I am having a difficult time deciding between Hammer Arm and Drain Punch on my Conkeldurr. Essentially, I have been trying to do some math to determine if there are any critical OHKO's that Hammer Arm can deliver that Drain Punch cannot. The healing from Drain Punch would help a great deal in matchups vs. bulkier pokemon like Gigalith and Cobalion. Has anyone tried both out to see which fares better? I have mostly been trying Hammer Arm and have been unimpressed by the damage out even with Adamant before the Toxic Orb Guts boost.

The Conk has been a staple on my VGC team for a little while and I've tried using both. Gotta recommend Drain Punch, especially if you're basing your set off of status ailment + guts. TR (if you are using it) + A Poke with Toxic/Burn is asking your opponent to protect stall you; Drain Punch gives you a somewhat consistent way to heal yourself and still wrecks stuff. Hammer Arm can also cause some amazing fails with that 90 accuracy.

Which of the resist berries have been released? Is there a list somewhere?
All 17 resist berries are available from Dream World, and you can get some of them in-game, like a Yache berry from Iris in White (not sure if Drayden gives it to you in Black), and some can be found held by wild Pokemon.

When you first log in to the Dream World, you get five of a random type resist berry. I don't know if it's possible to get the others on your own, but I've been able to find most of them via Share Shelves.

Encore and Beat Up Whimsicott. Wide Guard, Drain Punch, and Mach Punch all together on Conkeldurr is illegal and that's pretty much it unless I'm forgetting something.

So I am running an Anti-setup team, and one of my leads is going to be a Thundurus. Here's his setup.

• Thundurus @ Lum Berry
• Prankster
• Timid
• 4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
- Thunder Wave
- Taunt

As of now, I have Thunderbolt. But I have been thinking about the use of extra power from Thunder and the shortness of VGC matches, and I wonder if it is a better choice than Thunderbolt for this metagame?

As I said before, the risk of missing outweighs the potential benefit. Unlike ladder matches, one loss means you're out, so you need to be consistent.

hellow i have a little question for Mac users!

There's something to play like pokemon online or something? i need to practice for the regional but i dont have windows..

if not thank anyway

252 SpAtk Chandelure Hidden Power Ice vs 0 HP/0 SpDef Hydreigon: 62.28% - 74.25%
252 SpAtk Chandelure Heat Wave vs 0 HP/0 SpDef Hydreigon: 32.93% - 39.52%

252 SpAtk Chandelure Hidden Power Ice vs 0 HP/0 SpDef Tornadus: 74.03% - 88.31%
252 SpAtk Chandelure Heat Wave vs 0 HP/0 SpDef Tornadus: 79.87% - 94.16% (doesn't take into account it being a double battle, so it actually does less)

Really it's only useful for Hydregion, as a neutral Heat Wave does more than a 2x HP Ice.

Thanks for the response, I have another question.

In the chandelure analysis I read that a ghost gem boosted shadow ball OHKOs every Ghost and Psychic type, but a few matches I did this and it failed to KO musharna (had about 3% left). Is this supposed to happen?

I got a quick question. What time should we actually arrive at the convention centre? Taking into account that I will be participating in the master's division.

How are they dealing with registrations this year? Are we supposed to print a sheet like last year and write down all our pokemon, will they have sheets, or is it some other new method?

I think (and correct me if I'm wrong guys) that since we have the "Battle Box" to put our Pokemon in they'll take our cart and see what the items/EVs/movesets/nicknames are? It also works as hack-checking (I think), because it'll be able to tell if your Pokemon are "hacked" (i.e. movesets/EVs), the same way Wifi does.

That's what I've heard, it could be completely wrong though, I guess we'll find out tomorrow!

Is there going to be a live stream of the whole Seattle VGC event? If so, can you link me to the stream, as well as the time the stream will start (unless posted on the streaming)? I would very much like to see how the VGC events operate because I have never been in one, nor have I seen a stream of one.

You're forgetting about Archeops and Landorus. Archeops for the same reason as Hydreigon, and Landorus for the 4X super effectiveness.

So, what are you doing to obtain specific berries for hold items in the tourney? For instance, my poke holds a chople berry but it doesn't exist (as far as I know) without the dream world. Will we just have to trade with hackers or players from like Japan?

You can get all of the type resist berries through the Dream World easily enough. Just go around to random players' Share Shelves until you find the one you need.
