when should i calling joey..? i hit the right seeds( frame 2 ) place parents to day care then walk around until old man holding the egg...but the egg is not a shiny..?..or calling joey before i place the parents to day care..?
If it's on frame 2 shiny egg will be the second one. I've never used that Joey trick so I don't know, unfortunately. :/

i'm trying to RNG for a shiny dialga in diamond. so the target frame i need for my seed is 809. i can hit my seed pretty easy but when i'm done advancing the frames it isn't shiny =/.
what i am doing is taking the 809 and subtracting 1 because of dialga monster frame. so that leaves me trying to get 808. so i divided it by 2 to see how many times i need to look at my caught a Golbat page in the journal and i look at the page 404 times but still no shiny. i did it a couple times in case my count was off but nothing.
then i remembered something about the coin flip advancing the frame by 1 each time so i then subtracted 10 frames from the 808 and it came out to 798, then divided it by 2 and it's 399 journal flips this way but i tried it like this twice and still no shiny. any help is appreciated!

Reject the first egg, and take the second one. DO NOT call Joey.
There is something called PID. Every spread has one. Now certain combinations of ID/SID make certain PID's shiny. You probably dont have such an ID/SID combo so Dialga is not shiny though you have hit the seed and the frame. To get the particular ID/SID combo you need to ID/SID abuse. But thats another story.
EDIT: Coin Flip does not advance the frame by one.
i dont get what you are saying. my ID/SID combo wont produce a shiny even though i checked the shiny only box when coming up with a target seed?
Yes it will do that. But are you using such a spread which gives you a shiny with your ID/SID combo ??? If yes then check if you have entered the ID/SID correctly. Other than that I have no idea what your problem is.
flyleafgroupie: Are you sure you are using right method? Are you using synchronizer?
I had same problem when I was RNG:ing shiny Mesprit. I didn't know that it was created by Method 1 so I used Method J instead. x) I know it sounds stupid but yet it's worth checking. Dialga is Method J pokémon for sure.

thank you guys so much for trying to help by the way. and yeah i am using method J and am putting my syncronizer as mild as well..
EDIT: I just hit my target seed again, fliped the journal page 404 times and still not shiny again.
^ Maybe your starting frame is messed up. Try hit your seed one more time and don't do any journal flips. Catch Dialga and check your starting frame by using RNGReporter.
Last time (about 1 and a half year ago), there was these spread sheets that list down all seed with good spread.
There are 2 csv files for it, one is for Attack and another one for Sp.Attack

flyleafgroupie: IF you're abusing for anything that's not in an egg for shininess, you must check if your ID/SID combo produces a shiny for that particular spread. Getting a shiny pokemon takes a bit more work than just learning how to RNG abuse.
Egg = anyone can get shiny
Captures = ID/SID combo must produce a shiny spread for you to get it shiny. That's why people abuse their ID/SID combo.

Okay I have two questions...
1.) For honeytree abuse I need frame 25. So am I already on frame one, and I need to do 11 advancements with the journal, or do I do 13 advancements?
2.) For pokewalker abuse I need to get to frame 89. So do I only need to encounter 44 mons? Doing the math, I need to connect to the pokewalker 25 times, 3 times without anything, and 22 times with 2 mons. So would that be right? I'm confused with whether I'm supposed to catch 44 or 45 mons. :/

In HGSS you find a spread on frame 1, 6 or 11 depending on which starter you want. They will appear shiny when you go to select them. That's the only way you can confirm you hit the right seed. Else you have to use an AR to check the seed.
I'm trying to calibrate my delay but There's one part that every guide I have read has not been specific about it. Quote: "Encounter a wild Pokémon as quickly as possible." Does the time I take affect some things? Should I use sweet scent for more reliable times even though it takes longer? thanks in advance. -Hyper Shadow
Meh. Forget that calibration thing. Just actually try to hit a seed using the default settings for your timer. Use the seed to time in RNG reporter to find out what seed delay you hit through the coin flips or elm responses depending on your version. Use "update" to dial it in.
If you insist on doing it that way though, it doesn't really matter. You may or may not find what you hit regardless. Also, instead of repeating that procedure over and over, just do it once. There's no point in repeating.
When calibrating that way, the encounter just has to be within the minute, and the capture can take as long as it needs to (that's at least how it's always worked for me.) The time you take to find the Pokémon affects nothing.
so how do i check if my ID SID combo can get a shiny on a certain spread? my ID is 08520 and my SID is 18512 just in case
Use PokéRNG and search a spread with that ID and SID, and see if any shiny results appear.
