To tell you the truth, I'm not really looking forward to ender dragons.... Invulnerability? The only way to kill it is through enchanted weapons? Enchanted weapons???? Really guys? I think this whole potion madness seems stupid. Heck, I don't even know what potions do.

Well they will only be in the End dimension so no worries just don't go there, I really don't see any reason to go now too since it's suicidal.

Why hate on potions if you don't even know about them?

I like the current simplicity of Minecraft. It is a sandbox game that is easy to understand and has a fair number of simple features. It is fun for users to make complicated things out of them. :) Sometimes, I feel games are ruined by trying to come up with over-complicated features for users. The original appeal of the game gets lost in features.

I don't know if these new updates will do that to the game. I would agree that enchanted weapons, potions, and invulnerable monsters do seem like anomalies to the standard feel of Minecraft. It seems like more of an RPG thing to me. I think it is important to keep an open mind, though, and try to be positive. Who knows, they may be tons of fun. :)

The problem with that is most people who start off will have no idea how to craft these ender eyes and probably will not know how to get to a stronghold.

These things are harder to craft for the express purpose of people who want to adventure and play at a higher level in the game. Really you can play as deep as you want to.

Huh I just met someone on the server who's not whitelisted because he was playing before there was one...does that sound right? I thought that all of us playing were like from Smogon, or is that assumption wrong?

It was always very possible to make the sun and moon round, it just seemed like the fitting aesthetic choice that they were square.

asdf doesn't actually check these forums right, right? Cause that is absurdly grey and making it 10 stories high and covering the ground completely only makes that worse. Even the uniformity and symmetrical nature of the buildings only draws out the grey.

Asdf does check on the forums, he says he can change the materials around to make it less grey. It's certainly a really good first attempt, can't wait to see his finished product.

Roller coaster is sorta finished, you can ride it around in one big loop. Not totally enemy proof yet though so ride at your own risk. Also heads up guys, please don't fill my lava lakes with water so you can mine obsidian, the lava lakes were gonna be a part of the track... :X

Wow. You could build an entire house inside one of the buildings of the spawn and nobody would notice.....

I just think that potions are overcomplicating things a bit. As someone said above me, this is a sandbox game, not a RPG game. Potions and fighting bosses sound RPG'ish to me.

Notch envisioned Minecraft as an RPG.

Eh, minecraft seems like more of a sandbox game than an RPG game to me. We have enough RPGs in this world. Why not do something different?

But it doesn't really matter because I probably won't be using potions or going to the end at all. Unless potions can heal you or bring hunger back to full that is. It also depends on if they are easy to make. If it takes 5 sulfur from creepers and a whole ton of rare items, then it seems kind of pointless to make them.

What is the purpose of potions anyway? I am guessing they heal or do status things or something like that.

Oh ya, I don't play creative because I like playing with my friends (YOU GUYS :D).

To be fair, making an RPG is a lot harder than just a simple sandbox for building...besides it's not like a game can't be both; SWG was a long running example of a sandbox MMORPG, even after they tried hashing it into a WoW clone of sorts.

I use Minecraft as a sandbox, too. Ultimately, games are fun because people make them fun, not because of all their decked out features.

Lol, well, if this is an RPG game, then we need to have a base of operations. That would be pretty cool actually. We could make a giant guild that's 2 stories high. The 1st story could be where we chill and chat with each other. The second story could be our own decked out rooms.
