Hey guys , i have one question:

1. Eligibility: The 2009 POKÉMON™ Video Game World Championships ("Tournament") is open to players who own or possess a NINTENDO® DS™ system, and an English-language version of POKÉMON™ Platinum (for U.S. Events) or a European version of POKÉMON™ Diamond or POKÉMON™ Pearl (for European Events)Version video game on or before 8/1/09.

is this rule really confirmed and active? I mean there are lot of players who actually just buy this game for the vgc or reset it...And the vgc staff can controll it by locking at the trainers info when "the adventure started" . I honestly hope that this rule is not active.

Ok, if anyone is going to Fremont tomorrow, PM me or something? I'll tell you how to find me there.

Actually, I'll just post here, I'll have a green DS Lite and I'll be wearing Brown Shorts along w/ a White T-Shirt.

Picollo, 8/1 means August the 1st, not January the 8th

thank you..the funny thing is ,that even the official German site says "january 8.2009" so it was even a mistranslation i guess loool.

anyway i forgot that you can change the time on your DS-System so it should not be a problem anymore.

pheew ^^

just for you, sweetie:

Quoted from the official rules (French version).

I'm going to be at City Beach tomorrow. Look for me in a green Ninja Turtles hat with a Palkia/Dialga DS lite

I'll probably be wearing a 2008 Showdown hat(with a Pikachu on the back) tomorrow. I hope I get picked. >_> I'll probably stay for the whole thing, but still, it'd be much more enjoyable if I was competing, haha.

I'd like to read a good warstory from London and to be honest I'm very interested in how many users will show up because that will allow us to draw conclusions for Berlin...

So do your best Havak, I hope both of you will get picked in the random drawing otherwise both of you wasted a trip >_> (saying that random drawing really sucks some serious balls -_-)

I'm going to London. I've got pretty high hopes of my team, so I'll be sure to write a good-quality warstory if I get in the tourney. However it'll be pretty hard to write one- seeing as it's on D/P only it'll all have to be from memory when people write their warstories of the European events. So yeah, sucks. Not as bad as the random draw idea though. Especially when people have to bust their balls and spend a lot of money just to make it to the venue.

Indeed. Hopefully, myself and Kinneas will have laptops with us to jot down certain things, and both of us will have video camera's if we're allowed to film it. My girlfriend is coming too, so if I'm busy in a match she can film matches, take pictures, maybe write stuff on the laptop about what's going and whatever other random crap.

I'm hoping some matches will be shown on big screens like at the US tournaments, so we can actually video some. I'll just do my best to remember everything and write them down after each round if possible (if I even get in, of course).

I'll be very annoyed if I don't get in, and probably just as annoyed if I get in but myself, Dan Dan, Kinneas, Giant Enemy Crab or anyone else I know get paired off in the first three rounds - that would suck lol. All I can do is hope.

Oh, also: My hotel is booked now :) and I'll be ordering my train tickets over the weekend, so everything should fall into place. If anyone else is needing accomodation in London, I suggest the Express Holiday Inn hotel in London on Old Street. The Circus Space is directly behind this hotel, about a minutes walk away - so it's very convenient. It's also one of the cheaper hotels I found, a room for two is £71 for the night (before tax), and it's £30 to add an extra person (up to four per room). Very nice looking for a 3-star hotel as well, I might add ;)

Maybe it could be a Smocon UK '09 :P

I'll be there tomorrow, I look like this: I have long hair with a big goldspot in it and I'll be wearing a Black and Silver checkered jacket with iPod earphones coming out of it. I also wear glasses:naughty:

Wee, good luck to all those going to the Fremont (San Francisco area) tourney. Here's the list of all those going to SanFran:
