I think it is because they are on the pokedex, I went to that and the color looks different from when it's in amie or battling.

Nice back sprite, Bynine! My only qualm is that its outer shell with spikes seems to be squished together, when there should be some space between them. If you take a look at its back shots in XY, you'll note that they are further apart from each other.

Just posting here to say that I have shiny sprites for Trevenant/a shiny back sprite for Phantump just about done, and that I will edit them in when I finish, but I just wanted to post here because of how long its been since I had said they were coming soon. Also, I might try to work on shiny animated Trevenant/shiny Goomy after this if no one minds.
 
That wingflap is way more complex than most flying sprites but whatever, it's gorgeous. Do the back and we'll ship it Harrie.

Has anyone found this thing's shiny colors? All my Googling has proved fruitless.

why, yes

correct me if I'm wrong but, the shiny megas seem to share palettes with that of the regular form when shiny

Actually, according to the video in this post, shiny Mega-Houndoom has a blue and red color scheme, while shiny Houndoom has a blue and gold color scheme, if I remember correctly.
 
Hey, peeps! I was surprised with the amount of work that has been done so far, so I thought I'd make an account so I could say a few things.

Firstly, I know this might have been mentioned in those 34 pages of comments so far, but if you're looking to fill up a few holes in your dex you could always ask permission from a few folks over at dA. Us sprite artists are usually flattered to hear their things are being used, especially if it's for something as high-profile as Pokemon Showdown! ^.^ The chap who pixelled these little wonders seems to be quite active: http://www.deviantart.com/art/Pokemon-X-and-Y-Sprite-Dex-364127128

Secondly, I might be able to afford you some assistance with your animations at a later date when I have a bit more free time. I won't be too thrilled to be making any back animations, but if you'd like animations for the more popular pokes I'd definitely sprite some up for you. It puts things down in layman's terms, so I think it'd help those around here who REALLY wants to make an animation, but don't know where to start. It also uses a program called ASEprite which has nice support for transparency, animation and indexed palettes. I'd suggest adding http://aseprite.org/ and the tutorial to the main post if it seems OK to you.

Not saying that you shouldn't ask, but from what I've seen, Zerudez hasn't shown any indication of wanting his sprites to be used in Showdown. There may be other spriters willing to share sprites, though.

Also I really want to help out with this project but I have very little free time right now. I can't animate at all but I can do fronts/backs. I'd like to fix up some of the current sprites when I can. My dA is fuzzball288.
 
At this point in the project people who provide fronts and no backs just aren't as helpful to me.

Also for the most part I've seen every DA artist that has made XY sprites.

OK then. Just wanted to check if you guys had looked into existing sprites. It really would be a shame to be spriting something that's already done. Hmmm...And I really like the Facebook banner! The artists who made those should be very proud! And have you guys looked into getting your main logo vectorized like the nice new forums logo? Seems a bit blurry to me.
 
I've been spriting since Gen III but haven't done it consistently since, so I'm a bit outdated. I don't see anything wrong with this QC except that Dedenne's head is looking a bit flat now. But oh well. I like it. C:

Ah yeah, if I could have my way I'd prefer to A-A the outline

Mm, I opened up the sprite in PS and it looked a lot lighter - I guess it's just the contrast with the forum's white bg making it look way darker than the official art. Could also just be a gamma issue I guess

I don't always send the updates to PS immediately just saying.

Sometimes I wait a bit for a good number of entries. My last update was sunday for example.

Also fixed some colour errors on Mega Lucario's static sprite, and that stupid transparency error that was so annoying.

Since Mega Ampharos's QC still isn't done, I may give Sylveon a try. Those ribbons will definitely be annoying, but far from impossible.

EDIT: princessofmusic, I'll wait for your QC before starting. I look forward to seeing it.
