5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Don't start your C-gear from the continue screen. Actually go all the way into the game (past the screen where it shows the season), before you turn on your C-Gear.

I think he's saying hat he's hitting continue at the end of the first. This is wrong. You soft reset at the end of the first.

This may be a dumb question...but is it possible to have a target frame of 1? Or will that not work?
I'm pretty sure it's not possible, since the starting frame for non C-Gear seeds is 1, and getting what you want would most likely be 1, which makes a frame of 2.

As for my question since I'm being ignored on the Simple Questions thread, is there a reliable person who would be willing to check people's SIDs?

Not unless you make a robot hand to do it for you.
Everything's better with robot hands.
It's -95? Oh, I thought it was -45 if you had a DSi. Thanks for the heads-up; that was probably what was screwing me up. I'll edit this post if I end up hitting the delay or coming close :)
Neither one of those should put you that far off. You're using the new method, right? The last user who had this problem was using the old one, and that's what messed him up.

Thank you very much for the info.

Also, is it possible to calibrate for a pokemon elsewhere? From the sounds of the 4th gen guide, I only have to calibrate once. Ex: I go to victory road, find the calibration for x pokemon and then adjust accordingly. Then, try to catch Reshiram with the given calibration.

I'm just trying to find some way to find IVs; using Reshiram is too hard =/

The calibration for a given cartridge and DS should always be constant, yes. You'll still have to retry on Reshiram a few times, though, since you can't verify that you hit your seed in-game even after calibration.

I want to RNG an Axew. How can I make it so that I always encounter an Axew?

does your frame have to be below 5 for you to hit any seeds

Your frame has nothing to do with what seed you hit.

In order for the Search IVs feature to find something, then yes your frame has to be 5 or lower. Otherwise you'd have to look for what you hit yourself. If you advance to say, frame 6, the 6th IV listed is HP. Meaning the 10th would be Sp. Def.

If you advance to frame 7, then the 7th IV listed is HP. Meaning the 10th would be Sp. Atk.
If you advance to frame 8, then the 8th IV listed is HP. Meaning the 10th would be Defense.

And so on.

What I do when I have a frame higher than 5 is to only look at what stat the 10th IV is and compare it to what I got in game and see what seed has that. Then I see if the other IVs match up.

This probably sounds confusing, but it's not.

I've been trying to RNG Kyurem for a day or so, but to no avail. Here's my information.

Seed: 22BC4E21
MAC Address: b844b3
Target Time: 4:00:30
Target Date: 4/01/2011
Delay: 2403
Frame: 4
Timer: Eon Timer

I've set calibration on Eon Timer to -95, and caught a pokemon after going through the steps of calibration, meaning I tried to hit the seed, but didn't advance frames before catching the pokemon, to check if I had hit the seed and to get closer.

Then, I attempted to found the IVs of the pokemon, and searched for them in the seeds of the adjacent delays/seconds, with a range of -999/+999 and -8/+8. However, when I entered the IVs, which were 29/28/4/9/21/6, I was unable to find it within the adjacent delays/seconds, which distressed me, because I was either incredibly off, or doing it completely wrong.

Here's some more information.

My character is camped in front of Kyurem with one pokemon in the party, a synchronizer, ready to advance the frames. He has Super Repel on, because of the pokemon in the cave. I use the two stage timer, EonTimer, and at the end of the first timer, I soft reset, and at the end of the second timer, I press Yes to turn on the C-Gear.

I am unsure what I am doing wrong, or if I am doing anything wrong and this is supposed to happen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Holy crap I just realized what I've been doing wrong. I haven't been using the same DS as the one that I got the mac address from. Sorry! Dumb oversight. v.v

It has to be below 5 for you to calibrate. Frames have nothing to do with seed. Seed is determined by when you start the game, and the delay between then and when you start the C-Gear. At this point, no matter what seed you hit, you're on frame 1 of that seed. Then you advance it to whatever frame your spread is on from there.

Use repels and run around in front of it to advance the frame to something higher (for example, if you find a seed at frame 8, you can go in there with 5 Pokémon and advance it once).

@mangaguy: Are you setting your DS time to 3:59 (1 minute before target) when you start the timer?

Yes, I am.

yeah i am using repels,i had a target frame of 5 with two pokes in my party, and ran 128 + 2 steps then talked to cobalion, but got no matches for its iv's
i never get any matches unless i use a frame of 3 for anything,i am rng'ing

Heyy i was jw i think i saw somewhere that there is going to be a guide to 5th gen rng and was jw when it going to be posted

thanks :)

ehm, it is written in the first post of the first page... (oh my god)

I wanted to ask exactly when thundurus' ivs are generated, because omegadonut said when you encounter him out of the house, but kaphotics said they are set when he flies away...

and, how does it work for reshiram and zekrom? why is it impossible to abuse for their ivs without losing against N\filling the boxes?
I know you wrote it hundreds of times but everything is a bit confused in the posts...
