How do you RNG fossils in D/P?
The same way you RNG any Method 1 pokemon.
find your wanted seed.
Give desired pokemon's fossil to researcher and then save game.
Then just a matter of hitting your correct seed and frame remember collecting the fossil increases frame by 1 so allow for that and also there are no NPC's in D/P to worry about.
give it to him, go outside, come back in then save. The IVs/nature/shinyness etc.. are generated when he gives it to you.Oh I give it to him THEN save? Can anyone confirm this is correct?
I will soon be trying to catch the legendary birds in my platinum game but must kill them first to respawn them and stuff. I have never tried going for a method 1 pokemon, and even less three at the same time.
The guide says that one bird appears at frame 1, the other at 6 and the third at frame 11 . My question is: this frame refers to what? the save frame before talking to Oak (I'm assuming that the whole RNG abuse must be done before talking to Oak) or the frame you will find them in a patch of grass(if this even makes sense)? Using the files given in the guide for seeds, will these IVs be for the first bird I catch or for all of them? Or how exactly is it determined? Does the coin flip trick work here? If so, should be done when? Before or after talking to Oak?
What's the best way around catching these birds?
If anyone could help me catch these birds, I would really appreciate and be willing to catch it in the nature and IV spread of your choice (to give you a copy of course).
The frames 1, 6, 11 refer to the bird's monster frames, the frames that they would be released on if you didn't do any prior RNG advancements, so when calculating the number of advancements you will have to take the individual bird's monster frame into account. You should only RNG one bird at a time since they are all method 1 in platinum and the chances of you finding to good spreads on the same method 1 seed on the correct frame is slim to none. You do everything before talking to oak, all your advancements before (and yes you can use the journal here), check your seed before talking to oak as well and yes you can use the coin flip trick. Once the birds are released their IVs/nature/shininess is set and will not change as long as they roam around, should you happen to faint them so you can regenerate them later they will be re-released with a different set of IVs/nature.I will soon be trying to catch the legendary birds in my platinum game but must kill them first to respawn them and stuff. Still looking for this, help would be greatly appreciated.
When you talk to Oak, the three birds will appear on 3 frames, 1 on frame 1, 1 on frame 6 and 1 on frame 11.The guide says that one bird appears at frame 1, the other at 6 and the third at frame 11 . Does not count. If you double tap the Happiness Checker, but the Pokémon Don't/does'nt hop, does it count as a double tap? I assume no, but I wanted to double check.
hey there,
I have recently tried to get a shiny pokemon from an egg using the RNG abuse guide provided on the main site.
I failed, but since it is costing quite some effort just to prepare for 1 shiny hatch, I wanted to know if it will be worth my time to keep trying, since I do not have access to any speed-enhancing codes on my original cartridge, and I have no idea whether I'm on the right track.
the things I'm not sure about in the process are the following:
-I used the "chain to SID" method to derive my SID, but 1 of the shinies I used for this I caught a long time ago and is EV trained, and while I do know the different amounts, I'm not 100% sure on which stats they are alotted
-the # of times I tap the happiness checker (in the failed attempt I had to tap it 750 times)
-the things I can check that might indicate I am actually on the right track
-the practicality of the whole process once I can confirm that it works for me on the cartridge I have (e.g.: do I have to repeat the process a lot if I want to find suitable IVs/natures?)
sorry it's such a long post, I have a hard time getting to the core of the problem in more things :nerd:
Thank you!Does not count.
I also have a question: For the roaming legendaries on Platinum, when are IVs generated?
Not what I ment. I am only getting odd delays. Just not the one I need, had 625 about 10 times now. 629 10 times too. Every single one from 617-639 atleast 3 times, not a single 627 though.odd/even delays can be adjusted by either adding a GBA game card in slot or moving the down & up arrow in the menu before pressing continue (at least works in HG/SS)
