Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Is there a way to control which pokemon is gonna appear after using Sweet Scent/Rods? I've been trying to catch an Adamant Dratini but stupid Gyarados keeps showing up everytime I hit the delay.

You need to use Encounter Slots
EDIT: You need to use a Frame with an Encounter Slot of 1,3, or 4, because those are Dratini/Dragonair's Encounter Slots. To find Encounter Slots Right Click on your Frame and go down to "Calculate Encounter Slots" and i list should Pop up, but when Fishing make sure it says "Landed a Pokemon"

I'm having trouble with the ID finder, every time I try to use the Shiny PID function I keep getting a message that says "Could not find any recognizable digits". Then the program proceeds to close or just does nothing at all. I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem or knows a solution for it or why this happens.

Thanks for any help

On my SoulSilver game i've been trying to abuse for a Flawless Mew. I used rare candies to check what seed I had hit and it was the correct one. However, the frame my spread was on was 16 but I had gotten 25 instead. I had been using the NPC to advance the frame but I can never get them to advance it by the right amount of Frames.

Is it: 1 step / 1 step + turn = 2 advances
or
1 step = 1 advance | 1 step + turn = 2 advances

Or is it completely different? :/

Most likely, your target PID is getting truncated when you paste in into the "Desired PID (Hex)" window. I've found that I often lose the last digit when I paste into that spot. Make sure that you have 8 digits in that window, as well as a year, minimum delay, and maximum delay; before clicking "Find Compatible Seeds". If your desired PID has fewer than 8 digits, put a zero at the front of the number. Otherwise, you'll make ID Finder cranky.

1) I thought I had read that talking to your Pokémon didn't advance the RNg, but turning did. I guess I got it wrong.

2) How do you tune the radio? do you just drag the tuner and release it anywhere or do you have to keep holding it while tuning? I'm still really new to HGSS RNG abusing, so you'll have to forgive my n00bness.
1) Both do, but in very different ways. In my experience RNGing a Timid 30/31/30/31/31/31 Raikou, I found that the amount of frame advancements for turning (but not to or from you poke, it's different) was strangely inconsistent. For example, 72 turns advenced my frame by 118, but 73 advanced it by 120. Neither numbers are divisible by anything "normal", plus if you hit a different seed, 72 turns will advance your frame by something different?! However, it is consistent when turning when you have hit your same seed, which was a huge relief!
About the talking... If you go to the RNG Research thread, there's a little guide about it there toward the end.
2) About the radio...I didn't try that much, but apparently, the advancements are based upon what time of day you happen to be in. Certain times of day do not advance at all, but others are consistent. If you do a search in this thread for the word "detune" you'll find a little guide about it.

Firstly, just in my experience, at least some of the things that advance frames seem to be tied to what seed you hit in HG/SS (Sweet Scenting, turning in place, etc...), so the NPC's movements may be as well, it may just be that you cannot hit that particular frame with the movements of the NPCs on that particular seed...

Experiment with it though. You might be able to hit it anyway. :)

Please could someone give me the method j frame for this seed 3A140299 with this spread 30/30/30/8/30/30 and give me the encounter slots and whether it's a synchronizer, it's a different one than before, thanks

Er, maybe it's just me using an outdated RNGreporter, but I'm getting no spread that follows that seed. Can anyone else confirm?

Hi!

I have 2 questions:

1) The guide says (Frame advancement):
"Each time you turn around (reverse direction) the RNG is advanced by 1 seed. The RNG is advanced even if there is a repel in use."

-> I didn´t really understand this. Does it mean I can hit the Down-Button on my DS and then the Up-button for the same advancemt as simply walking straight-forward?

2)Mingots part of "RNG support" says: "On any method J frame right click and select "Calculate Encounter Slots". "

-> but if I right click a method j frame, the are only these 3 options:

"Copy seeds to clipboard"
"Generate times"
"Putput results to CSV"

-> So where do I find the option mentioned above?

Hello

1. What it means is that each time you turn, for example by lightly tapping the d-pad, but do not walk, you advance the frame by 1. When you walk, one tile, you advance the frame by 1 and when you turn and walk, for example you are facing down and you turn upwards and walk then you advance the frame, but by two. The repel has no effect on frame advancement.

2. You copy the seed from the time finder, go to RNG Reporters main menu, input the seed into the seed field, method, synch nature(if applicable), nature and IVs of the frame you found in the time finder and then click generate. Then when you right click the expanded otions will be available, including "Calculate Encounter Slots"

Thanks, I´ve now found it. So now, I can see this message:

Sweet Cent (Grass/Cave) 1
Sweet Cent (water) 1
Fishing (Old Rod) 1
Fishing (Super(good rods) 1

So does the "1" mean "Slot 1" Pokemon in all the areas?

And below, I can read:

Fishing Result (Old Rod) Landed a Pokemon
Fishing Result (Super Rod) Landed a Pokemon
Fishing Result (Good rod) Landed a Pokemon

What does this mean?

Yes, according to this:

http://users.smogon.com/mingot/rngreporter/encounterplat.htm

You should get the pokemon in slot one. As for the fishing result, I've never used it but it presumably would be the result you would get if you fished on that frame.

Thanks, MTSilverchampion!

I have now another question:

Slot 6: 80-84 5% (Trophy Garden, Current)
Slot 7: 85-89 5% (Trophy Garden, Previous)

I have now found a slot 6 spread. So when I rng abuse in the trophy garden, will the daily trophy garden Pokemon appear of what is the difference between "Current" and "previous"? Does it mean I can either use slot 6 or slot 7 to get the trophy garden pokemon?

Yes!
Egg
Charmander
Modest
31/31/31/31/31/31
Ancient Power

I can only hypothesize, but I believe that Pokemon found previously in the Trophy Garden stay for two days. The Current pokemon, the one Backlot says appears on the day you are on will appear on slot 6 and the previous day's rare pokemon will appear slot 7. The only way to know is to talk to backlot. For example I first found Azurill when talking to him. Then a few days later I talked to him and found Both Ditto and Azurill. Ditto would be 6 and Azurill would be 7. So when RNG'ing ensure the pokemon you want will appear in the slot that you want.

where i find a guide for hgss rng??
D=

The closest thing to a guide can be found here, but pretty much you just have to figure it out for yourself for the most part at this point. Some important things are explained there, like using the radio to advance frames and whatnot, but a lot of it is just trial and error.

Anyone know offhand if the enigma crystal lati is Method 1 or K?

EDIT: Danku. That should make my life a lot easier. I wasn't sure because it's not like you walk up and interact with it.

I guess I should have asked this the first time, but what frame does it start on? Or has that not been determined yet?

So, I'm doing some abuse on my Diamond cartridge, and I have a question. My normal time and delay is 15/615-619 (615 being the lowest I've hit consistently). I have a spread for Uxie that is at 15/611. Is there any way that I'm going to be able to hit this delay, or is there a sort of trick i can do to allow me to hit this lower delay? My year is already lowered down to 2000, so I can't change that to get a higher target delay.

Don't tell me to mash 'A' harder, 615 is truly the lowest delay I've been able to hit.

EDIT: will there ever be RNG reporter for Mac users?

When using PokéRNG put the Max Delay higher, it'll probably find a similar spread but with a higher delay so you can use emloop to hit it, oh and it also lowers your frame
