Ubers Speed Tiers

Getting Started

To begin with, find the maximum Speed of the Pokémon you're building. You can find this information on our analysis pages for each Pokemon. After you've found your maximum Speed, use the following tables to see how much Speed the threats you wish to out speed have, and EV your Pokémon accordingly. Keep in mind that when calculating your maximum Speed stat, you need to take into account your Pokémon's Speed IV. For example, +Speed Mewtwo can hit a maximum speed of 394. The closest threats would be +Speed Shaymin-S who caps at 388 Speed. You can therefore run 236 EVs to hit 389 Speed and still have all the benefits besides the speed tie to other maxed out +Speed Mewtwo.

Speed Boosts

To calculate your necessary starting Speed when factoring in Agility, Rock Polish, Chlorophyll or Swift Swim, all you need to do is add one to the Speed of the Pokemon you wish to outspeed, divide it by two and round up the result. For example if you wanted to outrun say +Speed Deoxys-A who maxes out at 438 Speed you take 438 and divide it by two giving you 219 add one to this making it 220. This is the minimum Speed necessary for you to outrun +Speed Deoxys-A after a single +2 boost.

To factor in the use of Dragon Dance/Choice Scarf or Salac Berry, you need to find the Speed of the target you wish to outspeed and multiply it by 2/3. So for example if you wanted to outspeed Choice Scarf neutral Heracross who hits 403 Speed after a single boost you should take your target speed (404 in this case) and multiply it by 2/3, which gives you a stat of 269.33 rounding this up will give you 270 which is the minimum Speed necessary for you to outrun Choice Scarf neutral Heracross after a single boost.
