Archery/One-Handed/Destruction and I'm kind of looking to expand on my playstyle, but I literally haven't gotten any illusion spells besides Calm/Fury and I'm wondering if there's more to it than that.
