Not fearful, just curious. Invictus makes a good point though, people are being much more creative this year than last.

If you're on your lonesome, keep an eye out for a scruffy looking white guy in a blue shirt with Ness' logo on it from Smash Bros.. I'll be with a dreadlocked fellow and a big hulking brute with a big beard who sorta looks like a lumberjack.

Yeah..thats kinda intimidating. ._.

Sorry this is a couple pages late:

Originally posted by Haku15: nice team but why didnt you run trick room on Dusknoir and reflect or hypnosis on the zong. since your dusk cant be faked outed except by a kangaskhan and zong could. im not saying your team is bad im just curious. ^_^

You know i really don't know why I did it that way at the VGC, mostly rushed, I had put the finishing touches on my team at 530 the morning of VGC and wasnt all together from then on. But I actually made that switch the other day, but havent filled zongs free slot now. I don't like hypnosis much tho, 60% accuracy scares me.

I'll be wearing all New York Mets cloths, probaly with a met hat. I might have my aipom plush with me (I know it's so manly!). I'm trying to convince my dad to use one of my teams, becuase i dont want to get there and not get picked.

PBB, I know you didn't get selected BOTH times you went to a regional this year... I'm sorry you hit such a bad spot of luck.

I can't help but dread the same will happen to me. I didn't get in with the odds on my side last year, they're going to be STACKED this year... It's a little stressful.

If any of you play TCG, there's a Pokemon tournament just 20 minutes from the site. There's also the huge mall so at least you got something to do if you are not chosen.

Shit, i just realized this is the same day as the SAT's, dam, i was actually going to go to
zerowing- they're so plain -_-

smogon university at a pokemon event would definitely be such an awesome idea indeed.

Anyways that's a reminder for me to set aside which closes I'll wear which shall include at least a white t-shirt and bluejean shorts at least.

of course I hope we can get in a group photo of us while we're in Philadelphia at least.

also, I found this out via BlueCookies that the nationals in St. Louis will be doing the elimination via Swiss style, and not single elimination like the qualifiers. I'm not too keen on swiss, but anything besides single elimination is good news IMO.

So, now I really really want to go to St. Louis, even if just to try for the lottery. Anybody want to donate to the "get PBB to STL" fund? :( :P

Just to avoid hassles I probably won't be wearing the pokemon staff jacket I mentioned a few months ago. I'll be in one of those black Smogon/Koffing shirts that Zerowing is selling out of the back of his van. Probably some black jeans.. bout 5'7, white, really short brown hair.

Also, to that RedCorn guy: Getting there early doesn't guarantee you a spot, it's a random drawing of all entrants.

The white t-shirt I will be wearing is from a road race I had ran in as it was called "Run for the Rocks". Unless my wife forces me to wear something else, that's what I intend to wear.

Oh I'm 6'4" tall with a greying goatee

Wow, I did not notice that. That means that if by some miracle I manage to get in and place high enough, I'll have to stay overnight for the final rounds.

I wonder if they'll let me sleep in the Giratina inflatable lol

Edit: Also I hope they don't do something retarded like put all the Smogoners in one flight in a similar fashion to JAA.

Just to be on the safe side, everyone participating this weekend who has more than one of a one-per-game-TM in their bag should store the extras attached to a Pokemon in their boxes. Even though you can get them legitimately, you might be DQ'd anyway (as was Giant Enemy Crab in London). Maybe they're just being stupid in Europe, but who knows.

If you get DQ'd on stupid grounds like that, maybe you can appeal to Marrilland. He's been the guest referee at every American stop so far.

It's plain for a reason, not all of us want to walk around town with Pokemon plastered on our backs, the simple Koffing skull and crossbones does wonders for keeping with a Pokemon theme but not flaunting that you do indeed play Pokemon. Other Pokemon players, especially people who visit Smogon, would almost instantly get it, other than that it is a stylish shirt anyone could wear.

Thanks for the heads up. Even though our games were checked last year and came across as legit, we still had max TMs in our games but we still don't want to take any careless chances if it means the difference of either going to St.Louis or not.

I'll be there, I'll probably be wearing a brown polo t shirt with some white shorts. I'm about 6 feet tall too lol. Hopefully I'll see you guys there!

I'd love to go, but I've got SATs on Saturday, so I don't think I can attend. Not legally being able to drive out of New Jersey would also have been a problem. I planned a team anyway just for the fun of it.

Lead with Shuckle (Power Trick and Focus Sash) and a Bronzong (Trick Room). Dusknoir and Starmie as backup, basically used as sweepers.

I feel like I'd have a good team. Suckle could probably sweep pretty well after maxing his attack power. He'd go first because of Trick Room. Earthquake and Rock Slide could hit both enemies, and Protect will be there to stop getting hit from Explosion. Starmie and Dusknoir should be able to clean up the scraps.
