Uh. No. I doubt it entirely, and I want to. Pokabu's evolutions are both hideous and Mijumaru's is just way too stupid to believe <____<

At least there's a reason for a Gun-fish to evolve into a Tanktopus but a Samurai Otter into a quadrupedal unicorn thing with ridiculous whiskers and a giant conch shell on it's head? Not buying it.

@Sandstreamer: I meant that I'm pretty sure Mantine get's bullet seed because of Remoraid, so it makes a bit more sense.

Also did you guys see what level that wild Wargle was? 58! That means we probably won't be seeing him for a while. It also means there's some badass wild pokemon in Black and White @0@

Oh and it might just be me but Doryuuzu looks a different colour than when we first saw him.

Ew.

The last thing we need this generation is more Water/Ice types all over the place. Maybe if we got a fast sweeper, I would forgive GF, but we need more Water and Ice with whatever else instead.
I wouldn't mind ice/water if they changed Ice's fucking weakness and resistances.

Ice only hits Steel, Ice, Fire and Water for resisted damage. Neutral on everything but Dragon/Flying/Grass/Ground/Rock. Ice was never a defensive type like Steel. It will always be an offensive type to abuse STAB and damn good coverage.

Seriously, quit complaining about what Ice hits resisted. Notice half of what it's resisted by are weak to Ground or Fighting. I think if Mamoswine got a better physical Ice move other than Fang and that Polar Bear Ice/Fighting rumor comes true, you'd complain a lot less.

I doubt that tbh. Something like 80/120/80/65/65/105 would be more realistic. Perhaps a little more speed, and/or SpA, but I definitely don't see it having 135 speed, and it'll almost definitely be much more physically offensive than special, IMO. Though it could get a usable SpA stat to compliment a higher Atk stat, ala TTar.

Eagles are super fast arent they?

What Mamoswine really needs is some more Speed. It's already got the third most powerful Earthquake in the game (Second only to Groudon and Rhyperior), which can rip holes in pretty much anything that doesn't resist it or is immune to it. A better ice type attack would be good, but not what it would need to really make it worthwhile to use.

@Emperor: Thank Arceus.

Evos are fake guys :D I was right on something yay XD

I'm so happy I could cry.

EDIT;
Also, from pokéjungle:

So, can we assume the fourth Gym is Electric-type?

It's tied for third with chomp ;D

also I am so happy that the final evolutions were fake. I mean all of them look horrible except smugleafs.

I knew the starters were fake the moent i saw that dump ass Pokabu evo,it's like they guy who made it wasn't even trying to hide the fake! That Pokabu evo could have atleast been a pig.

More Speed could help Mamoswine but since it can already outspeed the bulky Pokemon and has a powerful Ice Shard, I think that a stroger Ice move and something that can 2HKO Bronzong when it holds a Choice Band would be best for it. An ability that actually does something under normal conditions would be nice.

I actually don't see how more speed would be extremely helpful, without going insanely high. It can already speed tie Dragonite, who will often have a DD up anyway, Lucario can still hit you with Extremespeed, Gyarados will either already have Intimidated you or have a DD up, and it can already hit things like Gliscor and Flygon hard with Ice Shard. Outspeeding Jirachi, max Speed Suicune, Rotom, and Zapdos would be good to hit them hard with Earthquake or 2HKO them, respectively, but having another solid STAB and unresisted coverage seems better to me.

I'm sad about the Grass and Water being fake, but Pokabu's final evo was some mix of Banette, Rhyperior, Typhlosion and Magmortar. Plus it's even more ugly than Heatran, and that's saying something.

Who came up with the name Smugleaf, anyway? To be honest it's driving me crazy to see people calling him that. >_<

I'm 100% convinced to get Black now, after seeing the scenes with Reshiram in those trailers. I really want a Rankurusu, though, so I'll have to trade for that. Its stats look like Roserade with base 5 speed, though.

So they turned out to be fakes as well.

About the trailers...

In one of them that bat thing is shown to appear in a cave, I think it's safe to assume that it's this generation's Zubat.

Also nothing is shown to give the hint of Encourage negating negative side effects like those of Superpower and Hyper Beam. Just because they showed them in the videos doesn't mean those moves won't have negative side effects.

It's a meme. Seems he's poised to overthrow everyone's favorite pokemon, mudkipz.

I think the name's funny 'cause he totally looks like a smugleaf.

Who the fuck is complaining about ice offensively? Nice strawman you got there.

I want it to get a defensive boost. And arguing that it's an "hurpdurp offensive type" doesn't do much to cheer up those Pokemon who are unusable because of their ice typing does it?

It's just lame how Ice's only use today is Ice Beam/Punch on non-ice Pokemon. I want it to actually become a decent type.

Probably someone who was tired of weeaboos using the Japanese names.

No, Ice-type Double-Edge pretty much solves its problems. I mean, that would do 52.1% - 61.7% to 252/252 Skarmory with a Jolly nature and Choice Band. The standard tank Bronzong takes 35.5% - 42%, and Swampert 58.4% - 68.8%. Oh, and lol Scizor; 42.9% - 50.4%, 2HKO with Stealth Rock. Then he has Ice Shard for revenge killing, and Earthquake for hitting shit like Metagross and Suicune. Stone Edge isn't really necessary, as the proposed Ice move would do 56.8% - 67.6% to bulky Gyarados at -1, but it's still there He has a great HP stat, and recoil moves are good for that.

Eagles are super fast arent they?

Average actually. Typical flying speed around 40-50 km/h, and dives at about 80-100. They don't dive often though, unlike other birds like Osprey and falcons. The Osprey has speed comparable to an eagle and the closest pokemon we have to an Osprey would probably be Pidgeot. The peregrine falcon dives average 200 mph (top recorded was 242 mph) for a comparison to what would be considered a fast bird.

That being said, the speeds in pokemon are not exactly accurate. Hawks are typically slower than the others but Staraptor gets base 100, so realism isn't key. For comparison I tried to get info on the fastest bird so far, Swellow, but trying to search for the flying speed of a Swallow leads -only- to Monty Python quotes.

To answer the initial question, no eagles aren't "Super Fast" they are about average when it comes to large birds.

EDIT: Wargle certainly doesn't look fast though. It has thick legs, a thick body and comparatively small wings. Match that up to a fast bird like Swellow, who has a small aerodanamic body compared to its wings and not much in the leg department. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Wargle only has around 90-95, but with high attack.

EDIT Remix: The swallow thing was there for a joke, I wasn't being serious :P

Erm... Weavile? Mamoswine? Abomasnow?

Articuno and Glaceon also see some use, as do Froslass, Walrein, Dewgong and Lapras. (Granted, most of these are on Hail teams, but that doesn't detract from their usefulness). Regice also performs well under Trick Room. Ice is an excellent type because of the prevalence of pokemon 4x weak to Ice, making Ice Shard a 240 base power move that always goes first.

Ice is so good offensively that it really doesn't need a defensive boost.

The estimated flying speed of a swallow is 40-50 mph.

Also, is anyone else going to avoid any info of Black and White after it comes out? I'm going to do it since it will make the first playthrough of the game much more fun (especially since we won't get "caves have Zubat/Geodude water has Tentacool" syndrome).

Although a definitive answer would of course require further measurements, published species-wide averages of wing length and body mass, initial Strouhal estimates based on those averages and cross-species comparisons, the Lund wind tunnel study of birds flying at a range of speeds, and revised Strouhal numbers based on that study all lead me to estimate that the average cruising airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24 miles an hour.
I think that's pretty slow for a bird. I guess that proves your point, then?

Got that from the first google answer, btw. Monty Python quotes and all. Funny stuff.
