I would also know if he was a Smogoner...we played two times, one match 20 minutes and the other 25. Both so epic and it came down to the last turn both games, every turn involving some form of prediction, and the best thing about it was even though they were so close he didn't disconnect either time, class act right there.

I must be getting pretty fortunate with the people I get. I have done 44 battles in this tournament and none of them have disconnected mid-battle. I've only had 3, and they were while sending results. Who knows, maybe it pairs fair people with fair people.

So I did a few more battles this afternoon, I'm now at:
41 win / 3 loss / 3 disconnect and rating just over 1800

The only one I lost today was down to me getting double Flinched too. Joys.
 
I was very frustrated at the start of this, as my team doesn't work and I got two DC's against me and two losses. But now I'm 8-2-2 with about 1600~ so that's pretty cool. I'm still not going to take this tournament as seriously as I did for the last one, but I'll see if I can avoid DC's and not lose much. Might actually rank this time, if I get the battling time in I'll try to end on about 1700.

That was yesterday sometime, probably a long time ago for you (I think you had 1871 rating then). It was the last battle I had in the tournament though... busy with other things. If it is, gg! We both made some good and bad moves in that match.
 
The winning rating for the Autumn Friendly was 2053 I think, and my winning rating for the International tournament was 1993. I'd aim for 2000+ if your goal is to win the tournament.
 
Alright, I'm finishing with a rating of about 1750. I'm going out of town for the rest of the weekend half an hour or so, so I won't be able to do any more battles. I might have made it to the 1800s if my internet hadn't stopped working for most of yesterday, but I might have a couple of hours tomorrow to get there. Good luck to everybody that's still competing, and make sure that somebody from smogon wins this thing!

I played DAFOR before.

So 2100 is the goal? Yeesh... I've been winning like 1 point a game. I need to play some other 1900's that won't disconnect on me if I'm going to have a shot.

Really intense battle though aside from the avoid GG!

I haven't run into that many DC's, but its sad when I do :( I've dropped all the way down to 1550's and can't seem to get back up. It would've been nice if the few times I won it would actually count. The DC's just suck all the fun right out of the tourney.
Oh well, I peaked at 1600 on the first day so I guess I can count that as a pretty good first time.
 
None above 1500 today, but no disconnects. Played someone with a Gen 5 only team, there was a ton of hax against me but their team and skill were so adequate it wasn't too hard a win for me. It's funny, Hitmontop seems to be an amazing pokemon against inexperienced players. Wish I could play someone on here, actually have a real challenge! I know there are other good players, but it's not like I can discuss the game with them and they are some heck of a lot more likely to disconnect

So umm.. not to drag this up again but I don't know why everyone was fighting with you when I was the one you DC'd against (The trick room team).

The reason it's more frustrating when someone like you does it is because I expect DCs from random people with 1400 rating, but especially people from this site are held to a higher standard. This is the first time I've done anything competitive in pokemon, so when I actually come up against really good players I'm excited to see how I do and learn my teams weaknesses. I'm not even really THAT mad, you're probably the 22nd or 23rd DC I've come up against, I just expected more from people on this site.

XD classic. I won because i killed a vaporeon and died from my own Life orb because of my low health. My closest match yet haha
