Smogon Council I - Salamence
READ THIS WHOLE POST AND FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS.
As I described in the original Smogon Council thread, nine players will be selected to cast a vote to decide the tiering of Salamence. If you believe you are qualified and are interested in being on the Council, you must post your application here. Your application must include the elements listed below. Descriptions and clarification of each element follow.
1) We ask for your primary shoddy account username in order to verify the claims you make about your rating and deviation. With the help of Doug, we are able to pull and examine extensive statistics about every player. We ask for your username to make sure we're looking at the right account. 2) Standard/Suspect Rating and Deviation: This provides us with a good measure of the amount of time and effort you put into test and your general experience with the game as of late. The numbers you post should correspond to the actual numbers available on the server at the time of your post. Screenshots are encouraged since all required numbers will be immediately verifiable. We will look these numbers up when we are evaluating applications. Any significantly large unfavorable variances between what you report here and what we find on the server won't help your chances. Providing a screenshot helps eliminates this risk for you. Your rating is computed as the average between the high and lows of the server provided range. Your deviation is the difference between the high and the low divided by 2. Use /record username to look up the information. 3) Tournament presence: This is just another way for us to evaluate your competency in the game. Anything you post here should be relevant to the test at hand. This means DP OU only. Any claims you make here should be supported by links to the individual tournament threads to allow us to quickly verify your claims. We welcome information relating to all tournaments from the past year, including #stark cups. 4) The optional short paragraph is there for you to simply sound off about why you should be chosen over everyone else. When I say short... I mean it. We are not interested in reading anything longer than a few sentences there. READ THIS WHOLE POST AND FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS. In about a week, this thread will be closed, and Jumpman and I will announce who has been chosen. A vote will be held shortly thereafter. Please do not be discouraged if you are not chosen... obviously nine is a rather small number so some competent people just won't make the cut. Thanks again to everyone for participating! |

Lately I've only been playing just enough to keep on the leaderboard, but oh well.

World Cup V: http://www.smogon.com/tournaments/worldcup/rosters Playing for Asia in the WCoP this year. Optional short paragraph: I feel that I have enough experience with the standard and suspect metagames to help make an informed decision on Salamence. Either way, I'm grateful for having the oppurtunity to apply to the council.

NOTES: My standard ladder CRE twice peaked at around 1420, possibly slightly higher, before the test began. Also, my Suspect CRE peaked at 1251 at the least. Screenshot:

I believe the fact that I hit these ratings on both ladders simultaneously is proof that I am very knowledgeable on both metagames, and have had a lot of experiences in both. The fact that I placed top 4 out of 128 in the recent FUK DRAGONS tournament and have a 70% win rate as a Frontier brain shows that I not only know how to succeed on the relevant ladders in both metagames, but in tournament scenarios as well. With this knowledge and experience, I hope to be selected as one of the 9 Smogon Council members. Thank you for considering me. Edit: I know this is already fairly long, but I also wanted to add that I have voted in the last five OU suspect tests, which shows that I have consistently kept up to date with all the metagames, and have proven on multiple occasions that my logic on tiering is sound. Sorry for the long post, and again, thanks. Edit 2: Added links to tournaments section.

 I've been in the top 5 in OU and Suspect at the same time on the same alt, spamming many battles along the way. I hope my extensive laddering can make up for the lack of tournament experience, but if not that's fine. |

But, this is my alt, cause my main suspect account (DespotarsSuspect) has about 1300 rating cause I made it after taking a break from battling, so I lost a lot. My OU rating would be higher, but I don't play it often. (I have many OU alts, (Despotars, DespotarsOU, etc) and I would rather have my many, many games played (Over 1000 at least) show for me. I know what OU V.S suspect is. I have payed plenty of both in my time, (right now for instance), and I know what I want. Please don't let my lack of good CRE turn you off. This team has beat some good players, beat Daddys Home (While he was #1) 1338, Dawn is Hawt, and firesong, all currently on the Suspect leaderboard.

 Tournament Presence: Non I haven't been on suspect that much but I'm playing OU literally everyday. I played with and against sala on different teams and have a deep understanding and knowledge of the current metagame. Hi. I dont know how to take a screen shot so I will just post my info. If anyone wants to they can check on Shoddy. I decided to do some OU laddering yesterday and today on the alt "straightoutofcali" because my other alt was just pretty lame. Also, I dont know if how much it matters as I'm not so familiar with how fast ratings drop, but I haven't played in 16 days on suspect (before yesterday) due to a trip to Italy.

  The reason for having a high deviation on the Suspect ladder is my timezone. Whenever I wanted to ladder on Suspect I rarely found people on the ladder, I hope my rating makes up for that, and for the record, I was #1 on the Suspect ladder for a while.
