The Everything NHL Thread

A better explanation is that Luongo and the nucks are fragile. Chicago pissed them off enough that it just took a small shove to fuck them over again. Chicago is a pretty dirty team, IMO, but you gotta have thicker skin!

Expecting a Hawks win at home in Game 6 and a Canucks win in Game 7 now. No matter how fragile the Canucks may or may not be I think they're too good to drop four in a row -- though having two 3-0s choke in two years would be a good NHL storyline. Wish the Hawks had played like this the first couple of games, they should have been able to win this series, as the last two games are proving.

Calm your shit. I don't see anyone saying they're happy that they're moving. Fact is, Goldwater Institute is fucking up rather drastically and the handling of the Phoenix Coyotes franchise has been a disgrace and a disaster. There seems to be no future for them here, unless Hulsizer (sp?) is willing to put up with this bullshit.

Although a glimmer a hope is that Biznasty tweeted that the team will be back. Then again, it's Biznasty.

Hats off to the Coyotes fans for putting up with this bullshit for this long.
I know...seriously would it kill them to get some competent people right?

Never thought i'd say this, but

GO HAWKS!!! man, keep this up. As a wings fan, the longer this series lasts, the better...

LA, you suck, i had so much hope in you and you failed us. Now we might have to face the San Jose Refs Sharks again...

I'm really likin' the Preds/Ducks series.

Also, i really hope Phoenix stays. What they've been able to do with a slightly less than stellar roster for these past couple of years and crank out two record seasons is amazing. I only have the utmost respect for the franchise for what they've done last year and this year. I believe they deserved better than having to play the wings this season in the POs. From the sound of things, Hulsizer did a great job taking care of Yotes fans for games 3 and 4. Reading comments from coyotes, it sounds like with a generation of arizonians (i apologize if i got that label wrong) now growing up with hockey, the potential for hockey fans down there is huge.

Some things:

lol at Lindy Ruff calling the Flyers a bunch of whiners. How the fuck do they get off complaining about officiating?

Wow Canucks. I mean, WOW. I'm just counting down the hours until Edler's suspension comes through the wires, what a DIRTY elbow.

Dear Bettman: only one game for Ruutu? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??? How do you continue to make me have LESS faith in you?

Hoping for Sabres/Capitals. If Ruff thinks the Flyers are whiny he's gonna LOVE my boy Boudreau

I'm actually a little concerned Edler doesn't get anything after how weak some of the other playoff disciplinary actions have been. I don't think it's "as bad" as some of the other one gamers (Kunitz's elbow, mainly), but man if he DOES get suspended what an incredibly stupid thing to do as such an important player on that team. Glomped twice in a row from 3-2 up against a rival and then get yourself suspended for a road game in a hostile arena? It's like they WANT a game 7...

I actually do think the Canucks will still manage to win this series but I would be shocked if they got by Detroit, San Jose or Anaheim.

Canucks have no business in even thinking about advancing if they play like the way they did the last two games. They had no energy in what they did, let the Hawks walk right into their end for shots, got less physical, and made some stupid hits. They need to hit, but not be idiots about it.

Oh and they need to actually support Luongo. Jesus, that Hossa snipe was just fucking sad.

And what the fuck, bench Ballard for Rome? Vignaeault, can I HAVE that new crack you're smoking?

As much fun as it is to call him a choker and Lolongo and whatever, I'm definitely not gonna blame Luongo for that loss. The 1st Hossa goal he probably should've had, but the 2nd and 3rd were basically perfect shots that the defense let get set up by the hawks, and he really had no chance at all on those. The 4th...if you let a guy like Hossa get behind your defense, there's little hope for your goalie at that point. It was an absolutely perfect shot that Luongo might as well have gone to the bench for.

Blame the poor D, not Luongo (no I'm not just saying this to try and get Luongo in game 6)

With that said, I feel like the Canucks will finally drop the bullshit in game 6 and just absolutely waste the Hawks, but here's hoping that it doesn't happen.

Amazingly, I'm actually finding myself agreeing with you.

Right now, unless the Canucks absolutely trash the Hawks sunday, i hope they lose. To get trashed like that twice and now be outscored 12-2 in the last couple of games, they don't deserve to even limp out of the first round being horribly outscored by the Hawks like this.

Also, interesting Vezina choices (Rinne, Luongo, Thomas) since all of them look incredibly human right now. I think Price deserved to be there, and if it wasn't for Jonas Hiller's equilibrium problems he would have been a definite.

Also, for the americans, opinions on the new contract with NBC? I think the Thanksgiving friday game is a good idea. It'd also be a good idea if they had more games than once a week on sunday as well, but what do i know?

I wonder if Vancouver even has the character to regroup from this. I honestly think they have every reason to give schneider a shot in net, but everyone knows that they won't start anyone but Luongo unless Luongo is dead.

I'm pretty sure you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. Holy tits, even popemobile makes more sense.

It's pretty well documented that Vancouver has breakdowns when things don't go their way. I predicted this could happen and THE NEXT FUCKING GAMES it happened! Vancouver is a great team but doesn't roll with the punches as well as they could. Take off your fanboy blinders, there is no reason why vancouver should have lost as badly as they did the last two games other than complete breakdowns caused by a somewhat chippy and dirty chicago team. Vancouver is a victim of hockey trolling, it's obvious to any ignoramus.

Explain how else their breakdown in discipline and massive team defense breakdowns have come about if I am wrong.

Also, I heard Schneider is quite good. Luongo is rattled, it might send a message to the team to play the backup. Almost any other team would consider very strongly a good backup for LESS than what Luongo has been responsible for. Yeah, you're right, his defense was bullshit but if you want the cup your goalie has to be able to stand on his head. Just look at the Boston/Montreal game last night, Thomas kept them in it through an absolute shitstorm and they managed to come back and win it!

Well documented my ass. They had their whole early season melting down, and still came back as Presidents Trophy winners. I know the whole argument "regular season =/= playoffs" but the fact that they barely broke .500 while being outscored and outgunned in the beginning games and still managed to overcome it, doesn't scream "MELT-FUCKING-DOWN."

And did you just call Chicago chippy and dirty? Did you not see the Torres' hit? Jesus Christ, you really don't know who's on their roster. Even as a Canucks fan I can say that their style of play doesn't come close to being the Ducks or the Flyers. I don't know what kind of game you've been watching, but you've been pulling these "well documented" facts out of your ass.

Oh and take off your Calgary Flames beer goggles.

Explain how else their breakdown in discipline and massive team defense breakdowns have come about if I am wrong.

Simply because the Chicago Blackhawks have rallied around Seabrook's hit and are motivated to win. And that the Canucks aren't as motivated to win since they had a 3 game cushion. Combined with the fact that the Canucks have been playing sloppy hockey especially on their defensive end, and that the Blackhawks are willing to pounce on them, makes for a shitty one sided hockey game.

Also, I heard Schneider is quite good. Luongo is rattled, it might send a message to the team to play the backup. As did Luongo in the first few games. Compared to throwing a rookie to the Chicago wolves in their arena, I'd rather have Luongo playing, hopefully with a solid defense behind him.

Bolded.

They are a great team, hence the presidents trophy, but they have had playoff meltdowns in the past...particularly against chicago. What screams meltdown is the host of penalties in that first major loss and then turning right around and fucking up AGAIN. I said Chicago is KIND OF dirty and chippy, nothing can compare to the ducks...I hate those mother fuckers. Makes me wonder what manner of success Vancouver can have in 4-7 game series if they find that kind of hockey difficult to deal with.

Yeah, the flames are a pretty nasty gritty team. I'm actually glad feaster is around now, he might inject some more skill into the team instead of just grindy fucker Sutter hockey. I don't have beer goggles man, please, I look at my team objectively. I don't know why you feel the need to randomly bring up a team that's not even in it. This is why I actually don't want vancouver to win- the team is deserving itself, but the fans can be real stubborn "my team is infallible" types.

The canucks have been playing sloppy hockey because the hawks got to them and they are less eager to engage in the gritty battles needed to move the puck. They are off their game, it's like night and day.

Yeah, I'd rather Luongo over Niemi too, but when he isn't doing his job you need to intervene. Honestly it becomes an issue of at what point do you pull Luongo. One more game like the last two and they could very realistically find themselves making a first round exit!

Niemi may yet prove to be another flash in the pan goalie, you're right, kind of a non sequitur but sure.

I sensed something was wrong when they dropped 2 in a row to the OILERS of all teams. This team seems too fragile to win the cup atm, but who knows. They played so well the whole season, it would be sad to see them blow yet another post season. If they lose game 6 I don't think they'll recover.

I really don't know who the fuck these Goldwater Institute people are, but man it's awfully tempting to mail them a couple of "packages"...I mean seriously, why are these people working so fucking hard to make the Coyotes leave? Motherfucking bastards...just another reason to hate this fucking state really...

You are just about the only coyotes fan out there. The franchise deserves to be in a place where people give a shit and can sell more than 4000 tickets per game.

I'm kind of wondering just how many people would've actually gone to a Coyotes game if the arena was located in Scottsdale (I think that's the place). Apparently Glendale is like 2 hours from there, so I don't really blame people for not showing up.
