I was waiting for someone to post the 16-0 prediction for their team.
It's called pessimism, and besides on paper, Patriots are far better offensively and strong during the late season push. Not to mention we have Alex Smith, whom even I wouldn't consider a good candidate to light up the Patriots' defense, as poor as it has looked (and this is coming from your typical Patriots hater).
Some Hero, I don't think you should ever call a 6th round draft pic, with 3 superbowls and 5 superbowl appearances overrated. Just sayin. And i'm not even a Brady fan.
I don't give a damn about the draft. My prediction has been Bills-Lions Super Bowl since the end of the season, and it still is.
Remember, the Patriots are only good because they play bad teams and i expect them to lose to every good team in their schedules...
That's true, but remember Joe Flacco actually looked better than Brady that game.
The thing I don't get is why people on forums everywhere and on TV and radio are complaining about schedules, when they are determined solely by your performance last year and your division. We learned months ago what teams were playing each other, why is it a story now? The top divisional teams play each other the following season, the lower-ranked teams all play each other the next season. It's how the NFL maintains an illusion of parity so they can say "look this 4-12 team is now 7-9! theyre getting better! see! everyone really has a chance! now buy some more tickets for your team!" (no offense ancien regime :P)
Correction: Joe Flacco technically had better paper stats than Brady that game, but he didn't look better. Flacco never takes any risks so he maintains serviceable stats on paper (much like Jason Campbell), but he never "looks" good as a passer. Brady only had worse stats because he was taking more risks like a true QB does. A QB that doesn't take risks is just a game manager.

Err did you watch the game or are you basing your post off either Ravens hate/making assumptions based on "the norm" (seeing as he's usually Captain Checkdown)? I am the most critical fan there is when it comes to Joe when he makes mistakes, I think his release can be too slow and his pocket awareness should be better. He was downright fucking amazing vs the Patriots! He took plenty of risks all game and played excellent and Brady played like absolute ass (part cause of our defense, part cause he just wasn't on). If our WR could hold a goddamned TD pass or our kicker could kick a 30 YD FG, everyone would be talking about how incredible Joe was on that final drive and mention him as a top 10 QB. Sheesh, watch games people!
I respect this pick so much but I really want Pats Eagles 2 as a more serious pick or Pats Giants 3 as a novelty pick
I get that you're playing the character of the overexcited Giants fan that thinks anyone with the blue helmet is god and everyone else is shit, but come on. The Patriots got better in the playoffs than they were in the regular season, especially on defense, after their joke of a second-half schedule. At least when other posters in this thread try to talk about teams they didn't watch during the season, they back their posts up with stats. You're just spewing shit everywhere and expecting it all to stick. The <3 Eli avatar + Giants parody character is getting old already. At least when I did this with the Bruins I wasn't posting ridiculous false garbage like this about other teams. Although I am curious what your character has to say about the Jets lol

Admittedly, I'm not the biggest Flacco fan but yeah Flacco definitely outperformed Brady in that game. IIRC, Brady even admitted that he sucked in that game in the post game celebration

I envy him, gives me hope as a fellow accountant lol. Guess number crunching does pay off somehow.
How much is it because the Patriots can't win against the Giants and how much is it because of whatever other reason you may have?
By the way, i live in Los Angeles.. so i have no beef with the Jets. My beef is with the Rams, Chargers, Raiders and since i started liking the Giants the Eagles and to a lesser extent the Cowboys.
So i have no thoughts on the Jets.
