League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

In terms of skill, CLG is still far and away the better team, they just make the worst decisions. It was fairly obvious that they were completely outplaying M5 in their second match, and then they hit late-game and did nothing. Even in their first match, CLG would take a kill every time m5 took one, and they were staying toe to toe, and then they decided that they were just gonna roam around and not farm for 2 minutes. It's literally like watching a group of trained monkeys play this game.

Also, first pick Udyr and allow the other team to get Janna: lose tournament.

I still can't believe they first picked Udyr twice.

Hotshot threw game 2 for them - didn't split push effectively and got caught too often, resulting in 4v5s in very crucial positions near Baron. CLG had much stronger buff control - smite+feast+consume is around a 2000 true damage nuke on any buff - but they never got a chance at a straight 5v5 teamfight until it was too late. Doublelift went full retard game 1, Hotshot did the same game 2.

I personally think that CLG.eu has the best chance at beating M5 right now - looking at Kings of Europe, Froggen's play is so strong and they're so cohesive as a team that I think they'd be able to do it. As it is though, CLG came the closest in IEM to defeating M5, but they just threw it away.

M5's teamwork and coordination is amazing though. I don't really like them as a team, but you can't deny that their cooperation is the best in the world right now. I think Urgot swaps in the fog of war into the Baron area won them at least four fights in this tournament.

M5 is definitely a super high-quality team don't get me wrong. In fact I love what they do in terms of using innovative champions and team comps, and they're teamwork is amazing.

That being said, they're not hands down the best team, they're just the team to beat, and both CLG and CLG.eu have the potential to beat them.

Also, the split push failure was on all of CLG. Hotshot would be one on one at bot lane and the rest of CLG would look at the 4 v 4 at top and they'd leave instantly. As soon as they'd leave M5 converged on Hotshot, and CLG had already b'd while watching M5 take the Hotshot bait. If CLG just committed to actually pushing with their split push it may have worked.

Sooo, how would things work out if Fidds' drain targeted a second nearby enemy and/or anyone crossing the path of the leash? It'd definitely speed up his clear time and make him slightly harder to peel, is that a good direction for him?

the issue i think with fiddle is that you cant make his clear time better without making him stupid strong, because if he CAN get a decent jungle clear even now he becomes a monster, imagine making that easier. plus it means his already strong skills have extra damage or cc abilites tagged on to them with the purpose of clearing jungle faster but its not like you can do anything except "increased damage to minions" without making his skills more effective vs heroes. his crows used to bounce 10 times FFS

That wouldn't even do anything on Fiddlesticks. Drain already kills single targets very quickly, the problem is he gets to durdle around for another eight seconds waiting for it to come off cooldown so he can kill the next creep. It makes him really, really bad at killing wraiths and wolves (and of course terrible in lane). Maybe you don't put it on Drain but if you force him to level Dark Wind for it, he'll just kill the buffs slow as dirt instead.

I don't like it when the champs I play go free, for two reasons.

1.) People will take my champion before I can (especially a problem if I'm only playing to try a new build, I only feel like playing a specific champ, etc.)
2.) If I do pick my champ, I feel like people are judging me like I'm just a "free-week _____"

idk

you could always not care. I'm always trying free week stuff and really, how bad is 'free week X noob' of an insult?
And you're right it can get annoying when others picking the champs before you (fiora week..)

I'm personally just waiting for Xerath free week. That secret op of a champ is monstrous when played correctly

EDIT: Sweet, he is free~

More tales from my ranked matches:

Match 5: Maokai (Jungle)

No communication from anyone in champ select and the guy bans out skarner after I call jungle. So there goes my main. Lee Sin is also taken on the other team, and they have Karthus and Galio locked in so I'm thinking Maokai can help against that AoE. We actually have this game won, 2 inhibitors down and a baron with a couple of minutes left, and then retard takes over and half of them start roaming for random map objectives, getting caught, dying, getting caught, dying. I spend half an hour begging them to group up and push, but all they want to do is run around trying to kill and getting killed. They finally decide that we ABSOLUTELY MUST BARON AT ALL COSTS EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW IT IS WARDED AND ALL 5 OF THE ENEMY ARE STILL ALIVE WITH FULL HEALTH. They force the baron fight and we lose it twice, despite me once again begging them not to. On the second ace, the enemy finally has the common sense to just push to our nexus. Longest hour of my LoL career yet.

Defeat: 10-6-15

Match 6: Shyvana (Top)

So this match was pretty close all the way through and then I don't know what the fuck happened. I jump on Ziggs and Ashe who were out of position and eat their heads because I am a mighty dragon. We ace them soon after, push down to their inner turrets and pick up a baron safely. I go back to buy with the 3k gold I'm sitting on, everybody backs off while we're buying. Then out of nowhere I see ezreal die, and then blitzcrank die a few seconds later. They push right down to our nexus and then kill me, maokai and ryze, while our baron is still up, under both our nexus towers. Obviously we lose. As I said, I have no idea how the fuck that happened.

Defeat: 12-8-7

Match 7: Shyvana (Jungle)

Queuing with my irl friend who is pretty terrible but I didn't really care too much about win/loss after the last 2 matches. He can only jungle with warwick or play some very specific mid champs. I lock in shyvana planning to solo top but then the other team takes warwick so my buddy goes into panic mode. I tell him to play support and I'll jungle, so that's what we do. He's the worst support ever, spends half of the match in base going "what should I buy, Dale?". Luckily, it's a very easy match as I give our Brand in mid every single blue, he goes 8-1, I go 7-1 and we pretty much carry the entire game by ourselves. Their warwick was shit.

Victory: 7-1-5

Match 8: Skarner (Jungle)

Still queuing with my irl friend, I finally get to play Skarner, who is, in my opinion, the best jungler in the game. The gangplank in chat is helpful and we sort out our team comp. Gangplank goes top, I'm jungling, Annie is mid, just bottom left to decide. I lock in skarner, second pick who is yet to speak... autolocks Master Yi with Heal and Ignite. Hurray! Gangplank still takes top lane and luckily Yi was going bottom anyway along with... autolock Teemo!
We get into the game and the Master Yi decides that he is going to take my Wraiths and my mini golems while I'm getting Blue, leaving me with nothing to do for about 30 seconds. I didn't really feel like invading against Lee Sin who probably started wraiths anyway. Despite this, the game gets going and through some co-ordinated ganks with Annie we start wrecking shop. I've pretty much got full control of every lane bar top (no point ganking Garen anyway when the other 2 lanes are free kills), I get a couple of double kills on bottom lane and surprisingly the Yi/teemo combo doesn't do badly at all, although this is probably down to their 0-5 Vayne being fucking terrible and their Alistair spending more time typing in chat than he did actually supporting. At about 20 minutes I'm 7-0, Annie is 3-0, and the game is pretty much over. My friend then types "brb" and recalls... ok. We carry on just fine without him anyway and 10 minutes later we get the surrender vote. Annie has still not returned and has gone offline on Skype. Hopefully he's not dead or anything. I guess I'll text him...

Victory: 9-1-11

EDIT:

Match 9: Nasus (Top)

Defeat: 3-3-3

How do you die 17 times?

How?

You would think it wouldn't be possible without Revive because of the spawn timer.

But no.

My teams Soraka died 17 times.

I just started playing this game about a week ago, any advice for noobs would be much appreciated!

Its a little tricky to get the flow of the game at first. You are not rambo in the beginning laning, it is generally a bad idea to rush in without support or without some advantage (like more health than enemy). Also around 10-15 mins into game, watch for ganks. If you overextend yourself by pushing up to enemy turret by yourself or with only one ally, have a means of escape or you almost surely will get ganked. Summoner spells are good means of escape and turning the tide of the game, save them for the right moment.

While Lulu’s fairy companion Pix can support a friend, he can also harass an enemy by flying around them and acting as a major hindrance.
