Woooooh! Go Omega! Why are multiple people getting byes though? I'm hearing from friends in the TCG LCQ that the same thing is happening there... I thought a bye was something that ONE person got if there weren't an even number of people left in the tournament at the start of the round (in order to make an even number of people to pair against each other).

I'm a little late but I'm just stopping by to wish everyone good luck at Worlds this weekend. I've been fairly busy but I'm trying to keep up. xD

It depends how many people make it into the finalists lounge. This depends on the total number of players that entered the LCQ, because it's Single Elimination. The Birmingham, England VGC tournament had 27 players make the finalists lounge (for various reasons). There needed to be 16 players in the round after, so 11 games were played between 22 players, with 5 people getting byes. Thus getting a Top 16.

Congratulations to everyone who made it through the LCQ, does anyone have info on how Expert Evan and Lord Feraligatr did?

I was glad to meet everyone today!
Sadly, me and TheCalmSnivy played each other in the 3rd round of Seniors LCQ.
I was a great 1st Worlds for me.
I was the kid in the bright red Japan sweatshirt. I also saw:
-Cybertron
-maski
-Unreality
-TheCalmSnivy (duh)
so yeah see you all tommorow

Was pretty weak in top 12 game, luck was prohibitive enough that I didn't have much of a shot(needed to not get spored on the Shroom live in particular) but my lead choices weren't as good as they should have been given it was pretty obvious what my opponents best option was... made a poor choice there that put me behind the 8ball early. Ended up 4-1 today to go 15-4 on the year, lot of unfortunate last minute losses this year but had a good time.
 
Wait, I thought Alaka beat Deagle? What happened to that? Then Alaka wasn't mentioned being defeated so did he lose to Deagle?

Also, I want to wish all of my friends in Seniors and Masters good luck as I'll be cheering you guys on! In particular, Cybertron and Human. C'mon guys, let's do this!

Also, when do you get to find out where Worlds next year will take place? I'm curious to know.
 
Alaka did beat Deagle. Was on the tellybox, with a baying crowd. Alaka won that one.
Worlds is in Hawaii agan next year, the cards in the competitor goody bag had it on for August 12-14 of next year.
Gatr made it to the 3rd round of LCQ, I can't say for Expert Evan though, I lost track. Was alot to follow.
 
I lost because his Scrafty survived two times with about 1-5hp and in the end he won the Thundurus-speedtie.. This is what the fucking metagame is about: speedties,flinches,ch. deagle would have beaten alaka i guess but he had a rock slide ch on deagles bulky tornados..

Congrats to everyone who made it through the LCQs! :D Quick question though, were there a lot of Japanese players participating in the LCQs? Prior to today I presumed there were gonna be many but the results seem to show otherwise.

I doubted it from the start. No way were Japs going to make the trip ALL THE WAY from Japan without any real-life playtesting and having no absolute idea of how their teams will work against others except for on PO and other competitive sites including Smogon. It just wouldn't be worth it.
