gravity is a poor strategy, it is not very powerful and only a few pokemon can learn it and none of these pokemon is that great.
 
The main issue with gravity is the fact that your teammate will be hit by EQ as well. Protecting with the one and EQing with the other will get your EQer focus fired, and not protecting will have the teammate taking a decent chunk of damage.
 
I used gravity and rain and anti-TR. It actually worked really well, just had problems with goodstuffs. And guess what were the only teams I fought at London? ._.
Next year I'm doing a dualmode goodstuffs and trick room team. It'll rock so hard. Provided London gets the same turnout next year, I could well win this, seeing as I only lost (and to the winner of London as well) due to a combination of bad team matchup and luck, which I could've recovered from without the crits and everything. I had a match against McSpam (semifinalist) and won pretty handily too. And I've done very well Vs. Shoe (second place), seeing as I can't recall ever losing to his team. Oh well: I'll do better next year.
 
Well it looks like I'm going to the St. Louis :D and I am staying at the hotel where all the 1st and 2nd place winners are staying :D I can't wait.
 
Unfortunately, it looks like I will be unable to attend St. Louis, unless a miracle occurs and ipl is permitted to take me as his guest and I can get time off of work. Despite not being there in person, I will be there in spirit and wish all of the Smogon representatives, those who have a spot secured and those who do not, good luck. I hope you guys have a great time and I look forward to reading some awesome warstories afterwards.

EDIT: Also expect my extensive warstory from Nashville to be up later tonight.
 
Well, I wasn't able to attend nashville, my car's battery pooped out on me in the last minute. However, I have my hotel reservations for St.Louis so lets do this!
Can't wait to meet and greet a bunch of smogoners.

I'll be staying at a fancy bed and breakfast... That is, I'll sleep in and have breakfast in my own bed...AT MY HOUSE THAT MORNING!!! BWAH HAH HAH!!!!

I did that for SF. Rolled out of bed 5 minutes before I got there. Now they're giving me a free plane ride and a free room. I think that's an even sweeter deal.

Hey, I have a question guys. I sent in an E-mail and such, and finally got things straightened out with my account and put in my Travel Award. I just recently got my Ticket Number, but I do not know how to track it, as that is THE ONLY information I got. I've never flown before, so this is.. difficult.

Thanks if somebody can lend a hand!
 
It seems I'll be able to play tomorrow, as I have been dismissed from the Paris VGC staff :P

Too bad, I wanted to access the PC used for registrations in order to remove the noobs with things like torterra lv 41 from the random drawing, I didn't care about the money :D

Well, at least I tried.

Edit : if I get randomly selected obviously, bad memories from London -_-'

Aww..that sucks. Would've been nice to weed out the noobs from the competition. Oh well either way good luck tomorrow!

If they do it the same way as they do it in the US, they don't collect any data about your team before you are selected -- they briefly check the team sheet to make sure you don't have any banned Pokemon, but then they hand it back to you.
 
Its pretty cool how the VGC tournament is bringing almost everyone on smogon together. Of course I`m only saying this cuz I haven`t seen 80% of these people on smogon ever...
 
thanks for the youtube links as both my son and I can be seen in video #1 & video #2 as we were about 5-10 persons away. In video #1 I can be seen at 14 seconds, and In video #2 a clearer shot of us can be seen at around 16-21 seconds and with TTS as well wearing the dark smogon shirt.

It certainly sucked that we could not get in, and hopefully the regionals will be fairer in the future.
 
Picollo got haxed out of the tournament, Honchcrow made it to sweet sixteen. I'm waiting for their next phone call.

Only around 90 participants in Paris, as it seems btw
