5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Zerofocus, you either have to use Non C-Gear RNG methods, or let your game sit for several extra seconds with the C-Gear on to force nature changes.

Yeah I realize that but the nature is going to be random as is because the rain advances the PID by a random amount so not like I can predict that yet. I was hoping I could synch it : /

You can't synch the roamers, AT ALL. You must RNG then before talking to the lady in the house, it is that easy.

Also, you don't need to wait multiple seconds before trying again to change the nature, if that was the case then RNGing for nature would be easy. The nature changes, or could change, every few milliseconds...

I'm trying to C-Gear RNG a Zorua, and I was wondering if the nature is set with the seed? I keep hitting it, and I keep getting Impish. Is there a way to change it without having to find a new seed? Thanks in advance. :)

Elaborating... nature can change 60 times a second in rain.

It advances 120/s in intervals of 2.

:)

Getting the same nature is just luck. The C-Gear being on advances the PIDRNG at a somewhat steady rate, so the nature will be changing at that rate too.

Should I even bother turning off the C-Gear then? Also, can the RNG Reporter Theoretical Nature option be used with C-Gear seeds? How would I use it? (This is for other RNG projects not Thundurus)

Thanks

A bit off topic, but if you knock out a roamer, can you encounter it again by going through the Elite 4? And if so, would the process of RNG be the same as the first time you met it (i.e. The old lady's house on Route 7)?

No, you would need to RNG during the Champion Battle, and it would be absurdly hard without an emulator.

In other words, it's basically impossible.

Odd question:

What happens to my seed if I turn my C-Gear on for a few seconds, turn it off, and then turn it back on? Am I re-seeded?

How would i advance my frames if i want to catch a poke on water, cause i don't think you can take steps on water lol
Pretty sure one "step" on water is the same as one step on land. Of course it's like walking in grass or in a cave, you basically need repels to make sure you do not get in battle.

Yes it is. Hm.. I wanted to be able to use IV check code :/

Sorry for the late answer, and I don't know if you've already got your answer, but I'm using Cyclo DS too. You should press "Start" at the "Select cheats screen" if you're using the old cheat prompt (which, for me, is what fixes the bug with Cyclo DS codes not saving after a change) when the first timer is over.

It won't mess with your delays, since you should have calibrated like that in the first place.

Hope this helps someone, ZeroHorus did a C-gear tuturiol.

Sorry if this has already been posted before.
The video was rather helpful, though I didn't quite understand what he said when it got down to timing your DS. "If you time is 5 minutes & 30 second then you want to set it for 4 minutes & 59 seconds" that doesn't seem right or maybe I'm misinterpreting it.

The time given for your seed is when you want the game to be seeded; that is, when you turn the C-Gear on.

So, the timer has two countdowns. Start the first countdown running at exactly the same time as you set your DS clock (Eon Timer tells you how many minutes in advance of your target time you need to set it). Turn the DS off, turn it on and get into the game. Then soft reset as soon as the first timer finishes. Get into the game, and press the power button on the lower screen C-Gear. Wait until the second timer finishes, and press yes with the stylus as soon as it does.

Then do the required frame advances, and hope you catch the right thing!
I think I'm finally understanding this RNG thing now, thanks. They're still some things that need answering though.

1. What does the first reset do?

2. Does turning around in place count as a step?

3. Is they're any recommended range I should input into the delay and/or second box in the Seed to Time window?

4. The "search IV" function within the Seed to Time keeps telling me that they're no match for the IVs I inputted. Does it means I'm way off any of the delays listed within the lower or is that some glitch?

how do i find out if my frame is under 2500 when doing the time finder?

and should i kill off my roamer before RNGing a stationary pokemon?
You input the maximum frame you want. It's recommended you keep the maximum frame low (30 or below is ideal).

You do NOT kill off your roamer. In fact it's best you don't release your roamer at all if you want to RNG it.

The search IV function currently only works when you immediately catch a pokemon after you start the C-Gear.

Just wanted to check on something,I'm gonna RNG Zekrom
So the frame advancment needed is 27-3-1+1=24
Sooo,Once i get in the game and turn the C-Gear on i should move 24x128 if i have one pokemon in my party,Right?
