Most Underrated Pokémon of Generation 5

Poor Beartic(Tsubeaa)...(Polar bear) Hes so underrated hes not even MENTIONED on the most underrated list.

He's only good with Swift Swim (being one of the few Swim Pokemon that could deal with Nattorei although there is also Poliwrath and Focus Blast) and since Swift Swim+Drizzle is banned right now, there isn't much purpose that isn't done by something else although I agree, he is somewhat interesting, just not usually enough for most people being so slow without the speed and an Ice type.

Life Orb crimgan/Drudiggon/Rockface whatever is my favorite set. It OHKO nattrei and if his HP is at 70 % it beat rankurusu one on one. It also OHKO latios after SR. I wonder why everyone say it just sucks and must go to NU if it can do all those in one set.

IMO the most underrated poke is sygiliph. He has good speed and relatively good other stats, and with magic guard and psycho shift, he can spread status like no other pokemon! combine this with assist power and cosmic power, he is pretty hard to take down.

I couldn't agree more to this. But it also makes somewhat of an okay Magic Guard + Life Orb sweeper (even though Reuniclus outclasses Sigilyph at the job, what Sigilyph has over Reuniclus is its good Speed); I use it in Pokemon Online:
-Psycho Shock/Psychic
-Air Slash
-Hidden Power (Fighting)
-Roost
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard

I've used Sigilyph and he's just awesome. It's pretty much a 6-turn timer for the opponent.
Problem is that he rarely swept for me because right after I finished setting up, he would get hit by some random critical hit :/

Also, an someone explain to me how Crimgan is ANY good?

Someone mentioned he can KO Latios after SR, but that's not exactly much of an accomplishment ans how is he killing Latios when he's so slow?

Sucker Punch.

It might not be amazing just yet, but quite frankly there is very little scope for new things being that good in this metagame, IMO.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned already, but with the right support, you can sweep entire teams with it.

Lv. 1
Donphan @ Shell Bell
Sturdy Ability
EVs/IVs/Natures do not matter
-Endeavor
-Ice Shard
-Filler
-Filler

Does not work on ghosts. Opponent attacks you, survive with sturdy, endeavor until 1 HP, shell bell restores health to full, Ice Shard next turn. Repeat. Even if the opponent doesn't attack, their HP is still reduced, due to Donphan being level 1. If given proper support, it can actually sweep teams. It's a fun gimmick I like to use from time to time.

The problem is that a good opponent will not attack you.
Which means that, unless they switch to a Ghost-type, their Pokemon is going to be reduced to extremely low HP. And they won't be doing anything to the Pokemon that attacked. Doesn't sound like a good response.

The biggest problem, though, is the legality issues. From what I understand, it isn't actually possible to get a LV1 Donphan, and higher-leveled ones are obviously less effective.

I've been able to use a level 1 Donphan on PO.

HELL YEA STUNFISK.
I be rocking this mothaf*ka all over PO.

*Ahem*

Set Name: King Of All Terds (Aka DERPDERHERP)
Nature: Impish
Item: Leftovers
EVs: 252Hp/252SpDef/4Def
Moves:
- Curse
- Earthquake
- Sleep Talk
- Rest

Conkledurr be hating so hard on that Sleep Talk.

Curse is the best boosting move for the King Of All Terds. Skyrocketing that sexy base 66 attack to back up that devestating STAB EQ, after two Curses Stunfisk is the most badass booster around. Not to mention with those monstrous 109/84/99 defenses, you know this bitch is the best tank of BW. ResTalk, now amazingly exclusive to BW Pokes, is just what Stunfisk needs to prolong his longetivity. But his HP's never gonna get that low.

The ability you wanna run is a toughie. Do you want Static's haxy 30% paralysis chance, or resistance to paralysis yourself? Because you know, being a 32 base speed Ground type, Stunfisk is highly susceptible to Thunder Wave and Thunder's paralysis rate, not to mention the speed cut is horrendous; you really need to outrun Snorlax and friends for this set to work.

The only ability that Stunfisk has which has a clear edge on the others is Sand Veil, which is DW unreleased. Until then, I personally prefer Static. But it's up to you.

Other options? I suppose you could run Spark as another STAB move, but that's illegal with Sleep Talk, so I guess you can't. This is all you need.

Creamgun needs Stealth rock to ohko Latios with sucker punch? I've always used an adamant nature with him...didn't know that.

I'm going to have to mention Gallade. Specifically, bulk up Gallade. He has earned his place in this metagame. In a bulk up war against either Scrafty or Conkeldurr, Gallade will always win due to his fighting resistance and dark nuetrality. Base 125 attack beats out Scrafty's base 90 and his drain punch is also hitting way harder. If need be, Gallade can cripple other offensive threats with Will-o-MISS and HypnoMISS. Thunderwave isn't bad either. And priority shadow sneak? The same priority shadow sneak that ohkos Gengar after a single sword's dance? Who could ask for more.

Kurimugan
252 Atk/252 HP/6 SpD
Life Orb
Sucker Punch
Fire Fang
Dragon Claw/Outrage
Earthquake/Superpower/Crunch/Toxic/Taunt

Attempting to use sucker punch to nulify its speed, crimgan is a surprisingly good sucker punch user able to beat some threats in the metagame such as unsuspecting Latios with sucker punch which 2HKO, OHKO with 1 round of SR. Dragon Claw and Outrage is the same power/lock argument and is mandatory for its STAB and general go to move in early game. Fire Fang is a must on this set and basicaly the crux of the set. It OHKO nattrei and maim things that dont resist it especialy backed with double LO boost and 120 base attack. Theres many candidate for the last moveslot. Earthquake is to give perfect neutral coverage and is generaly more spammable than Superpower. Superpower, despite the power decrease is a very great move. It allow it to OHKO tyranitar, and some passing Dark Type. Even though Crunch seems stupid with sucker punch, it is your best bet for dealing with Rankurusu. Toxic is to beat bulky pokemon that shut down crimgan such as hippowdon. Finally Taunt can be used to prevent some move on slower(and sometime faster) pokemon that attempt to set up and generaly synergize with sucker punch.

OC :
Thunder Fang can be used to handle water type. Glare can be used for paralyze support. Pursuit can be used to trap pokemon that you predicted to switch out. Yeah kurimugan kinda suffer from 4 moveslot syndrome

Calcs

85% - 100.3%
Superpower from crim

EQ
99.5% - 117.6%

since i dont know how to quote heres the LO set ive been using,
Yeah COMPARED TO OTHER DRAGON he might not so beastly
But in term of good, working set, this set definitely pull its weight

This thing is actualy quite good since encourage boosted move is so great with 120 base attack

(alert : THIS SET IS WEAK TO BULKY POKEMON THAT ISNT WEAK TO ITS COVERAGE IN A METAGAME WHERE BULKY OFFENSE RUN RAMPANT)

Druddigon should never use Outrage. It's too slow to pose a threat to anything with the move; all it would accomplish is making it trap itself and allowing itself to be KOed by anything faster.

Tsunbear in Rain was actually pretty damn awesome in early Gen 5. People never expected it, and Icicle Drop Spam often netted a nice flinch with which to rip through teams - it's undeniably it's best use and niche, anyway. It's just a shame it has so many weaknesses, both typing wise and just from the metagame in general. Hopefully it will one day relieve the stress of an awful movepool with some Move Tutors.

In Trick Room, Life Orb/Choice Banded Outrage is beastly and even outside it is pretty hard to ohko being a pure Dragon meaning only a Dragon can. It can be 2 hit koed, but they're losing something or two somethings if they don't have a dragon.

I completely agree. Reuniclus has kind of taken over as the dominan poke with Magic Guard, but a Calm Mind Assist Power set with a Flame Orb and Psycho shift on Sygliph can be incredibly difficult to take down

That is the exact Sigilyph that I'm using now, ever since the start of gen 5...

It virtually NEVER DIES, unless its a reuniclus running Psycho Shock or a crit happens. >:(

I must say, after using a Mono-Psychic team, some Underrated pokemon I've found were:

Medicham: Slap a Scarf on this thing and you have one hard-hitting poke. High Jump Kick got a buff this Generation, and with Pure Power, it hurts...a lot.

Gallade: People seriously underestimate this thing's Special Bulk. I run Wow/DPunch/Shadow Sneak/TWave, and it works wonders. Crits and hard hitting attacks make him cry, though, and can't switch into TTar w/o either Reflect up or Prior Burning.

Slowbro: Regeneration Choice Specs. I believe i don't need to say anymore...

Anything with Choice Specs kills it easily. Thunder/bolt Voltolos also.

I do love Sigilyph with CP/Assist Power though :)
