Question: Why aren't we allowed to post images in our signatures without badges? It's possible to limit the signature sizes to prevent ridiculous stretch and spam, so I was just curious.

You've got it. Badgeholders are more likely to use their signatures responsibly while others may choose to clutter up half a page with animated sigs and shit, it's an eyesore and may cause the page load very slowly. If you frequent any other forum you'd know what I'm talking about.

But like I said, I used to frequent another forum where they could limit the number of images along with image size in the sigs. They applied like a 3-image limit and some arbitrary size restriction like within 100 x 400 pixels or something.

It's possible to minimize clutter while still allowing the luxury of those who really want to spice up their posts. x)

(not to mention there are some badgeholders that jokingly use absurdly distracting images, but that's mostly in firebot)

Oh well. :<

RNG Help PLEASE!

Hey guys, hopefully this is the right place to put this question.

Anyways, I've just started to learn how to RNG in HG/SS. I have caught a couple shiny stationary legends, and now I've moved on to getting shiny eggs.

I have watched the youtube tutorials on how to do this, but I am a little confused. I am currently trying to hatch a shiny adamant dratini, which has a frame of 8. So far, I have been successfully able to hatch a shiny growlithe which had a frame of 1.

To advance the frame, I rejected 7 eggs, then saved right in front of the 8th, picked up the egg and hatched it, and it did NOT come out shiny. This has happened a couple times now. What did I do wrong? Any help would be tremendously appreciated!

^from what I have read, I don't believe rejecting eggs is a decent way of advancing your frame(because of the time it takes, the wandering NPCs and stuff) as the desired egg should be acquired ASAP once u enter the game... maybe you should try the radio or calling Proffessor Elm for frame advancement. I'm not very good at RNG yet so I believe some confirmation would be needed...

Are Serebii people really considered noobs? Why are they classified as such?

Imo the only reason why they would be noobs is that the competitive informations/training/ guides aren't as complete as it is in here. Also, it is much easier to organize random trades and battles. So even if this may help preventing loss of time finding people to train with, the quality of the training can't be as good I guess. So "Serebii noobs" tend to have less good pokes, less experience, and less comprehension of the metagame. They also tend to have more hacked pokes, but that's out of the question X)

Hey, I have recently read on this forum's DPPt research thread that multiple effects could occur at the same time (i.e. sandstorm and trick room) but I never heard about 2 weathers being a present effect at the same time... is there a thread/guide/article with more information about it? thanks :)

I hope that this goes here but I have been wondering for awhile now what usage percentage a pokemon must have to be moved up to OU and UU respectively.

I've been looking for this for awhile now to no avail. If someone could help me out that would be great.

Thanks.

I have two questions.
1) Are grass types immune to sleep powder?

2) Does a pokemon already regular poisoned by Toxic Spikes become badly poisoned after i lay down another layer?

To be OU, something must have been used in an average of least 1 in every 20 matches, over a period of four months, with the more recent months being more heavily weighted. Not sure how much each month is weighted, but that's the idea.

1.) No, not unless they have an ability like Insomnia or Vital Spirit.

2.) No, it will remain regular poisoned.

@ Thats PM: They can only be at the same time if the so called 'acid rain is in effect, which is when someone KOs a foe who is switching out with STAB pursuit during a weather condition (Yeah, I know, complicated, but if it weren't, GF would have fixed it.) Look on the research thread on Stark mountain, I think they have it.

@ Omnipresent: I can't understand your shorthand. Can you space them out a bit more?

Parent A or B is determined by the order you place them in the daycare. If it's the first Pokemon placed in the daycare, it's parent A. If it's the second, it's parent B.

If it doesnt have lightningrod, it will have solid rock, unless you transfer it from gen 3, at which point check the ability box. If it says 1 you will have solid rock

Stat Jump Points

Hi,

The question is concerning stat jump points... I've known about them for ages but tbh never cared too much as they make little difference to anything, but I figure I may aswell find out how they work.

I read somewhere that these are the points 16/56/96/136/176/216 and the base stat should be divisible by 5. However, when pumping the EVs into either the smogon damage calc or the shoddy team builder, these jump points never seem to work for me APART from when I use a +nature appropriate to the stat I'm using a jump point for. I can't find anywhere that expands on the jump points.

I'll give an example:
Suicunes base speed and base special attack are both divisible by 5 and should therefore be able to attain jump points. If I put 212 Evs into speed (Timid) Suicune gets a speed stat of 284, adding another 4 Evs cause Suicune's speed stat to JUMP to 286. Success

If you change the nature to Modest, it does NOT jump with the same amount of Evs. So does +nature affect these jump points working? If so, how can jump points be attained with a neutral nature.

EDIT: Answered brilliantly by SM,ty.

I'm probably not going to get a useful answer but I might as well ask. Does anyone remember that Latias set that was like 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 Spe Timid, Roar / Recover / Calm Mind / Dragon Pulse?

What other pokemon can pull that shit off? Even if its with a different slow stat-up move or a different recovery move. And no, not RestTalkers.

Suicune is as close as it comes if Roar is a requirement and in terms of similar resistances you will not find better.

Suicune @ Leftovers
32 HP / 252 SpA / 224 Spe

Timid

OR

Suicune @ Leftovers
252 HP / 240 Def / 16Spe
Bold

Calm Mind
Surf
Roar
/ Substitute
Substitute
/ Ice Beam / HP [electric]

Depending on your team.

The EVs are basic, but are very changeable in my experience. I very much doubt you want as much speed as in the first set for example (for Jollydos) but you may want enough to outspeed Adamant Breloom to Substitute before a Spore, ya know? They really can be moulded to your specification.

This Suicune does not suffer from no recovery as much as one would think, as it is so bulky.

Concerning a Rain Dance team I'm building I will be using Jirachi as a lead. Is it a good idea to leave Stealth Rock to Bronzong and free slot for him?

I think the genders are random.

I'm not too familiar with the mechanics, but I think the IVs are all the same, with -5 to 31 each time, i.e. 31/31/31/31/31/31 , 26/26/26/26/26/26, 21/21/21/21/21/21, etc.

I would guess Palmer either has straight 31 or straight 21, but that's just a wild guess. I would just go with 31.

476 Modest Milotic @ Shell Bell
255 HP/ 255 SpA
Surf, Ice Beam, Attract, Hypnosis

469 Adamant Rhyperior @ Focus Band
255 Attack / 255 Defense
Rock Wrecker, Earthquake, Crunch, Roar

481 Adamant Dragonite @ Lum Berry
255 Attack / 255 SpD
Dragon Claw, Aerial Ace, Thunder Wave, Dragon Dance

"Jump points" are basically when you obtain an extra stat point from the nature that's boosted. This is because Pokemon rounds down. For example, if you had a Speed stat that was 339, and you used a Timid nature, then it would become 372.9. However, since Pokemon rounds down, then it would only become 372. Likewise, if you had a 340 Speed Stat, then with a Timid nature it would become 374, earning the "jump point" because it increased by 2 instead of 1.

In other words, you can only have jump points with the Stat that corresponds to the positive nature. You cannot have it with a neutral nature.

Okay, what the Hell just happened?

I bred a shiny Yanma in Platinum, then traded a copy of the egg over to SoulSilver to hatch. Now, I *thought* I remembered that if you trade a shiny egg to another trainer, the egg ends up non-shiny, but when it hatched, it was definitely a shiny Yanma.

Okay, fine, I've been wrong before, but the next time I look at the poke is after I've deposited it in the PC, at which point I notice that it's DEFINITELY not shiny any more! Did it lose its shininess some time after it hatched? If so, that's the weirdest thing EVER.
