This is upsetting...i wanted to play minecraft...well skyrim it is then..:(
Hey, you guys want to have a smogcraft tf2 session or something? It would be a good way to pass the time.

Anyways, I will be happy to torch the place (your way, not my way), and I can help with reshaping the mountain. I'm guessing the face of the mountain that is at spawn should be slanted? But I thought that we were getting rid of the mountain. Unless you mean reshape it and then destroy it......
So yeah, delegate the torching, mountain reshaping, and maybe a little bit of exploring the area to me.
Also, what are the ways to become champion?

@asdfy: Um, don't know when you were last on, but whenever I joined the server, there was a message saying don't make a house on that mountain. Luckily, I've made an awesome looking castle on the hill NEXT to it. There are a couple of mountains in the back that I think you can live on.

My items. A creeper blew me up at night. Then zombies attacked me. And my items are all in a pile. It's day and just as im about to get my items. Connection is lost!
Ugh, I'm mad. I had so many stacks of cobble, and a bunch of coal. Darn it all. I had pretty much everything you need for exploring and then I get DC'ed. So far, I've been blown up 4 times by a creeper in less than 1 day. What setting is the game on anyway? Mobs have been flooding the spawn point left and right.

can we please vote on some sort of warp system? this should have been done before we started work on spawn but whatever. if you want people to help flatten shit and gather resources, at least give us a way to easily get back to spawn without fighting off hoards of mobs in the middle of the night. this isn't like old smogcraft where everything close by was mostly lit up and we had a train system in place.

Regarding warps: Layell and I are a proponent of only having /spawn, forks likes no warps at all, and I forget about Ben.
The plan was to have a vote, but if we did it before the server was up, we felt like people would just vote "/spawn and /home" because people would go with what they are used to. The idea was if people see at least how no spawns works, they can judge better what they want.
Something like that anyway. Expect a poll soon!

Seriously though, it was set on easy when I asked yesterday, unless they upped the difficulty a notch later, as you can't die from hunger. Probably just bad luck, I had to kill off a few zombies around my little island pyramid as well near the desert.
And for what it's worth, I don't get why some people are against a /warp spawn, I mean it literally adds nothing but annoyance if you're out gathering otherwise and get blown up before you make it back, wasting work and resources. Especially if you consider the main desert biome is on the other end of the map. And of course when the map opens up more, then /home would be nice to have if you wanna live on the other end of the map, but don't like making a daylong walk back to spawn. And if you're against it, it's not like you have to use it if you so choose...
Also may as well ask...what button is screenshot, and where are those files saved? lol

In version 1 you could dig a hole at night, in full release you can dig a hole at night. A few super anal players who have fantasies about Minecraft being an action game and not a creativity game want to make it more boring for everyone else.

the whole area around the spawn wants to be leveled/elevated to 5 blocks above sea level, so collecting dirt and/or using it to fill in the surrounding areas would be very much appreciated.
and the poll on warps will be posted within the next couple hours! i'd like to get this settled just as quickly as the rest of you.
Seriously, if you don't like /warp, don't use it. We need it. bad.
Interrupting travel for 10 minutes to sit in a dirt hole is boring. You cannot fucking deny this. Commercial breaks don't last that long. No warp means more downtime where you aren't playing.
i propose you continue this discussion in the super important warp command discussion/voting thread which everyone should vote in right away or fairly soon at least!
Glad to see we are in agreement, it sure is a bad idea to run through the night carrying supplies you just spent hours collecting. Of course players are going to dig holes, a vanilla minecraft staple, to get around this, but then why not just have warps? Turning up the brightness? Surely us vanilla minecraft purists would never stoop to such dastardly metagaming.
vonFiedler, do you also think cheating is just a way to make stuff more fun and thus should be practiced at will?
