How is he 'to blame'? You are everything that is wrong with the NFL's conservative approach. He went for a HIGH PERCENTAGE play from a risky field goal distance that would fire the team up going into the playoffs if it works. Whether a FG or the 4th and down fails, either may deflate the team a little (a FG quite arbuably more, since the prevailing incorrect logic is that fourth down plays are risky and foolhardy), but they already clinched and will still probably finish #1.
The Steelers win was great too <3
waterdumb is stupid and People who use refereeing as a basis for an argument against a team's legitimacy are as bad as people who blame injuries for losses. A good team has depth and can overcome injury. A good team can win despite "controversial" calls by the referee.
Just as many calls went against the Steelers as did for them. How about the pass interference that wasn't called when the defender TACKLED Nate Washington? Or maybe Adam Terry's holding on James Harrison that caused him to miss a sack and allowed Flacco time to make a 20 something yard completion?
PS I think DM killed himself after the Bills game. He hasn't posted yet and I'm worried :(
Who the fuck is Fischer? At any rate, if he says the headwind probably would've prevented Bironas from hitting it at that range, I believe him. He's not stupid and there is otherwise no reason not to kick the FG in that circumstance.
So how 'bout that NFL, anyway? The season finale is certainly more exciting than last year, when playoff slots were all but locked up at this point in time. Both home-field seeds are up for grabs next week as the Titans/Stoolers and Giants/Panthers play and the wild card spots are looking super-competitive at the moment.
Refs strike again!
Steelers are the worst 11-3 team ever. I'm totally gonna be pissed if they manage to beat the Titans and secure HFA, too. -_----------- Their D is great but their offense is god-awful horrendous and the refs have been riding their jock all season. (Well, the refs in general are having their worst season ever.) They need to give Moore more playing time, he's the only guy that puts any spark into that offense.
