5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

I had the same problem myself whilst doing Entralink RNG; I can think of a couple of possibilities:

- if you are starting the game from the main menu instead of soft-resetting, the game seems to start about one second later from when you press A

- if you still get one second later, adjust your timer back one second to compensate (and repeat until the game co-operates)

Accounting for both of these fixed it for me, but working with the Entralink is quite frustrating - at least you get guaranteed captures at no charge to compensate, I guess.

This is a great point~ C:
I noticed the same thing happening to me while I was calibrating but I put it off as a flashcart issue and didn't include it when typing up the guide. In hindsight, this is probably what happened to me as well. Theoretically it would only have affected the delay, but I'll edit the guide to reflect this, thanks. @_@

Am I correct to assume the following things about Raijin/Fujin expies:

1. MTIVRNG/PIDRNG for those two are set after they fly off.
2. Their PIDRNG frames will advance by 60 for every second you are in the rain/snow before you encounter them.
3. Their MTIVRNG frame/seed will not change within the rain/snow though and assuming you hit your seed correctly will give you your desired IV spread.

I'm think I'm missing something else about the Roamers but can't remember it.

Yeah, as long as you correctly hit your IV frame it's just a matter of getting lucky with the nature you want. You have it more or less right.

i was wondering on how to catch dittos in the great chasm since the pid is advanced when you turn in the grass and you can't sweet scent, i already caught 2 near flawless ones randomly but want different natures for breeding

How many Pokémon is it recommended that I catch and check the IVs of in order to accurately find my DS's parameters?

You probably want to repeat the process a few times to find your most common timer0 values (usually 2) so you have a greater search range when Time Findering for standard seeds. I'd say maybe 5 - 10, but personally I just did it about three times, heheh.

Speaking of bugs (no puns intended)... Time finder is still giving me incorrect data for shiny Larvesta eggs. I guess you're waiting for the next release to fix that, which is fine.

Hey there, I'm not sure if this helps, but I was able to successfully RNG a shiny Larvesta from the Treasure Hunter egg.
I did so by doing a Time Finder search for a Shiny Only (~300 frames max) Gift Pokemon with frame 2 IVs (thanks, btw, I initially had been searching for them on frame 1!). From there, I checked the nature that the shiny frame would have for a Larvesta egg by running it through the main window of RNG Reporter. For example... The Seed 92C9DDE0B8977676 gave me IVs of 28/11/31/31/30/30 with a shiny frame on 157 that showed up as Gentle / Male in the TimeFinder, but Modest / Female in the main window. The resulting egg was a shiny, modest female Larvesta with the specified IVs.
It will take a bit longer to double check all the Seeds, but it could serve as a workaround until the next RNG Reporter gets released. Oh, there's also a roaming blue haired girl inside the house who likes to mess with your frames, so it might take a few tries to hit the shiny (but as you'd been trying it previously, I imagine you've run into her tricks!).

It took me about 7 times before I found my real timer0. As I believe the timer0 changes between some different timer0 and C7E or C7F. It took me about 4 tries after finding C7F to find my other timer0.

Mine fluctuates between 76D and 76E (since I use a flashcart mostly nowadays), with varying keypress combos for both. Certain keypress combos give me 76E around 80% of the time, whereas other keypress combos give me mostly 76D.

But on my retail cart I almost always hit C7C.

Thanks for the tips! I'd noticed that the shiny Larvesta egg has one extra frame added to it compared to the regular gift method, but didn't feel like having to check each seed until I got a hit. Now you've motivated me, though, and I think I'll go for it again.

Also, yeah, I noticed the ace trainer moved around quite a bit. I was actually able to use her for seed checking, since she'd usually be in a different position depending on the seed.

Hopefully I can find something good now...

Thank you very much for the tips. I had done soft reset for C-Gear seeding before and that definitely worked better than pressing A to start the game. Manually adjusting the timer worked too. It looks like EonTimer's default HL Calibration of 296 was 1 second off for me; after making it 356 it landed right on the target second. Thanks again!

Hey guys, searched for a physical flawless seed to catch a Pidove, male. Using PPRNG (Updated).

Info:
Version: White
Mac Address: 00-23-CC-BF-8A-5F
Timer0: C7F
Vcount:60
VFrame: 6
SID: 24142
TID:31717

Seed:
F95FD768B73C4F80 (31/31/31/13/31/31)
IV Frame: 1
Time: 2000/03/20 11:26:10
Tmr0:C7F
Hidden Pwer: Dark 59
Keys: None

I am saved on route 3, in the grass. I load up the game at the given time, and sweet scent immediately upon loading. I get a female Pidove level 9, flawless, hardy nature. I check up in the seed inspector to see what my PID is. I am NOT using a synchronizer.

Two results popped up.

Frame: 50 Nature: Hardy PID: EF956BD Abil: 1 Sync: No ESV: 5 Gender M/M/M/F

Frame: 55 Nature: Hardy PID:8ACCE0D6 Abil: 0 Sync: No ESV: 9
Gender: M/M/M/M

Within the 100 PID Frame range, these are the only two. According to http://www.eggmove.com/encounterwhite.html , Pidove at level 9 only appear at ESV 3, which fit neither of the results above. 'Fine,' I mutter to myself, 'I'll load and do chatter once.'
I do so and catch a Brave Patrat (PID 9522B75), level 8, male, flawless. I check the seed inspector again. Hey! It's the next frame after Frame 50. It matches up perfectly, but, then why did I run into a ESV of 3 on Frame 50 when the inspector said 5?
So I search for the next frame with ESV of 3, and hey! It's frame 52, Quirky, 100% chance of male, ESV 3. Sweet!
Nope. Chattering two times into the game, I sweet scent and get Blitzle, level 9, careful (PID 85F36158). I check THIS into the seed inspector and it says it's frame 56, and matches perfectly. Repeated three times, same results each time.
Frustrated, I check to see if I can find an ESV of 5 (Cuz that's what Pidove was, right?) and find that the closest is at frame 65. I load the game and chatter fifteen times, and NOPE, it's little old Bliztle again, prancing in the grass.

Yeah, I know. Long post is long. But I've been trying to get this all day.

I've also been trying tons of other seeds, but none even give me the desired spread. Yes, I double checked them to, and they gave me consistent non-desirable results.

Thanks. =)

For some reason...charging my DS fail me to be on the same timer0....I know for sure now. Before i could hit the same timer0 only 20% of times. Now i can hit it 95% of times and im using a flashcart with like 6 different ones xD.Everytime i try to hit the seed while charging it is a big fail.Just take off and voila it works everytime

alright so im trying to RNG a shiny wild roggenrola and having some trouble

White version
full seed:7BE386AC93E7A982
target time:6:07:53(starting the game at 6:07:52)
Timer0:C7E
Starting PID: confirmed to be 47
keys:A+Up
MAC address:001F32091E42
Non-Cgear
Vcount:60 VFrame:6 GxStat:6
Target ivs:31/31/30/22/31/31

Now my nearest shiny is 181 so 181-47=134 chattot chatters right? well after hitting my seed and doing my chatters i keep getting the wrong pokemon with the wrong ivs. why is this happening? i know im hitting my seed for sure.

Your hardy female Pidove is PID frame 64. Your careful Blitzle is 66. Your brave patrat is likely 67 due to NPC movement or something, but who knows. Why you said there were only two Hardy nature frames in the 100 frame range, I have no idea. There are in fact 5.

Hey, you're right! Thanks! For some reason, it didn't show up Hardy as 64 when I posted earlier, but now it does. (I did recalculate the seed) :D

One more thing though. Before reading this post, I went back to a seed I used to catch a physical flawless Gurdurr. I used the exact same time and seed as before ( it did work before) , but it didn't work this time. I checked three times with the same result.

Maybe I'm missing something again.

Using RNG Reporter (ver. 9.77), how do you find the PIDRNG start frame for the roamers?

I know I'm hitting my start seed -- via iv check. And I can consistently hit Nature as well, after 0 saves, after 1 save, after 2 saves, after 3 saves, ....

But RNG Reporter doesn't let me search for consecutive natures, and I have no idea where to start. Frame 1? Frame 1000? Frame 1950? I checked up to 10000 and never found the correct chain of consecutive Natures. Now what?

What if the game skipped a frame between one of the saves? How do I know? How are you finding your start frames? There are hundreds upon hundreds of Bold->Hardy. Virtually no Bold->Hardy->Bashful, and where there are, the fourth Nature does not match. My eyes could be failing me, too, since I'm searching consecutive Natures manually. This program seems ill-built to find roamers natures...unless I'm missing something.

You can't. The rain advances the RNG 120 frames\second, which will definitely cause some huge skips. What you could try is using a precise timer, and increment it a 60th of a second every time you check. That assumes your fingers move quickly enough to hit it precisely.

Also note that if you try this, it will skip every other frame.

On route 1, do the seasonal leaves affect the PIDRNG? I know there is a random moving NPC on that route, but I'm not sure about those leaves. I'm looking into getting a Shiny Milotic, hence why I'm curious.

Also, does anyone have any clues on how to avoid the fog around the Giant Chasm? I've seen videos where people have encountered no fog in that area.

Are you talking about rain when I'm in the house performing the frame-advancing saves, or rain when the roamer flies down in front of me and I'm button-mashing A?

Because when I'm inside, and right before and after the roamer flies down, the weather is snow (December seed). It's rain only for a second or two as the roamer flies away. And even if snow is as bad as rain, I thought snow didn't matter if I was inside the house..

I thought that roamers' iv/Nature are determined when you first see it? Then wouldn't the amount of rain time be constant assuming I'm mashing A at the same rate and getting the weather back to snow (then quickly entering menu and flying away to Striaton)? I'm still able to hit Natures consistently -- just not the Nature I want :( which seems to suggest that the advances are consistent.

Ok, I finally hit my seed. I'm trying to find my PID for the seed, but the inheritance is the same for PID frame 54 and 56.

Seed: B0819BBBDBE4B2A7
Date: 1 / 3 / 2011
Time: 16:50:09
Inheritance: x / Ma / x / Fe / x / Ma
PID: FAEDB5F8
Shiny Frame: 181
IVs: 3 / 23 / 20 / 30 / 31 / 31
Baby IVs: 3 / 20 / 20 / 30 / 31 / 31

Timid Ditto w/Everstone: 31 / 31 / 31 / 30 / 31 / 31
Timid Male Shelmet: 31 / 20 / 31 / 2 / 31 / 16

Hi :) I have question about The RNG Reporter 9.77 BETA Time Finder window.

You see how the RNG Reporter window stretches out to show all of it's contents, when
I open my Time Finder, the window will only show as much it can fit into screen.
Cutting off the right side where it shows the Nature, Ability, Sync Nature & etc.., from top to bottom.

Clicking on the edge of the window to customize its dimension works, but only to shrink it further, & scrolling doesn't work either on it. It's like an un-moveable wall. :(
As an example of what I see, place your palm on the right side of the Time Finder.

can you help me with any tips?
(Please re-direct me to someone else if you don't know how) :P

P.s. Thanks for the Entralink RNG post. :)
