First ASB Team Tournament! (Won by Team jassmashpwn)

    Alright guys, it's time. 15 teams have signed up, and now they will begin the journey to ASB greatness. Who will be left standing after four rounds of hard-fought battles? Let's find out!

    Rules for battlers
    -3v3 Singles / 4v4 Doubles / 5v5 Triples (Positioning OFF)
    -ASB Arena
    -All Abilities
    -No Items
    -5 recovers/5 chills
    -2 Substitutions
    -2 Day DQ for battlers
    -2/3 Day DQ for refs (explained later)
    -Self-KO clause; in the event of a double KO to end the match, the Pokemon that KOed itself through whatever means (self-KOing move, energy exhaustion, etc) loses.
    -Each player tells the ref whether they would rather play Switch=KO or Switch=OK. If both players agree then that rule is chosen; otherwise, a coinflip is used to determine what the switch rules will be.
    -Players send out their first Pokemon simultaneously via PM. First order is decided via coinflip.

    Here's a rough idea of how the battles will progress:
    -Round starts, refs are assigned to battles.
    -Battlers PM their teams to refs (send in Pokemon equal to the match size) and declare whether they want Switch=KO or Switch=OK.
    -Ref posts thread.
    -Battlers PM the ref with which Pokemon they want to have battling first.
    -Ref posts the Pokemon and flips a coin to decide who orders first. Battle then progresses as normal.

    DQ Rules:
    -First of all, NO ONE GETS DQED UNLESS I SAY SO.
    -If, prior to the start of a round, you know that you will miss a significant portion of the round, tell me so and you will be allowed to have one of your teammates play in your place. They will use your Pokemon and for all intent and purposes be you. However, they will get the CC for the battle, not you, and your Pokemon will earn no counters from the match. This also applies to teams who have had a member disappear with no prior warning.
    -All rounds (including the sending in of Pokemon) have a 48-hour DQ. For sending in Pokemon, your teammates will be allowed to send in for you, but once the match starts, if you go over DQ and I don't know where you are/can't reasonably expect you to return I will DQ you. I reserve the right to give up to an extra day if I feel like you may still post, but don't take your chances and stick to the DQ.
    -If you must be away for a brief period of time in the middle of a match, tell me in advance when you will be leaving and when you will be returning, and as long as the time away is brief (less than a week) and I can trust that you will post immediately upon your return, I will stretch DQ for you. Note, however, that if you do not post within 12-24 hours of the time that you tell me you are returning, I will be forced to DQ you for that match.
    -If you are DQed and your team still advances, you may still play in future rounds if your team is willing to let you play. However, be warned that I will be much stricter on DQ, so don't let it happen again!

    Rules for refs:
    As we want this tournament to go as quickly as possible, refs will be expected to ref within 3 days at most, with an added restriction that they must not go over 2 days without reffing 3 times. I will subref liberally in order to make sure that matches get done promptly. However, if I get a subref for a match you are reffing, then provided I can still trust you to ref promptly you will still be able to subref other matches/ref future matches. I want this to be as close to a team effort as possible, so that this tournament can go as smoothly as possible and so that we can hopefully have another one.

    Also, make sure to use the Tournament tag for your matches!

    Bracket, matchups, and ref assignments:

    I decided to use a bracket maker for the matchups, so you'll be able to see who you can face in future rounds. In order to avoid any potential bias, I had one of our resident project mods, MK Ultra, make the bracket using random seeding. He'll also be my second-in-command in case I can't be around for an extended period of time. Here is the bracket.

    Despite the fact that this tournament is Single Elimination, we can still have statistics! This will be updated hopefully at the end of each round, although I may update it more often if I have the time.     Just to clarify, when sending teams to refs, make sure to send only the amount needed for the match size! For example, if you're playing singles, even though you may have signed up with 4 or 5 Pokemon, you can only send 3 of them to the ref! Also, you only have to decide who you're sending out first once the ref posts the thread. And don't forget to say whether you want to play Switch=OK or Switch=KO!
