The Everything NHL Thread

So much for the Sundin celebrations... Have no idea what happened to the Leafs on such a special night but they absolutely sucked in that 0-5 loss.

That was seriously the most disgusting and dispicable thing I've ever seen. Sundin comes out and says to the fans to support this team, and they in turn give them no reason to. I mean not only was Mats sitting there watching, but so were some of his former teammates (Domi, Roberts, and Nieuwendyk to name a few).

Luckily I saw this and it brought up my spirits:

And for their first season back, the Jets still manage to do better than a number of their Canadian Rivals. Not bad.

(BTW I'm a Winnipeger, olololo)

Rangers look a lot like the Bruins, especially with Lundqvist playing on his head like this. You touch the puck, you leave with a bruise. Pretty scary, surprised nobody's talking about them. I don't think the Rangers are as deep as the Bruins, but they are more talented at the top. Bruins have had the puck most of the game but can't get it into the net. I think I found my second favorite team, nobody in New York even cares about them so it's not like I have to avoid liking them like I would the Yankees

It's going to be one hell of an Eastern Conference Finals

Lucic: only player with 20 goals and 100 penalty minutes. Mah nigga

Also, one last thing...the refereeing in this game was awesome. Especially compared to that shitstorm in Buffalo last week. They were on top of everything while still letting the players play. They were clearly in control of the game without leaving their fingerprints all over it. I just thought they deserved some praise after I trashed them in Buffalo.

How has nobody mentioned the fact that the Red Wings just made history with their 21st straight win at home?

I don't know whether to be surprised, disappointed, or pleasantly amused since the game wasn't on my television either.

If the hawks keep it up, they'll lose 21 straight :)

How about those old, slow, soft, Rafalski-less Red Wings? Man they are so terrible. We need to obviously blow the whole team up. 21 straight at home won't cut it anymore...

What the hell is this crap Versus announcer talking about saying that's not a penalty? Pacioretty went directly into the back of Tim Thomas while he was making a save and "tried to slow down" by rolling over the top of his back. If that isn't interference then what the hell is? If Lucic did that to Price I guarantee he'd be all over Lucic and calling him a thug. God I wish this was on NESN.

Pretty sure people are talking about the Rangers considering they're first in the East..

I meant in this thread. All we have here is a handful of Canadians posting about their teams, DM, a couple of Wing fans and then me talking about the Bruins. There have only been 5 posts in this thread since November 8th mentioning the word Rangers (before mine and yours).

oh ok yeah this thread hasn't talked about them much but i think lundqvist is easily the vezina favorite and i saw mention of the hart on espn today

I'd give the Hart to Malkin.

Betting that this game will ALSO go into overtime. Glad we're getting Higgins back though, should definitely help our 2nd line.

Also, what the fuck is happening in Washington?

Honestly do the refs come together before the game and decide not to give the leafs penalties because they suck on the PK or something? There were at least 3 or 4 non-call penalties this game, and I honestly doubt the refs would've missed all of them. Actually, it doesn't surprise me one bit as both O'Halloran and Walkom are Ontario natives. Oh well, less points=better chance at 1st, so I guess both the Leafs and Oilers won in a way.

The Boston Bruins, the best team in the NHL, hardly got a win against the lowly Canadiens because the Canadiens had the refs in their back pocket.

They only called 3 goaltender interference penalties against the Canadiens? Any time a player gets within 8 feet of Thomas it should be called ASAP. This is ridiculous.

The Bruins should have won 14-2.
