i concur. tablet interfaces aren't too bad [i'm not a particular fan, but eh], it's just that they used it for something that doesn't really appreciate that kind of interface - that is, something that isn't a touchscreen.
i got a laptop and tried to use windows 8 for a while, but i got annoyed at how it didn't flow as nicely as i liked and downloaded linux. much better. everything's totally free, so no paying for microsoft office or any of that bullshit [you get libre office which is basically the same thing - you can also save as a word document for the people with windows to read if you wish], and it's easily customisable to your liking.

but yeah if you don't like windows 8 or just windows in general i'd recommend linux. they're always updating it too [you're not forced to get the updates if you don't want to, though] so yeah, bugs don't usually stay for long.
