power rankings take 2. if you remember my old ones from week 4 you may remember:
9. 49ers - Not much to say, only loss is to 2nd ranked team, willis is a good player. Division should be a lock.
5. Jets - Only lost is to 1st ranked team, defeated 7th ranked Patriots. Rex Ryan and the defense are doing great things, and the offense at least has some threats.
12. Bears
how the mighty have fallen. so heres take 2 with explanations and intro:
these are power rankings, not standings. if a team is good enough, then they are higher on the list. now if your team has more wins, it obviously means you are better than some other teams but this isn't always the case. some teams collapse, others rise, and some look fine, even while losing.
1.) Saints - Anyone you felt they were frauds before last night has been proven wrong in my opinion. Drew Brees became the first player to ever put up 5 touchdowns on a BB coached Patriots team, and I am certain he will be the only to do so. Don't also forget the Saints had some injuries such as Reggie Bush.
2.) Colts - I'll say right now, I think the Colts have a better shot of going 16-0 than the Saints. That also being said, I would rather play against the Colts than the Saints right now, just based on explosiveness which is why the Saints are 1 in my book. The colts do have their own explosiveness and 11-0 is an amazing feat, not to mention they have the experience. But the chance to make a legit statement is in the Titans game this week. Just like the Saints, I think they need to win big.
3.) Vikings - Favre is almost the MVP of this season (sorry but Brees and Manning are just more valuable). The vikings don't even look like they try.
4.) Patriots - I put the Pats at number 4, despite the record. They have the experience, coaching and QB. And they still look like a great team, despite last nights loss. Don't let it fool you, the Pats are beatable. But there is almost no tougher place to play during playoff season than NE. I also feel NE still has a better shot at the HF advantage than Cinci, who I think are going to lose twice more, and perhaps the Chargers, as I can't help but worry about Norv Turner coaching your team.
5.) Chargers - 6 game winning streak, LT has hit a stride, and Rivers is going all Phillip Rivers. It is a toss-up of who wins the 2 seed for the AFC and even though I pick the Patriots, the Chargers have a shot.
6.) Bengals - Despite the fact that they would win the tiebreaker for the 2 seed if all teams finish with the same record, I feel Cinci will lose twice more, especially after hitting a bit of a decline (losing to Oakland and not dominating the Browns).
7.) Titans - Wait a second? The Titans? A team that started 0-6? Well heres the real deal, They are 5-0 since then, with 9 straight victories with Vince Young as a starter, and he has swagger. Not to mention the best running back in Football right now is on this team. And the defense is getting healthy and better. Thank god for those 6 losses because I don't know if there is any team as confident or as hot as the Titans right now.
8.) Broncos - After 4 straight losses, they kept their composure by smashing NYG. I think this team, with 2 more games against the Chiefs with 1 against Oakland, should be in a good situation to go 10-6, and maybe even 11-5.
9.) Cowboys - Tis the season... Despite their Christmas woes, I feel they will have a decent performance. Their division is such a mess that I feel it is a lock, and I feel that just maybe, they will be the team to defeat the Saints. Maybe...
10.) Packers - Penalties and Sacks Allowed kill a team. But the Packers have stayed strong. A lot will be revealed against the Ravens, but I can't help but wonder if Aaron Rodgers name will be tossed up in the MVP debate.
11.) Ravens
12.) Steelers
13.) Cardinals
14.) Eagles
15.) Giants
16.) Falcons
17.) Texans
18.) Dolphins
19.) Jets
20.) 49ers
21.) Jaguars
22.) Bills
23.) Panthers
24.) Bears
25.) Seahawks
26.) Redskins
27.) Chiefs
28.) Raiders
29.) Rams
30.) Buccaneers
31.) Lions
32.) Browns

Super Bowl:
Vikings vs Colts - 34-20
Steelers have dropped 3 straight and are very questionable to me. But if the Ravens don't go to playoffs, the Steelers will (taking their place).
The Titans are just a bit too far behind, they are unfortunately a 9-7 team at the end of the year.
Despite the fact that I have the Vikes ranked 3rd in my Power Rankings, I believe (despite their past failures), they are the team I would bet on for the Super Bowl; As long as Favre stays healthy.
MVP: Peyton Manning.
Take away Brees from the Saints, or Favre from the Vikings. Do they do as good as they are now? Probably not. But that doesn't matter, they still are good teams. The Vikings last year showed they could be playoff bound without Favre.
But take away Manning. No shot that the Colts perform as good as they currently do. In fact, I would go as far to say they would likely have a losing record, possibly 4-7 or 5-6. That is how much Manning means to this team (look at all the close games they have had. Manning has held them together through them all).
