  • It doesn't have to be, but to be on the safe side, yes. Better to be 100% certain you hit it than 50%.
Pretty terribly but i did get to meet a bunch of smogoners so it was totally worth it.
According to the thread and what kaphotics and bond have said its pmuch done. Looks like they're just you know, figuring out how to determine what mon comes out of hidden hollows and stuff like that.
Yeah. My original plan was just to get one copy. But now my 4 year old seems interested in pokemon. In order to get her ready for Juniors VGC I'll need 2 carts anyway.

I had my wife order it and I asked her to use the fastest shipping, but unfortunately she clicked the normal shipping x_x It shipped on the 25th, but who knows when it'll get here.
Suggest away! I'm gone til monday (vgc nationals!) So i wont be applying that check yet.
glad i could be of service! i'm going to revise that guide to what i had before (with the game corner abras), it's much more efficient than what i changed it to.
Yeah, my bud at work has pre-ordered B2. He doesn't have a 3DS, so not being able to use the AR Searcher or whatever doesn't bother him. I could always borrow his to RNG whatever comes out.
You know, that really is the only reason. I was really looking forward to it, but freaking region lock has to go and ruin it.
Actually yes. What I think I'm going to do is import and help with RNG research (if they need any) and RNG all of the new egg moves and get the tutors, and then just Rent the English version when I need it for VGC, and to play through once to get the story you know.
Oh, that was never a problem for me. I played through at least 3 times before I got an ENG copy and it was still a wonderful experience playing through in ENG. Like, I knew "how" to get through the game obviously, but I had no idea what all the people were saying the whole time. There was zero story. When I played it through in English I finally got to read the story.
I pre-ordered Heart Gold and Black through playasia.com and had no problems either time. They got me them when they said they would be there.

You know, its really not that difficult. There will be guides up within a week if you get stuck. And you know as well as I do that even if it is a new game its still going to have 8 gyms and an elite 4. Plus, I'm sure you can figure out what moves are what just based on the typing, physical/special, and base power. Its not really that hard.
Yesirre. Getting ready to pre-import the next one. The earlier you get on the list, the earlier it ships to you, especially when this one is guaranteed to pre-order 2 million or so.
Haha thanks man, bit I had almost nothing to do with these new discoveries. I kind of gave up on it since my experience with hardware is really limited, while people like OmegaDonut, Bond697, and Kaphotics had the real knowledge and patience to pull it off. At leaalst some of our discoveries were correct, verified by people who know what they're doing.
Yeah that's the post. Uh.. you know how the egg PIDs work w/o an everstone correct?
Well... the information is in the RNG research thread but I can't build a program or whatever that can actually search for Everstone PIDs.
If your college CS department has a MSDN agreement with Microsoft, you can get just about any computer software made by Microsoft for free. I've downloaded Windows 7 and Visual Studio for school, you can also get Microsoft Office, older Windows versions, and various personal tools like accounting and note-taking software.
nah no info on what RNG generates that; it probably is the LCRNG instead of the Encounter RNG (different +0x constant)
    bulbapedia:

Every day, a random number between 0 and 65535 in hex (that is between 0x0000 and 0xFFFF) is generated by the game. If this number matches the last two bytes of the personality value of any of the Pokémon in the party in hex, Mirage Island will appear for that day. The number is generated at 0:00 hours every day and it is active 24 hours.

Even though play time has nothing to do with the real time clock, a game that has reached the maximum time of play (999 hours and 59 minutes) will not generate Mirage Island numbers anymore.

Basically that. Compare rand to 16bits of party PKM

    I don't think there's anything "unknown" about it :S
That was a response to a question I asked them through the support page. It's not public anywhere as far as I know.
Ohhh my Terrakion used a very bulky spread with virtually no speed EVs, actually. Speed's almost always the most redundant stat, especially on a scarfed pokémon that's fast already, so it was something like 222hp/252atk/4def/32spd I think. Still outsped everything, and the extra bulk won me a LOT of games (especially at Birmingham where it was most important). Doesn't work this year though cause of swift swimmers.
Go for haban and psychic. Dragon type attacks are the only ones that threaten to OHKO Latias really so it's the better option over yache. Psychic's just really cool for whacking Toxicroak with, especially since most noobs using croak don't know people carry psychic on Politoed. It's a nice, easy OHKO and usually makes a game-winning move.
Depends really, cause when you're dealing with dragons Latias is going to be slower and vulnerable to being 2HKOed, so you need to do as much damage as possible. Trouble is, if the draco meteor misses you're left in a very tricky situation. Dragon pulse meanwhile is just a lot weak and gives Latias a loss of presence, but probably still OHKOs some of the frailer non-haban'd dragons. I think I'd choose draco meteor, but make sure you keep your checks for the faster dragons alive and with enough health to keep them from sweeping you in the event of something going wrong.
