Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Hey, I'm trying to RNG the Arceus event sinjoh dragons (dialga/palkia/giratina). Where can I save and then soft-reset? Can I save on the triangle right before I choose which pokemon I want? If possible, answer "you can save on the triangle" or "no, you have to save waaaaaaaaay before" and don't refer me to page 1 :(

You can save one step before the middle of the symbol
You know, the circle in the middle where you choose.
if you need proof look at my dialga and giratina :)

Save in front of the Triangle, and be sure that you have it on Method 1. If I'm not mistaken those 3 are having a monster frame of 1.

Say I want to forgo using the Elm calls to verify that I hit the correct seed in HGSS and just go by the locations of the roamers instead. Can I still abuse the RNG for wondercard Pokes and standing legendaries or do I have to have been to Kanto, beaten the E4, gotten Pokerus etc?
If your asking:
"Can I rng pokemon w/o using elm calls, pre-e4?"
Yes, you can rng pokemon and verify you hit your seed via roamer method, but you will have to advance you frame via radio or etc.

Ok, I want to RNG for a Chikorita. Since I don't have any pokemon, how do I advance the frames without any pokemon?
You will have to look for a seed that have that have iv on frame 1 on method 1. I think you can also advance the frame by using a npc

Calls to Juggler Irwin can be substituted for Elm early in the game as well. These act entirely the same. Each response lines up with a particular Elm response although I don't remember which is which right now, It wouldn't be hard to find out.

Question: for some reason my pikatimer won't run (windows is stating that i need to find a program to run the file)..is there a new, updated version of pikatimer, or something?

It used to run just fine on my computer. I have no clue why it isn't opening up. It's a .jar file though..

No error or anything eh?
All I can recommend is updating your Java or restarting your computer. I saw this happen somewhere else recently and there doesn't seem to be a reason for it. My timer is also written in Java, so I doubt it will work for you either.

Edit: Does the "Opens with" say Java Runtime Environment (or something like that)?

No it doesn't..I'll update my Java and get back to you on this. Hopefully this'll work. I still need to RNG for my shiny Raikou.

Edit:It worked! I just needed to update my Java. Thanks!

I'm trying to RNG abuse my ID/SID combo. Is there any sure-fire way to stop your delay from bouncing between odd and even? It's getting annoying. I could've had it twice by now if it hadn't bounced back and forth.

Yours is doing it too? I thought it was because I was doing it on a flash cart. I'm guessing there is no way. I couldn't find one.

i was an idiot and accidentally saved on a missframehit mesprit (diamond). I killed it and I know I have to beat the e4 again. My question is, i do everything before i battle cynthia right? And how many steps do I have to do, do I count steps to cynthia aswell and move accordingly?

question about roamers if anyone can help. When frame advancing a step before Lance, up to how many frames do i advance? example: my frame is 40 and im trying to rng Latios while the other 2 are running around.

I've got an interesting question that I haven't been able to find in the instructions...
When I DO hit my seed (I keep getting within one delay but never exactly on it) will I count the ten coin flips I do to verify in the frame advance, or start counting after that?

Ok, I have yet another question, but I'm quickly learning all the RNG methods, so this will probably be my last.

When you're RNGing regular wild Pokemon, how are you supposed to encounter them once you hit your frame? Do you just walk around until a Pokemon shows up, or do you use Sweet Scent? I saw something on the first page about Sweet Scent advancing the frames when you use it, but that part of the post confused me since I don't know how you're normally supposed to do it.

Firstly if you hit even delay you will ALWAYS keep hitting even Delay. To change your delay by 1 (even to odd or vice versa), either put a pokemon GBA game on the bottom of your DS or change the year by 1.

To answer your question, are you doing 4th gen Shiny egg in the time finder?
If you are you start counting the flips after the 10 flips you do to verify the seed.

You're supposed to sweet scent. Walking around doesn't work well at all since we can't easily control it.

First you need to hit your seed. When you finally hit it do the frame advance minus 2 since IIRC sweet scenting will advance the frame by 2. The pokemon that will appear depends on the encounter slot.

Right click on your desired frame and click on Calculate Encounter Slots

You will see a small window appear with your encounter slots.

Then just click the game you're using and it'll open up a page with all the encounters slots for every route/cave for that game.

Hmmm........a quick rng question ....there's a option for skipping frames in desemu. Can this be used to rng high frame number spreads ?? Also is there a frame check code for platinum and hgss ??

Oh skeptics the answer to your question is yes.
