Challenge The Scramble Challange

Status
Not open for further replies.
Rules
- This is a challenge with a bit of a twist. I wnat a Treecko as a starter, three Johto exclusive pokemon and one Hoenn exclusive pokemon. I have already been given a variable challenge and i will trade eggs for the two Hoenn Pokemon.
- No drudgery
- I reserve the right to refuse your challenge if I hate it, or the Pokemon you give me.
- If I reject something for reasons not stated here i will give you either a chance at a new challenge, or a reservation for my next challenge.

Team
-Variable challenge Given by Sprocket
Use any Pokemon you want, no evolution restrictions, however it must be caught in the wild or be an in-game acquisition (to prevent passing moves down by breeding).

Here's the catch: Every time it wants to learn a new move (via level-up, TM, HM, move-tutor, or whatever), roll a D6 (a six-sided die). On a 1-4 it must learn that move, and replace the corresponding move in its move list (1 corresponds with the first move, 4 corresponds with the last move, as seen by the out-of-combat Pokemon menu). On a 5 or 6, it cannot learn that move, period. You can only attempt to teach it any given move once. You cannot use the move deleter for any reason, and you cannot teach it TM/HM/Move-Tutor moves until it has 4 moves already.

(Obviously, this rule doesn't apply until the Pokemon has 4 moves)
Nidoking selected for its movepool. Do not issue me a challenge with a Nidoking.

-Arcticblast
You get a Mareep.
Mareep believes it is the softest in the land, and as such must learn and keep Cotton Spore. Until it becomes an Ampharos. Outraged at the loss of its wool, it must find something to take out its anger on strong Pokemon that it believes to be soft. It must solo 20 Trainer Pokemon with fur or feathers with Thunderpunch, and may not switch out against or switch into them. Once it does this, it still cannot get over its loss of wool, and as such may not know Cotton Spore or any attacking move besides Thunderpunch until it defeats one Pokemon in the Elite Four, which is enough of a morale boost that it may learn any two offensive moves.

-It's a Random's Crobat
I'll offer you X-Eyed the Crobat (Get a Zubat & evolve it ASAP).

It must know & keep Fly, Bite/Confuse Ray, Poison Fang/Cross Poison & Roost, obtaining the moveset before the E4. Solo Koga with it. If you fail, it must permanently give up one of its moveslots. On top of that, It must solo a Kanto Leader other than Erika, which you must choose before you start your adventure. Fail that & it must give up another moveslot permanently.

-DetroitLolcat's Mantine
You get a Mantine. First Mantine you catch. It cannot learn Hydro Pump, Confuse Ray, Toxic or Haze. It cannot learn both Ice Beam and Attract.THIS IS NOT A "NO GOOD MOVES CHALLENGE!!!" The final restriction is based on its nature.

+Atk: Have it solo Brock
+Def: Have it solo Jasmine
+SpA: Have it solo Sabrina
+SDef: Have it solo Karen
+Spe: Have it solo Rival in Victory Road
+None: Have it solo Clair

-Atk: Have it solo Misty
-Def: Have it solo Erika
-SpA: Have it solo Bruno
-SpD: Have it solo Koga
-Spe: Have it solo Will
-None: Have it solo Blue
You may only use as many items as the opponent does. Hope you don't get a +-None nature!
For each of these solos you do NOT complete one your first try, you must solo one of Red's pokemon.

-Galladiator's Treecko
Your Treecko, having been torn from its homeland of Hoenn, is naturally rather resentful toward you. As such it will refuse to use STAB in battle. When it evolves after soloing Bugsy it grows to like you, even though you tore it from its original Trainer. Therefore it must learn Return ASAP, and solo Chuck to become Sceptile. As Sceptile it must appear once against every Gym Leader and E4 member after Chuck, KOing a total of 5 of their Pokemon combined. NN it "Godzilla".
-BiGGiE's Solrock
This Solrock is gonna let you finish, but it knows that it's the greatest pokemon of ALL TIME. No other pokemon can match its coolness, strength, and general awesomeness. To show off its coolness, it must always wear Black Glasses. As a showcase for its general strength, it must possess the following moves:

Rock Polish
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Stealth Rock

To show its awesomeness, it must ALWAYS set up Stealth Rock in trainer battles, and it cannot use an attacking move without boosting its speed via Rock Polish. It must also never be lower than 5 levels from the highest member of your party, because it's too awesome to be underleveled. Nickname: Soul-Glo

Still have Dex's and lolcat's resubmit.

Reject my Scramble, eh? Well then, FACE MY WRATH!!! Or not...

Well it looks like Mantine will be soloing two of Red`s mons umless I get a +Spe nature in whiuch case I solo one mon. Treecko has to appear in every Gym/League battle after Chuck. Oh well, great challenge.

Yeah double post. I have decided to open up Dexington`s spot for my challenge to I can sign off for the night.

1. Please read the rules on this page or the last.
2. I require a Johto exclusive.

This is open to anybody, Atheno, Random, randoms, anyone. Just follow the rules.

Also just remember that this is a Hard Challenge.

I'll give you a challenge, but wait for Iggdrasil to give a challenge first, & pick the one you want...

Have fun if you choose this challenge.

EDIT: Same with Lolcat, send in Treecko & switch in X-Eyed on the first turn.

The Bat looks good outside of having 4 mons before the first gym so I`ll see what Iggy posts. God I hated that Octillery.

Save that for the Hardest Scramble EVER. i`ll take the Crobat.

Edit: Referring to the now editted Rhyhorn challenge. That Wonn is fine but I already accepted the Crobat. Tbh I really only meant available in Johto by Johto exclusive, it was more to help avoid the Rattatas and the like.

Today I started my adventure. A short recap about what's happened:

- I chose Squirtle as my starter.
- Defeated Bulbasaur in the first Rival battle.
- I decided to roll the dice for my Growlithe. I rolled 4, meaning I have to KO one Poke of every E4, and one of the Champion.
- Delivered the Parcel to Professor Oak.
- Bought some Potions and Antidotes.

And now I'm off to grind my Squirtle. Using physical moves only is going to be a hell against Brock. Tail Whip FTW.

Given that Mattman does not frequent the thread those of us that do have elected to keep the title, its a signature see. In fact, the title has been corrected by a Mod (Jabba) and then returned (by Jabba) after complaints arose.

Not to mention that quote is from 217 pages ago.

Guess what, everybody? I'm on Cinnabar Island in my FireRed Scramble, and I got the TM for SolarBeam. The next ten seconds went something like this:

TM22->Use-->Gen5Rules!--->Gen5Rules! and this TM are not compatible.

This means that I am asking for an edit to my FireRed Scramble, specifically chocolate-kipp's Charmander challange. I'll give him 24 hours to edit it; otherwise, restrictions are open. Remember, though, that I have already beaten six Gym Leaders and completed most of the game AND I will continue to play with the current restrictions (outside of SolarBeam). Make it quick!

posting to say I've updated my orriginal post. Kinda curious, does anyone actualy look at the updates? haha. Also, is there anything I can do to speed up the time it'll take for the Safari Zone dude to call me and say Customization is open? I need it to catch Larvitar

@Lightsabre, I'm reading the updates. The Safari Zone thing MIGHT be sped up by setting the clock to 23:58, playing the game until the day changes, then moving the time up to 23:58, playing the game until the day changes, etc. until you've moved enough days ahead. I'm not sure though, does anyone else know if this will work? It also took me an annoying long time before the guy called :( So I hope someone's figured out how to make it go faster.

@BlueFire666, take a Shellder named Shelley. It must solo at least 1 of Blaine's Pokemon to evolve. After evolving, it must solo at least 2 of Giovanni's Pokemon, and at least 5 Pokemon from the Elite 4 + Champion.

Firered Update!!!

Eevee, nickname it "Loss"
Must know Frustration, Growl, Roar, and one non-stab move for whatever it ends up being.
To evolve into different pokemon, it must solo different gym leader pokemon.
Must faint all steel types with Frustration, or PP stall if it faints and can't revive.

DetroitLolcat said:
Auramaster: Take an Ekans with Shed Skin. You must choose ONE of the following restrictions BEFORE YOU BEGIN your challenge:

1. It must not learn the moves Earthquake, Crunch, Glare, Rock Slide, Sludge Bomb, Hidden Power, Iron Tail, Giga Drain, Substitute, Screech, Wrap, Hyper Beam. Evolve when you want.

2. It must solo a Gym Leader WITHOUT items in order to evolve.

3. It may not evolve until after you beat Bruno.

Name it Data Worm

Dexington said:
Auramaster, I'll give you the very unrepresented Doduo. It may evolve after you defeat Blaine, no soloing requirements. It must also solo every Bird Catcher (or whatever you call those trainers with birds) you come across. Name it whatever you name your rival. No STAB

Texas Cloverleaf said:
auramaster, take a Horsea (Edras). Evolve it to Seadra by soloing every trainer between Fuschia and Cinnabar with only Water moves. At that point, it may no longer learn Water moves. Solo Bruno. Also, don't learn Ice Beam.

If you don't evolve it, solo Lance instead of Bruno.

Good Luck (manaical laughter)!

Its A Random said:
Auramaster gets Whacamole the Dugtrio. Whacamole likes to dig, so its only attacking move is Dig, & it must solo Erika.

Arcticblast said:
Auramaster, take a Vileplume. It must always know Acid and must know and keep Moonlight to evolve into Vileplume. Make it solo Giovanni. Every time you battle him. Name it Photograph

EDIT: Uh oh - your Vileplume hates the sun! It can never battle during Sunny Day or outside during real-world day. If it does, you may not use it for one hour of play time so it can recover.

Detroitlolcat told me (Different post) to start with Squirtle, so I grabbed one and named it Lolcat. The Guy (Rival) picked Bulbasaur and immediantly humiliated himself by losing despite a type advantage. Since Lolcat will be ditched when I get my first Scramble Pokemon (Ekans) I speed run through the beginning, running from most wild Pokemon, and arrive in Pewter City at level 8. After healing up, I enter the gym and battle the first trainer. He tries to stop me, but Bubble spam easily defeats him and Lolcat grows 3 levels.

Boss battle: auramaster Vs. Brock

Lolcat spams Bubble, Brock loses, Lolcat reaches level 13. Easiest boss ever.

I go through Mt. Moon and catch my first official Pokemon: Data Worm the Ekans. At level 10. And the next trainer is my rival with Pokemon in the high teens.

Ugh.

Data Worm is the only Pokemon allowed to attack him, but I plan on catching several Ekans with Intimidate, and switching between them to let Data Worm beat him safely. It sounded great, until I found about 9 Ekans in a row, none of which Intimidated me <_<. I check Serebii to see if it gets Intimidate in 3rd gen, then Google several other websites because I start to doubt Serebii. Finally I find a couple, and decide to try the rival battle with a level 15 Data Worm and two Intimidate Ekans instead of more grinding and searching.

Boss battle: auramaster Vs. The Guy

I send out Helper (Level 6 Ekans) to Intimidate his first Pokemon, Pidgeotto. I switch to Assistant (Ekans) to Intimidate again while he Sand Attacks. I now send in Data Worm, who Bites for a pathetic amount of damage while Pidgeotto Sand Attacks. I change strategies and begin Leering as he alternates between Quick Attack and Gust. A Potion and some Poison Stings later, Pidgeotto is down and my confidence is up. I heal as The Guy sends out Abra, who attempts to Teleport from my terrifying might. I Bite, miss 3 times in a row, then finally 2HKO. He sends out Rattata, and I switch between my Ekans to Intimidate.

Data Worm comes in and weakens him with Intimidate when I run out of Potions and lose to Quick Attack. I stock up on Potions and try again, only for Rattata to crit with Quick Attack. Another try, Pidgeotto crits with Quick Attack <_<. I give up and return to the tall grass, returning with 3 more Ekans and a level 18 Data Worm. This time I Intimidate all of his Pokemon to -6, before sending in Data Worm to wear them down with Bite. Pidgeotto does 3 damage with Quick Attack and Gust, while Bite is a 5HKO. Rattata, same, except Bite 3HKO's. Finally, Bulbasaur comes in, and I start my usual Intimidate plan when it uses Sleep Powder. I hadn't considered that move, and have no Awakenings. Data Worm eventually comes in, laughing at the pitiful damage from Vine Whip, and start Biting. It gets in the yellow before it finally decided to Leech Seed while I'm asleep. 3 more turns pass as Data Worm sleeps and Bulbasaur heals back into the green. Bite does about the same damage as Leech Seed heals, and Sleep Powder is giving Bulbasaur the edge.

I'm running out of Potions, and quickly try to Leer, so Poison Sting can outdamage Leech Seed. Sleep Powder dramatically slows me down, and I have to heal frequently from Leech Seed. After 3 Leers, I use my last Super Potion. No Potions left. I begin a desperate attempt to Poison Sting it down, while Bulbasaur uses Poisonpowder <_<. I assume dumb computer, but it does it again the next round. Bulbasaur's must be out of PP for Sleep Powder! It stares at Data Worm and Poisonpowders as Poison Sting 3HKO's it, ending the battle!

I heal up at the Pokemon Center, celebrate, and proceed through Nugget Bridge, where nothing interesting happens until I catch Photophobe (Oddish) just west of the bridge, and start training it through Route 25. After finally passing my rival, things are looking up!

Spr_3f_023.png

Data Worm (Male Ekans) @ Level 21
~Bite
~Poison Sting
~Glare
~Leer

Comments: Once leveled up, it's pretty good. Bite and Poison Sting hit everything neutral (For now), and 2HKO most opponents. Current MVP

Spr_3f_043.png

Photophobe (Male Oddish) @ Level 19
~Absorb
~Sleep Powder
~Stun Spore
~Poisonpowder

Comments: Modest! I'm amazed how high its Special Attack is, although there's an annoying large amount of Spearow, Ekans, and Oddish that completely stop it. Current LVP

Next update, I plan on going back through Viridian Forest and Mt. Moon to find the trainers and items I skipped, and catch new Pokemon to get the special items from the Aides. Also will get my next Scramble Pokemon :) And find out what Diglett's bottom half looks like.

BlueFire666, you get Farfetch'd. It hates Giovanni, and must be the only pokemon to use any moves against any of his pokemon throughout the game, except where this would conflict with another challenge.

@Bluefire, you get a Weedle!

Now, this Weedle is a little... different from other Weedle. It doesn't really care if it's male or female. Heck, he doesn't even care if they're in the same Egg group. Once it hits puberty (Kakuna), it is going to give 15 other poke's full on facials! Then it is going to show that bxtch who's the boss by knocking it out.

Once it has evolved further, it must continue to prove it's virility by Harden-Shotting the strongest pokemon of every Gym Leader, unless it clashes with another Challange. It no longer has to solo the pokemon, but must poison it with Poison Sting/Twineedle.

To sum up;
-Take a Male Weedle.
-Once it evolves, it must use Harden, then String Shot and Solo 15 pokemon.
-Once it evolves again, it must face the strongest poke of every Gym and HardenShot and then infect (poison) it. It does not have to survive the ordeal.
- Name it "Threadshot". Deliberate miss-spelling, A1. Suck it.

Bluefire, sorry for the delay, but you get Rainy the Squirtle, who must know & keep Rain Dance, & once he learns said move, he must use it when 1. He's on the battlefield & 2. It is not raining.
Have it solo 50 Trained Pokemon to evolve into Wartortle, & have it solo 3 Gym Leader Mains to evolve into Blastoise.

Have fun.

EDIT: @auramaster: Remember, GF won't let people deliberately manipulate the time without some sort of consequences...So there is no way of speeding up the time.

DOUBLE EDIT: From SQSA.

Read this...
Bulbapedia on Safari Zone Johto said:
Access to the Safari Zone is not automatic. Before players can traverse Routes 47 and 48 to get to the area, they must heal Glitter Lighthouse's sick Ampharos, Amphy. Only then will Baoba phone the player and announce that the Safari Zone is open for business.
i.e. That's when Safari Zone opens. Now for the next part...
Bulbapedia on Safari Zone Johto (Changing areas) said:
Three game-play hours after completion of the first challenge, Baoba will call the player and give them their second challenge.
i.e. Complete the first challenge, sit around for three hours gameplay time, then Baoba will open the area. This is only if Mounatin isn't one of the deafult areas.

And that, I believe, answers the question.

Just found out that, according to Bulbapedia, you get the call that the Area Customizer is finished 3 game-play hours after completing the first challenge.

Bluefire, take a Chansey. It must only know moves available in the first generation of Pokemon, and the following moves are off-limits: Softboiled, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, Counter, and Sing.

Bluefire, you get a Pidgey, caught in Route 1 as soon as you get your first Pokeballs. It was raised by a family of Togepis and Togetics! Therefore, it can only learn moves that can be learned by Togepi and Togetic in Gen III (besides its first level-up moves, as you have no choice in the matter). No further restrictions.

For your convenience, the full list of legal moves is:
Tackle, Sand-Attack, Gust, Quick Attack, Mirror Move, Toxic, Hidden Power, Sunny Day, Hyper Beam, Protect, Frustration, Return, Double Team, Aerial Ace, Facade, Secret Power, Rest, Attract, Steel Wing, Fly, Foresight, Double-Edge, Mimic, and Substitute.

I'm going to ask for an easy challenge for my Emerald version.

To make it easier for me, please follow these 4 rules for choosing pokemon:

-The pokemon must have at least 80 base in one of the attacking stats and be able to use good moves from said stat if it is a Specially based pokemon.
-No Slaking/its evolutionary relatives.
-I reserve the right to refuse challenges I deem unfair (SOLO WATSON WITH WINGULL TO EVOLVE IT).
-Moveset restrictions are fine but no irritating "you must use this move once the pokemon is sent out" challenges. I'm fine with a tackle-less magikarp but having to use splash every time I send it out is just dull.
