Verlander 8 ip 2 h 0 r, Valverde blows the save xD

welcome to baseball again ^_^

edit: fuck the sox's pen

Austin Jackson is useful again :D
Jhonny Peralta was angry that he got snubbed for post season awards and went 1.00.

Verlander, nuff said.

Melcanon finds a way to screw me up even after I drop him and Kershaw already out because he's sick ._.

Also it dawned on me that I own the entire Detroit Tigers outfield so if someone wants to trade one of them for a closer thatd be super :)

It's a dance craze you idiot...

Laughed my pretty little ass off today when I was watching the Yankee loss to the Rays. Quite funny, you could tell it was going to happen right when number 42 got up on the mound, as Mo really looks old. Besides giving me a good laugh, it also inspired me to post this...

Hahahahahahahahahahaha...

Carlos Pena...

Welcome back...

oh hey look, Cabby can play 3B. He's a pretty good hitter too. Oh, yeah- Prince is decent also.

"play".

Unfortunately, sample sizes are way too small to have any defensive stats, but I'm just going to say that he'll be the worst defensive third basemen all year. If you're judging it based off of watching a couple of games.. :s

(not that it matters how bad he is, you'll take pleasure in their being no way the Tigers can't win the AL Central this year!)

Precisely.

You and everyone else. And yet, since spring training he's looked like an average defender who's handled himself well. I'll predict that, aside from the few errors due to paranoia from his freak injury, he'll plesently surprise everyone by looking like an average 3B, as he has since the start of March.

Making no errors doesn't make him a good third baseman. You'd rather have a third baseman with great range making more errors than a third baseman with no range who makes one less error and has terrible range.

I've seen Cabrera play, and the consensus from everyone is that he has no range, and doesn't have the natural jump for reflexes to cover a lot of space. So, no, he hasn't looked like an average third baseman. He just doesn't cover enough ground. I'm sorry that you can't see that, but when the batted ball stats come are more plentiful I'll happily link you to comparison data between him and others.

Just understand, someone doesn't go from being a below average first baseman to above average third baseman. You don't get better going to the harder position, ever.

Even though my Rangers lost, man do I feel like a boss for taking a flier on Hector Santiago, Stallion 1 - Robin Ventura 0.

This is my one completely homer post for the month I promise.

JP ARENCIBIA HOW THE FUCK DO YOU NOT COME UP WITH THAT THROW.

That is all.

God damn Verlander...

In 2012 Clayton Kershaw will outpitch Justin Verlander, you heard it here first (and maybe on ESPN or something). He's always been an Ace but last season was a fairly big jump for him.

Ahem anyway it's early days as we enter the second week of fantasy, but I'm pretty stoked that my team is in first. I had no idea how the strategy of "buy elite players you can rely on at a markup if you have to, don't bid for like 100 rounds in a row, and use your remaining spare change to buy players who are serviceable/with upside" would work. Truth be told I still don't haha, I could end up coming last for all I know. It makes sense that I'm doing well from the standpoint that the elite players I chased will be somewhat more free of the inconsistencies faced by even the next tier down I guess.

It's only week two. If your team get's a big season ending injury, you'll probably not
be too hot. It's a long season, so don't count the chips before you win the hand.

Nats are 5-2! It's a shame that Gio didn't get the win; he pitched well. There's no way they're going to keep getting all of their runs from wild pitches and bases loaded walks, though, so they're going to start losing games if they can't start hitting in runs.
