ummm.... I think so. But what exactly is a target frame, a roamer, and a monster frame?

Are they something that I need to do with journal flip?

If so, how do I advance the them when I'm trying to rng capture a naive heatran?

The Frame should be 687

Target frame = the frame you are aiming to hit, in this case 687

Roamer= are pokemon that roam when released, i.e. cresslia, mespirt and the three birds if playing platinum

Monster frame = the frame the monster is(I think that the correct term)

Before you do page flips you will need to do calculations to see how many page flips are need

Remeber the formula for page flips is

Target frame - Monster frame - roamers = page flips

so in your case it should be

687[targetframe] - 1[heatran frame]-0[if you have no roamers] = 686

686/2 = 343 page flips

But be sure you know if you have any roaming pokemon that are currently roaming in sinnoh, because they advance the frame by 1 if they are.

Also make sure you have at least 1 page inyour journal that said you captured or defeated a pokemon.

My advice if you know that there is no roamers.
1. Save directly in front of heatran
2. Set you DS to the wanted date
3. Start the game again and save again (this make the journal not pop up)
4. Set your DS to the wanted time and try to hit your time
5. When you hit the time(correct seed), then do the 343 page flip, talk to heatran and you should hit your seed.

Also if your using a sync or not using a sync

please be sure to put that information in the rngreporter

Okay,
Well….. according to my journal, it says that I caught a meditate from the grass/caves, giratina from the distortion world, Azelf, Uxie, Mesprit, Rotom, and Mantyke from the water

Do I look at the journal before I start battling heatran or before I save?

Are long as they are not on the same page this is good.

You will have to do the journal flips before you battle heatran

in DPpt, if you make the old man turn(because you saved to right of him or above him) to you to recieve your egg does the frame advance/?( as opposed to saving in front of the direction he is in ( i.e. the left)

Hmmm... okay, Does flipping on the same pages in the journal over and over again still advance the frame?
Yes, it does just as long as it have capture or defeated

its should not, I done that several time and it havent mess up my frame

Okay, I'll give it a shot right now.

But just 4 more questions.

Even if the mantyke and meditite that I caught wasn't found in the wild with sweet scent, does the mantyke still advance the frame by 3 and the meditite still adavance the frame by 2?

And does having 5 pokemon in your party also advance your frame as well?

if it does, how much frame points will it advance?

Do I just look at my team in order to advance the frame?

I am still getting probs with my target time.

my wanted time & delay=
wanted time = 20:02:16
wanted delay = 639

and I'm getting this=
time = 20:02:15
delay = 639

I already got this delay & time for about 9x. Anyone got an idea how to get +1 second in the time so I can reach my wanted time? Riski already told me I should do my ds clock +1 minute but when I do that I enter the game at 20:03:16 since my pikatimer gives me 1 minute before target. and at 20:03:16 I don't get any elm response that match. so please could someone give me any advice? (sorry I posted it again but I know people won't check a few pages before and this is the last thing at RNG :pirate:)
and btw

second time I'm telling you, check the first page for the article about frame advancing before asking about frame advance. I'll give you the answer this time, 5 pokémon in your party won't advance.

Okay because im going to save to the right of him so i can get rid of 1 NPC! they are so annnoying!

The 2 cowgirls are easy to manipulate not to move but the other 3 guy npc arent

???Your still talking about page flips correct?
If so, then every page flip with "capture or defeated" will only advance th
e frame by 2
And does having 5 pokemon in your party also advance your frame as well?

Unless in area with wild pokemon (cave/grass/lake/ etc)

Unless you walk 128 steps your pokemon will not advance the frame

(in Heatran case, its a cave with non-wild pokemon so, your pokemon cannot advance the frame unless you walk 128 steps)

if it does, how much frame points will it advance?

Given the condition that your in Heatran cave, for 128 steps you take your frame will advance by the number of pkmn in your party

Do I just look at my team in order to advance the frame?

Only way to advance frame in Heatran cave are:
Journal Page Flip
Walkin 128 steps

Sweet Scenting (not recommended)

Okay, Just one more question, this might be a stupid one. but... what does the 1 right beside the 12 mean?

For example: On this link beside the word distortion world under Method J.

http://www.smogon.com/ingame/rng/dpp_rng_part4#methodj
That a special case only for giratina-o

in the distortion world giratina-o is frame 1like every other pkmn but everytime you access something that cause you to not see distortion world(ie entering your bag or switching pkmn) will cause your frame to advance by 11

T4lel

That is a tricky problem.

Unless your know what your doing, you can mess with either the first timer or second timer, nut not recommended unless your know what your doing

The only thing I can possibly offer you that you may want to kinda delay the time your press A on the continue screen,(so, like press A a little later than normal)

This work for me 30-50% of the time

Is pikatimer asking you to set the DS clock 1 min. before the wanted time?

Okay, I'm about way way way too close to give up. I set the time correctly, I got it at 15 seconds like the reporter said I did, I did journal flips like guys told me after I start the game before I battle heatran, I did everything exactly what you guys told me, and I'm still having no luck at all. :(

This is best iv set of the Heatran that I've got.

22/8/20/18/22/31

Thanks you guys sooooo much. I've just RNG'd my first pokemon

Quiet Shaymin
31/30/31/30/31/2 HP Fire 70

I want to RNG Uxie, Darkrai, and Azelf, what would be suitable natures and hidden powers?

Find out what frame you did hit and do more/less flips accordingly.

If you hit an odd frame and you need an even one or vice versa, take 128 steps with an odd number of Pokemon in your party.

Diabolico: Did you check your coin flips to see that you hit your delay? ^^ RNG requires you to not only hit your seconds (which is simple) but also your delay too.

I did not do the coin flips.

The delay is suppose to be 799

The Time is suppose to be 12:45:15

The Date is suppose to be 1/1/2010

The seed is suppose to be 3d0c0329

The frame is suppose to be 687

And the iv set is suppose to be 30/31/31/30/31/31

There's your problem. Do the coin flips to check if you have the right seed. Doing the flips will not interfere with your frame, therefore skipping this step is possible if you're somehow incredible at RNGing and can hit your delay and seed perfectly every time, but not advised, since you can skip capturing it and just reset if you got the wrong seed, which judging by your problems seems to be the case.

So do I just do the coin flip before I start battling heatran after I turn the game on? But what if it's not the right coin flips?

You do coin flip to check your delay. If the coin flip does not match your target coin flip then make adjust if needed.

You do coin flips before you battle heatran.

Startgame-coinflip-rngadvancement-battle

Not to be rude but have you read guide #4 capturing pokemon?

Yes. Here's how I've done it:

1. Start game, reset, etc. (Getting the needed seed and delay)

2. Coin Flips (I have this app as the current one so I don't have to flip through other apps, used to verify the delay, 10 flips should do)

3a. If the flips don't match the order shown by RNG Reporter, check what delay you did get there. Turn off your DS, and go back to 1 and restart until they match. Adjust Pikatimer (if you're using it) if needed.

3b. If the flips match, advance the RNG.

4. Battle

One thing to note is that if you find yourself constantly getting even delays, you may want to change your year by 1 to 2009 or 2011, as that'll change your wanted delay to an even number.

EDIT: Whoops. Guess someone else already answered lol.

No it's okay. You also gave some advice that I can use for sure. Thank you. ^^
